Whitey did a turbo bike, was FI if I remember correctly. My buddy had a turbo bike on carbs. Crazy fast, way too much work to keep it running good though...very, very picking about the jetting and tuning...5 to 10 degree change in temp and it was back to the drawing board...etc...

No..you'll get a 10% increase in power or so. Those mods, drag porting and alky would make it no problem. But...are you going to buy a longer swingarm, beef up the clutch, get an over ride tranny, etc. to complete the package. Cause all that power won't do a thing if it can't get to the ground.
-
I'm 250lbs. he might have launched hard...he was in no way taking full advantage of that motor on the stock swinger, though... (prolly had a stock tranny...too...lol )
-
a 14 mil cub on a stock swinger? What an utter and total waste of a motor. that isn't even a sleeper, unless you have another rider of 200lbs sit on the bumper.... Yes, they make 14 mil cubs. Good luck with a +2 or +4 on a good running 4 mil cub, even on gas. My 4 mil was a handful with a 6 over, Justin...and that was stock tranny and clutch on gas....

He's gotta put more than that into it to get 70HP. My buddy has a 564 Falicon/Nmotion kit. Cams, Nmotion pipe, programable ignition, lightened flywheel...etc. A LOT of cabbage. Still mid 50's in HP, MIGHT touch 60. Unless he's got a shot in a bottle or a super lightweight drag chassis...a 4 mil cub on gas with an override will hand it to him all day long. Stock vs. stock...or piped vs. piped...a new 450 will beat a banshee. 450s can be made to run...but a banshee can run faster for cheaper.

NYUK is looking for a carrier...do you have pics..and a price to New Jersey shipped?

It depends on how and where you ride. The comp series that Travis and I use are pretty much for drag only... They need to be stiff. And mine sure as hell are. However, the coilovers aren't bad shocks for some duning... Drag racers in general want little or no squat (part of the reason for building a rigid chassis) when the bike squats too much, it's wasting energy trying to move it forward.... Hope that helps.

Stock YFZ.... Best balance of everything... Have you ruled out a 450R? Good bikes as well. Z400 is good, but low on power compared to a 4 fiddy. A banshee needs a TON of suspension work to even think about it...then there's the lightswitch powerband that will need to be tuned afterwards via pipes, porting, carbs...etc., just to detune the nature of the beast. 250R is a Great choice...but, they haven't been made since 89...so parts are becoming more rare...and more expensive.

Awesome... PM Evan...for the powder coater in Greenville. Unless you got someone else already lined up... I know that guy in Holland still has a Jarm frame freshly PC'd black for sale, and cheap too..Rog.

Bob has demanded a NASCAR quality tech inspection on Curt's machine next time out... LOL... On another note....If I would've known you guys were only staying one night, I would've stopped by your campground to have a beer or three with you...but I understand the family thing!! Thanks for all your help as usual Roger, I appreciate you taking time out from riding with the buds to help school this alky/drag bike rookie!!! I owe ya!!

JT... Speedrip pull out his 350 for the dunes? I would've liked to see that run too.... Yea, speedrip's 14 mil runs. It was hard to get traction on the strip, it was very, very wet sand...and heavy.
-
Glad to see you all made it home ok... Had a great time...hopefully we can run 'em next time out!!! Poor 4 stroke Honda Bob...that's all I can say.... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

Great movie Tyler...I just bought Dazed and Confused AND F.A.S.T Times at Ridgemont high (shameless plug, I know) WTF...I go away for a weekend and school gets out for recess? 2busy2lookforyourdick.... I can see your mommy and daddy need to tighten the parental controls on your computer. Cause if you're a grown man talking like that...how pathetic. I fully agreed with you on Dave Moore purchasing ad space and contributing to the site...but...no where did I call out a personal attack on him or Holly. Who the fuck named you the morality police of banshee HQ? Keep your childish discussions with your classmates after the recess bell...before the short bus arrives to pick you up.

We probably won't leave till tomorrow...noonish. I put water in the cooling system, water is slowly pooling up on the center nuts of the head...not good...
-
I could use a hot tub and a beer like no other right now...shitty day at work to say the least. Glad it's all over in about an hour....

Yeah...a brain after all this is done. It actually looks like a bike again. I have to put the carbs on, tank and radiator shroud, left footpeg and chain tensioner (stripped bolt, of course...) and the left pipe on. then it's fill it up and crank it up!! Gonna be another late night...might not leave till early in the AM. Thanks for the help...JT... You don't happen to have a Honda EX rear hub and sprocket nut layin around...do ya?? Can't find the one for my 400EX...just my luck!!!

What kind of compression gauge did you use? Name brand, or auto store cheapy? (It makes a HUGE difference) Did the thread reach on the compression gauge screw into the head as far as a spark plug does? Normally they don't...that's a few more PSI. If you plan on running that much timing, I'd run straight race gas. At 145PSI and a moderate amount of timing...say curve 3 on the dyna and 0 on the plate...or 4 to 7 on the plate and stock curve on the Dyna...you could probably mix 50/50. Honestly, if you like the way it runs with that much timing, just buy 110 octane, don't mix it...and leave it in there.

If you are running a stroker crank and OEM pistons without a spacer plate, yes...they will travel past 0 deck. That's why you get the head/domes cut, the piston will slightly run up into it. 795 series are used because of a longer rod, NOT the stroker crank (110mm is stock rod length, 115 is long rod) Good point, Jeff.... I need to start thinking in terms of "not" drag racing...my bad.
-
It was an upgrade offered to Donkey 2.0...
-
Squish is checking the dome of the piston to the surface of the head dome... Solder is used to "squish", then measured with a micrometer... Yeah, the piston will travel above 0 deck height on a stock cylinder with a 4 mil stroker, thus the need for a "+2" cut dome....

Disconnect the TORS. The connectors on top of the carbs, the black box under the seat, at the throttle and disconnect the parking brake wires. Before you try and diagnose any further, try to remove that culprit... Then, if that doesn't change anything, switch plug wires and put fresh plugs in again...gapped at .028. See if it kills/misfires the other cylinder. If so, bad coil or bad plug caps (Bad end caps are common on banshee stock coils.)
-
Throw 8 degrees at it...see how it likes it. Keep an eye on your plugs.

No biggie. Typing on the net doesn't portray tone very well, wasn't trying to sound like an ass. Quite a few of us read and reply in several threads on any given day...trying to help as well as learn things. I'd hate for one of you to get the other guy's advice and have a problem from a simple communications mix up... Best of luck!!

Keep it up...youngin. I didn't have time for homework...in my day, we walked to school in the snow, barefoot, uphill both ways....heaven help ya if you stepped in a pile of dung from a passing by horse and carriage... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
-
Shit...I didn't do my homework when I was in school...you think I'm gonna help you with yours?? LOL.. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
