Well I figure I might as well try and get a group together to hit up my set of dunes. Least ridden 10,000+ acre sand dunes in the country. Ponds scattered all over the dunes, steep climbs in really soft sand, some nice camping areas I can show people... Best time is in the summer since these dunes are in wyoming and we do have winter and snow at the dunes this time of year. I was thinking late june/early july. Gets up to mid/high 80's that time of year and occasional little rain storms come through in the afternoons to cool it off. No flags required, no parking permits or anything, just ORV sticker for $15 for the whole year covers riding out there. No sound regulations. There aren't any RV hookups though, but plenty of good parking spots out of the wind and any possible weather. My birthday is june 25 and I am always out at the dunes every weekend once it warms up. I live 35-40min away from the dunes and there is a couple ATV shops in town should anyone need anything, and there's hotels, RV places in town if you need them. WalMarts, KMarts, mall, movie theater, bars, strip clubs, etc in town for those of you who might want to go to those places. Dunes are only a half-hour drive from Rock Springs, WY. Lots of decent sized hills to drag race up, more dune than you would ever need to go out and cruise on, trails up into the mountains outside the dunes if you are into trail riding, no fire restrictions for camp fires... Garuntee the BHQ group would be pretty much the only ones out there, even in the summer time. Might be like 10-15 other people out there, that's it. Let me know who would be interested and what dates might work and we will see if we can't get something arranged. I can provide any information anyone needs for the area, directions etc. to get an idea of where I'm at for driving distances, etc. go here. http://www.google.com/maps type in Rock Springs, WY - Jared

GUSSET YOUR SUBFRAME! If you hit that grab bar a lot it will start to crack your frame after a short time. -
Somewhere I have a video of my 4mil cub when I had 33's and my T5's. That thing was a lot of fun with that setup. Retarded power in the midrange with the T5's and smaller carbs. Good for duning, but not drag racing at all. I will look for the video fo ryou.

That seems to be the price for that size around here as well. For a basic fold-down ramp door trailer. I know you could get two banshees in a 6x12 if you don't have big huge swingers and suspension on them, but not sure about 3. the 6x14 would probably be better for 3. I have a question about trailers while we are on the subject as well... I saw a small weekend warrior type trailer going downt he road the other day and it had the name "Cub" on the side of it. It was the perfect size for just me and one four wheeler, which is what I am looking for, just so I have a little place to crash out at the dunes. Would probably sleep 1 or 2 people and would hold one or two four wheelers in it. Pretty small little dude. I have been unable to find anything on the internet about a toy hauler / sleeper that small. Anyone heard of a weekend warrior type trailer named Cub or where I might find one that size? Thanks - Jared

Be careful if you use a grinder that you don't remove any material other than the mount and end up making a weak spot in one of your frame rails. I did a post in the images or repairs and mods section (cant remember which) about a frame I removed all the mounts and crap from. About a month or two ago. It was a red frame. LOTS of pics in the post. Try a search and see if you can dig it up, migth give you some ideas.

Depreciation sucks, that's why you keep it! Ha Ha! That or dump every penny you ever make into it and make it totally not worth ever selling. Bump for the guy.

Save yourself the trouble and just buy the size you are wanting and sell those other domes to someone who rides at higher altitudes and could really use the smaller size. It would be pretty tough to turn them down and keep the right squish band and clearances and angles in there with the bigger size. For the time and expertise it would take to do it correctly they will probably charge you more than what you could have just bought some new domes for. Plus you would have some nasty feed lines in there, even at like a .006 feed rate, the aluminum would still show feed lines. Plus it would be pretty hard to get the two domes to be exactly the same just having someone turn them down. Personally, I would just spend the $60 and get some 20cc domes and sell those other ones to off-set the price.

She doesn't have many "secrets" left after that pic! :yelrotflmao:

Ha Ha! I tested that theory! ROFL!

Put a dab of soft-drying silicone on them after you get them set where you want. Can be removed later if you need, but will still hold them in place.

I use spit for mine!

Yeah, I'm getting a pretty good collection of stuff that I don't really know how to use. Ha Ha Ha! One of these days I will get it all down to a science and maybe be somewhat decent at using all the crap I have. Until then, I just do what I can with what I got.

It ran really damn hard going up our hill at KP. I'm pretty happy with those cylinders, but I'm going to get some cubs for that red banshee here in the next month or so. I'm probably going to put those cylinders and a 4mil crank on my 06 and use that as my backup. Also going to get a lockup for the red banshee.
-
If you figure out a way to get it to me and get it back to you and send all the parts with it, I would put it back together for you for free.
-
Nope, just clean everything up real good and check to be sure you don't have any nasty edges that will catch a ring. The port job on those cylinders has the edges around each of the windows chamfered to prevent that. Dunno if you can see it in the pics or not, but all the ports are chamfered.

Its a dune port 4mil cylinder. I think it was K&T who did the porting, but not really sure. Maybe the original owner of the cylinders will chime in here and correct me if I'm wrong. They run really hard in the mid-range and have decent pull up top. Not like my cubs though. I will probably get another 4mil crank and put these cylinders on my 06 and the cub on the red banshee Or maybe the other way around. Dunno yet. I like these cylinders though, they run damn skippy with that 4mil crank.

Alright, here's two shots... first one is after the rough stone passes. Second shot is after the finishing stone passes and its to bore. Its tough to see in the pic, but there is a really really good cross-hatch pattern there. I just took the pic at a weird angle and it didn't show up. I am disappointed, but it looks just like any of the ones I've seen professionals do. haha! - Jared that's not residual scratches on the cylinder wall above the first transfer port, its from the wiper when I pulled the hone tool out without collapsing it. Ooops

LOL! I will have to tell you some of my storires next time we hook up. The whole ultraviolet colors thing is pretty sweet IMO. Puts a whole new spin on those black-light dance party places for me. Nope, they don't just get dark outside, my glasses are almost black all the time, even inside, even at night when I drive. If there is no moon and no other traffic, I can put on a special pair of night-time glasses I have and I can see really damn good at night. I have almost twice the number of light receptor cells in the back of my eyes as a normal person, so if its night time, i will see about like how you guys can see right before the sun crests the horizon in the morning. If the moon is out, its like normal daylight for me. The sun is retardedly bright, as are house lights and such. Hence the black glasses all the time. Can't count the number of times I've had cops want me to take them off and want to shine a flashlight in my face when they pull over. I basically tell them to fuck off and show them my hospital card saying I have to have the dark glasses. My eyes will actually change colors as well. Can't remember the clinical term for it, but unlike the normal shade change most peoples eyes go through, mine will actually change color, depending on lighting conditions. My eyes are either a bright green, hazel or a grayish green color. Its freaky. Somewhere I have a picture where you can see one eye one color and another eye a different one. Someone had a black-light flashlight and shined it in one eye... I will look around for it.

ROFL! When I was in college I used to take a nalgene bottle and put 4 shots of everclear in and top it off with koolaid, then go sit in the hot tubs for the evening. Had a LOT of good times with the girls in the apartment complex I lived in because they always wanted a drink of my koolaid. ROFL! They knew what was in it, but I was a maintenance employee there so the management would let me take alcohol in to the hot tubs when other people normally couldn't. Thanks nalgene for helping support another college guy's good times! he he - Jared Edit: Unfortuneately I was the same guy responsible for cleaning the filters and putting chlorine in the hot tubs the next day. Ha Ha Ha! Icky. I will very rarely get into public hot tubs now, because I know the sorts of things that go on in there, and I've seen what gets cleaned out of them. Ha Ha Ha Ha!

I have some really serious issues with my eyes and HAVE to wear dark glasses, even at night. I have a super-sensitivity to light and my color spectrum is shifted into the ultra-violet range. I just wear my glasses under some goggles I got and doesn't bother me at all. Put on my helmet, glasses, then goggles snap in the rear. If its REALLY bright outside I have a pair of tinted goggles I wear as well to help with the whole brightness thing. Not sure I would like having to wear perscription goggles. Mine always get scratched somehow and I would be super pissed if I spent more than $70 on goggles and scratched the hell out of them. When I walk with girls sometimes we will hook arms and when we do people think I'm blind. Its funny.

The stuf he had on hand last time I was there looked just like anything else that comes out of the final wash. I wouldn't tell the difference between the aluminum rod and the steel rod he handed me until I felt the weight difference. I'm thinking about just saving up my $$ and getting all my aluminum parts chromed next time I go just so I don't have to continually polish them to keep them looking good. The chrome seems to hold up a little better to the sand blasting my toys see all year long. Yeah, the chrome takes some maintenance to keep lookin' blingy, but not as much as aluminum. We will see how it goes next trip I make out there to SLC. - Jared

PM RIPPEN here on the board, he lives in loveland. I think its like 2 hours or 1.5 hours or something like that. Depends on how you get there. Most people to up to laramie and over HWY230 up past fox park and wycolo lodge. There is nothing else out there like walden, you would love it. Small, but always something to do!

Yeah, lets all smoke a blunt and ride our banshees! That would be totally cool.
