  1. His birthday was the other day, I'm sure he's all Tranny'd out by now.
  2. You guys are right on the ball. It's lean, bad electrical (weak spark) or bad plug caps, or...check your reeds for chips/burnt corner petals. I kinda doubt it's the reeds...but, something to check once you rule out air leak and ignition.
  3. I've got a tranny for you. PM Me for details.
  4. This info is like saying the 318 in a dodge truck will rev as far, have as much torque as an 8 cylinder porche... Every engine is different. Period. What works on a four stroke vs. what works on a two stroke are two different things. Just like what works on a single vs. what works on a twin are different... When you say a 350cc twin vs a 350 single, what exactly are you talking about? Two stroke or 4? Larger bore and smaller stroke, or vice versa... With power valves, without, case reed or intake reed?(two stroke) In general... smaller pistons on the same stroke crank will rev faster and make their peak HP at a higer RPM than the same size displacement shorter stroke, larger bore. But there are no gaurentees. Here's an example... My bike revs out to probably 11K RPM. Makes power to 10,500... It has a 64mm stroke and 68mm bore. It makes roughly 120HP, give or take. My buddy has a big block twister. It has a 78mm stroke and 84 cc bore. It revs out to less than 10K and makes power till probably 9,500. It's almost double the cc. So what does that mean, bigger is better, faster, more? No... Each is different, period. What is your question?
  5. Oh no you don't....don't try that with me. Talk to your girlfriend...or gregbj....

    override

If you repeatedly let the clutch out and are NOT on the gas at higher RPMs, you will wear the shift forks out sooner, but won't bend or break anything. As noted, TT guys have run a few seasons on the same shift forks, and they're on/off the gas plenty...at max/higher RPMs.

    override

No... Backloading is letting off the gas and NOT pulling the clutch in.
  8. Yeah, I know this is a banshee site. But we all have stuff to sell, trade or barter other than banshee specific items. How about it...first new forum on HQ in a long time. A classified forum for NON-banshee specific items....
  9. You bring up a very good point. We need an "other" for sale section. For people to sell other items, cars, trucks bikes, boats, etc. Very good point....

    override

I thought I read somewhere that Loco said he upshifts and downshifts his without the clutch.... I can tell you I've NEVER downshifted mine (while running) without the clutch pulled in. Totally your call...but I wouldn't warranty or expect one to last downshifting under full load...

    override

Let me know if you need an override.... You will still have to pull the clutch to downshift, so I honestly don't know how much of a help it's going to be for you. They are cut to engage with pressure on them (engine power) and upshifted. They are not cut to shift backwards without the clutch... I would not recommend that, even with a dunable override... So if it's still your cup of tea, let me know.
  12. Ballfro's are out...gotta trim to win. LOL. I agree... this place never had and probably never will have all the technical, cutting edge specs or news for the guys that are into hard core drag racing, such as my self. However...there are probably 100 times more trail riders and duners out there than us drag racers. I get that. This is a GREAT place for them. The fact it is moderated VERY little (that's a good thing, IMO) and I can come on here and vent, tell MJ he's gay, stay away from little boys, or tell people like gregbj or littleredsackinhood what a couple of meat gazing, pecker in cheek clowns they are....well, I kinda like that freedom.
  13. Um...you got all those bikes in your sig and you still ordered parts before tearing it down? And you've rode it for a year? Sorry dude...your fault on that one...
  14. J...you need to find someone running wsm 68mm pistons. Same dome as a 513 or 795 series.
  15. When i thought about putting my bike on gas for ice racing I want to say Packard said 35 bucks each.... You can ask him what needles you should be running, sometimes you'll see them on ebay.... They are not cheap. But the good part is no jets to buy ever. You can switch the carb from gas to alky with a needle (I know, not what you're asking, just saying) and from gravity to fuel pump with a simple needle and seat change...
  16. Those are sync'd. That's about as close as you're gonna get them... I'd go to about 52mm on them (leaner)...if it still doesn't clean up off the bottom and middle, call Packard and ask him what needles/metering rods he suggests for your setup. To be 100% honest, I don't know how long the "usable" range is on your particular needle. I have cnc machined needles by packard, I read to start at 46mm, it was WAY, WAY pig fat, just blowing raw fuel out the tubes...I think they are at 48.5 or 48.6 and it cleaned right up and is crisp. It's a possibility you have alky needles in there, if you do...no matter what setting you try it's going to be rich. Packard is the man, but Fast by Gast does Lectrons too.
  17. You need to measure them from the bottom of the slide (where they go in) to the tip of the metering rod. Measure in mm please. Here...measure here.
  18. I would like to get Jesse and Al in a room, say look at this, blackbird....isn't this great for your people. They get their very own browser geared towards them...etc. Let them look around for a bit, sing it's praises, call for all their brothers to unite, etc. Then....flip the script and say hey...look, here's whitebird. The look on their faces would be 100% absolutely priceless. What could they say, really????? Damn I wish I had a shit ton of money so I could do shit like that. You don't like it? Go Fuck Yourself.....
  19. I've emailed a few people on ebay, craigslist, etc. and ask them questions about dumb shit like that. Honestly, I'm over it. buying a bike/banshee is no different than buying a house. If you want to buy a beat up house that needs work in every room, updates, and still pay full market value for the house, then shame on your for being a fucktard.... I give up....
  20. YOu can get the regular power valves for this Cheetah and control how fast it opens by spring tension.... I'm confused by the whole article as well...
  21. First I've seen of it...can't say the mini radiator at the back of the head impresses me. Then again, I run a boost bottle..it might get in the way...
  22. Just saw this for the first time... NO, I'm perfectly happy with my Chariot product. just curious as to if anyone has seen/used one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-YFZ3...sQ5fAccessories
  23. I agree... 4 to 7 just isn't worth the money. 4 to 10 is.
  24. Purpose built bike...I agree. If you plan on drag racing, get an override. You simply can not pull a clutch and shift gears as quickly as you just click up to shift, it's physically impossible. Dunable overrides are damn near bullet proof...ask anyone that has used an override that either play drag races or drag races all the time, once you go override you will NEVER go back to a normal shifting bike.... I ruins all other bikes you drive after...promise.
  25. Here's both my rides... My 10 mil drag bike and my 08 Hemi 4X4 Laramie. They both have all the goodies...
