  1. That's awesome!!! I'll probably throw my shee in the back of my Dodge and take it in the dunes....that way JT and I have alky, coolers, tools out there... You know how those drag bikes can be...LOL...
  2. Yeah, the remarks were a little harsh I agree. I'd also like to see Dave and Holly actually answering a few members questions, etc. and/or offering help in other way as well. Jeff, Jim and Dave (NOSS) all contribute and help here when they can... (I'm not expecting 1000 posts by the end of the week, just a little insight here and there, tips, tricks....from all that knowledge...) I don't care if he has a myspace thing going, that's actually very smart marketing. Free, very well used and tonz of members, etc. However, don't just link to that site without giving something back to the HQ...that's all I'm saying. Maybe some sales posted on HQ for some goods and services, a few bucks to Lee as a sponsor. I don't think that's way out of line at all....
  3. Dumb question...but here's the basics. Sorry if you covered this already, don't have time to parse the two threads.... Choke tube in place between the two carbs? I know the TORS are removed, but are the idle screw kits installed? Did you check to see if the idle screws are actually raising the slides (you have to grind metal off the carb for them to reach the slides) Are the bowls on the right carbs? Lastly, 25 or 27 pilots should work. 25s on .5 to 1.0 turn out, 27's 1.0 to 2.0 turns out.... You may have dirt in the pilot circuit...
  4. Yep, plugs backing out are detonating or worn out threads on the head. It's not going to back out too many more times, it will blow up soon. Get race gas...
  5. I know a cub on a stock tranny can be made to shift better....but it's still not very good. If you paid for an 80HP motor....why not use it all? Override allows that. If you got a stock cylinder play/dune port and are just farting around...no biggie. But...it's kinda like putting a moto-fast 2 into 1 pipe on a cub. Yeah, it'll work....but, what's the point.
  6. Yep...think so. Made more progress yesterday.... Getting my parts from E today... Should have the last odds and ends tomorrow... I'll settle for a dry dragstrip at this point. E said he put 1500 PSI in my rear marvin. Shit...that's gonna be like riding a rigid...
  7. Than you are the only one known that has a great shifting stock tranny under full throttle Shifts with a cub. My trans was Perfect....put 3 times the stock HP to that tranny and it's gonna shift like shit... what difference does it make what gear you are in? Lower or higher? Full throttle shift is a full throttle shift....
  8. You'll need an override without cleaned up cub. Even a full drag ported cub only adds a handful of HP over a stocker.... you will get beat by lesser motors with an override on a cub without one...
  9. Yeah...talked to him last week. Better late than never...LOL.
  10. Yep...it'll be fast enough for a little while. Then you'll want bigger...LOL. Cleaned up by Jeff @ FAST. SoCalinIt has my old motor, and loves it....
  11. Yeah, just got home from Supercross and we talked about you Jay....he'll take care of biz...no worries!!
  12. Saw that link on PS too...and it looks very neat, interesting. However, I won't be the first to try one. Not having to run a lockup cover would be nice...though!
  13. A fellow Michigander....hell yes. Yes, for our temps, elevation...and no airbox, try 330 first. The worst that is gonna happen is it'll be a hair rich...I think. I'm not familiar with how LRDs flow, but I can't imagine it'll be night and day different than a PT High, T5, Pro Circuit or FMF pipe I've seen before.... Start with middle clip, stock pilot about 2.0 turns out on the air screw. If it still kinda "zingy" or revvy off the bottom but doesn't go anywhere, put a larger pilot in. Or...if it's hard to start....
  14. Duh...Roger, you're talking to the fat boy posse... :yelrotflmao: But you can always hop on any of my bikes...my 10 mil is so stiff, it might as well be a rigid...
  15. We all got to learn somehow....you've found a good place to start. At the top of this forum are a few stickies...pretty simple, plain english reading which will give a great head start...very good info to refer back to at any time. Best of luck...you'll be just fine!!
  16. I must be blind...didn't even see that when I posted earlier (you're not playin tricks on me...are ya? ) Are you going to be racing against other banshees in MX? If not, you're pretty much at a disadvantage to a stock 450 on a track, out of the crate.
  17. What have you already done to the suspension? If nothing, leave the motor stock, get +2 +1 a arms, better shocks all the way around....
  18. I'd bet it'll be his LT400...unless Rog built a duner...
  19. Those needles were really designed for those who run no airbox, which creates a lean spot in the middle... These needles are thinner yet longer, allowing the mid to richen up a bit. Are they necessary? Nope...if you can find 'em cheap, pick some up. I called Toomey and they wanted like 25 per needle new. When I had stock carbs, I found the jet kit (270 mains and 280 mains, with needles) on clearance at Magic Racing for 29.99... I wouldn't sweat it though. You can get similar needles from Vito's Performance as well...
  20. call Evan, he has other shit he uses...but good luck getting them apart if that don't seal it!!! Don't give up...you'll never hear the end of it from that 4 stroke guy... At least you have the play bike, right??
  21. Nice find. The Craftsman is on sale through tomorrow as well: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?...UseBVCookie=Yes
  22. Get a Prius....LOL. Can't believe those things can get 60MPG...sheesh...
  23. Try turning your air screws each out 1/2 turn...maybe lean the needle out one clip. Super T doesn't generally smoke like others...
  24. It's a new motor, and I'm sure you've checked compression. Tan is good, black is too rich...however, just by reading a plug after a long ride doesn't mean much.... Could be lean in one area, rich in another...etc. What type of oil are you using, and at what premix ratio? Some smoke is fine...just means it's not burning off all the oil. Could also mean you're a tad rich in the lowers...could also mean you don't have as clean a burning two stroke oil...
  25. Duct tape.... You using yamabond on that baby??
