  1. Good info...thanks. I was told I should run a billet second in mine as well...after two years, (and as you said, on sand) I've proven to myself otherwise. Same goes for straight cuts....no need for what I do.
  2. What does Greg say about the failures?
  3. I would go on the advice of the guy that actually built your motor, instead of someone that is making a lot of assumptions about a motor he isn't familiar with...
  4. I'm intersted in what tranny he was running, and cut by whom. I know that I run sand, and there is a difference in that and pavement...but my stock cut tranny (no billet) has been bullet proof for hundreds and hundreds of passes, not a single issue. I only have a 68mm cub, but we're not talking a 20 to 40 HP difference, maybe a handful at best. If he was running a full 1-6 override...than I can believe it. They are temperamental....but some have had very good luck with them still. 2nd gear is the weakest in the tranny...but if he's riding pavement, I can't see him launching in 2nd. If you want to run a 1-6 on pavement, my advice is to talk to Whitaker, WCR racing...
  5. Replace all three shift forks...not just the one. Before you jump into splitting the cases again, you need to replace the chain and sprocket.....that's a helluva lot easier. Replace front and rear sprockets along with the chain, they wear as a set.
  6. Quit playing with them PJs and get some PWKs already...will ya?
  7. That's easy....wait till he pops the chain...LOL Look into a lockup and override tranny. IF all you're gonna do is drag this bike, those two are an absolute must!
  8. Us fat boys believe in building bigger motors, it's easier than losing weight....LOL.
  9. When he actually makes the races...probably. When he's not using excuses like his wife being in labor...stuff like that. However...I will find a smaller jockey... I won't even catch his new build...unless I put a lot of spray to mine and it holds together...
  10. That is one clean 18 year old truck...very nice. Always loved those Typhoons and Cyclones. Good luck to ya...
  11. Slam the bike, shorten the rear arm....and are you over studded with those tires. Some rubber has to hit the ice...otherwise you're "skating" on the studs. Then learn to slip the clutch out slower and pick the next gear faster.
  12. There are WAY too many factors in that statement to pick through. Both motors in the same chassis in a good state of tune, there is not a LOT of difference. The longer the run or the heavier the rider...that's where the 10 mil will really start to shine.
  13. You need bigger boots to go from the carb to the box. Also...if you're intake manifolds are real thick (those that have build in crossover tubes, etc) they might push the carb back too far. You might want to stick to UPP for intakes if you want to use your stock airbox.... http://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/...=181&page=1
  14. Very nice. There are plenty of informational posts in the jetting stickies above. As said....you have to load the engine for a proper reading. That's why a lot of guys dyno tune their stuff. They don't have a back 40 to go rip around on to check...so the dyno puts a load on it to simulate riding it down the road...
  15. Putting a 4 mil cheetah or cub together with paddles and running a stock swingarm will be fun, make sure your life insurance is paid for....or get some afflack. I had a 4 mil cub on gas, and with a 6 over arm and 10 paddle haulers the front end came up, all the time...and I'm 250lbs. Sure...can you keep the front end down? yep.... Are you going to be able to use all the power that motor has even at 5000 feet. No way....sorry.
  16. IMO....and you can read a million topics on here about detuning a cub, if you plan on using your FMF pipes and an airbox with this particular cub setup, you're not ready. You're going to need at minimum a 6 over swingarm, stronger clutch...and I highly recommend a lockup and dunable override as well....
  17. Yeah, PM me. Upload the pic to imageshack.us then copy/paste the link for forums in the field.
  18. Can you get us a good, clean and clear picture?
  19. We've always ran 9s on alky bikes. Never tried 8s....and to be honest, never had the need to. I run a B9ES. I run the non-resistor plugs because I run a Nology Setup with Hotwires. The wires have resistors built into them, and the instructions (yes, I read them...) say not to run Resistor plus. That being said, I got stuck and borrowed a set of BR plugs from a buddy at the track and didn't notice a lick of difference. But...I buy B9s when I purchase them for my bike...
  20. Got the ezpull lever with ball bearing...yeah, it's nice!
  21. It's a cleanly done and nice looking bike. I'm quite sure it runs well... His choice of specs are funny...that's all... For some guy that doesn't know any better, that all looks great. Any of us that are somewhat heavy into the sport, it's just a laugh.... I don't think he's trying to maliciously misinterpret what he has...he just don't know. It's not like it's stock with pipes and he's claiming it does 120MPH, verified by his neighbor's Vespa....
  22. B9 plugs are what most of the alky guys run, myself included. B9ES @ .018 to .020.
  23. Mine is about 2 years old...and I think it's time I pitch my spare, and make my current cable the spare in the tool box. What do cables cost now a days, like 10 or 12 bucks.... You'll be amazed how nice and smooth the pull is once you put a new cable on, clean up and lube the perch...I swear.
  24. The motor is a Banshee 525cc big bore that cost $9k to build. With a 7 millimeter crank, 68 millimeter Cheetah Cub cylinder, V-Force reeds valve system, 68 millimeter carbs and Cool heads. It has 1 through 5 speed trans with overdrive and a Alky lock-up clutch. The Fuel mix is 31 to 1 alcohal! You guys totally missed the point. He's not running Alcohol....he's running ALCOHAL at 31:1. Not 30:1 or 32:1...but 31:1.... 525cc out of 7 mil crank and 68mm pistons....maybe those 68mm carbs add displacement.... Oh well...it's good for a laugh...
  25. Just ordered mine yesterday...got the order in before Jeff left for Glamis Vacation. If I need help installing it, I'll be sure to hit up BigRedDouche. I would be lost, as would this forum if it weren't for his fountain of knowledge....
