I use a place called Crown Plating out of SLC utah. If you are worried about losing parts in the mail or something you can ship your swinger to me and I can drive it out to SLC and drop it off and pick it back up for you when its finished. I am accumulating a pretty good pile of parts I want chromed for my next trip to SLC. - Jared Nerfs, footpegs, shifter, pipes, swingarm... all done through them.

Did you find what you were looking for bigboy? If not, I can run out to the ol garage and get you whatever pics you need. - Jared

Ha Ha Ha! I never said people don't get totally fuggered up out at KP. Its just that our accidents usually involve someone flying off some razorback and eating shit at the bottom or trying to jump some huge retarded dune. None of our accidents have ever involved alcohol or some dude running your ass over in a big rail. Ha Ha! I've been there for all 3 of the life flights this past year at KP and actually helped with 2 of them. ...and yeah, its pretty much a deserted island. If you were out there riding alone, especially this time of year, it would be literally days before anyone found you if you ate shit and couldn't move for one reason or another. ...and I garuntee you would die of hypothermia over night. Our over-night low was like -8 last night and there was a 17mph wind. They would find you a frozen popsicle laying out on the sand. You almost need avalanche beacons out there in the winter time just so someone could find your ass if you went missing. Ha Ha Ha! :yelrotflmao: - Jared

RIPPEN you damn crack head, this the repairs and mods forum. Did you already start drinking? :yelrotflmao: EDIT: Oh yeah! Happy Brithday man!

Yeah, doesn't get much better than that. No worries of getting run the fuck over by some drunk-ass in a massive rail. :yelrotflmao:

That would be sweet!

You've never been to KP!?!? With the bikes you have you would love KP! WAY more open space and straight lines you could drag race on. You should check out that 2006 compilation video I posted in the video forum, lots of shots from KP in that video. I'm sure we could talk jeff into comming along if he can get away from his store for a little bit. Maybe get a full-blown HQ ride together this summer, that would kick ass! Well guys, for those of you who have shown some interest and think you can make it, what dates would work good for you all? Lets try and get some dates figured out so we can all plan ahead and make arrangements as needed. I'm sure if its just us local wyoming and colorado boys we could hang out at my place and have a few beers or what not at the end of the day. I've got a 60" flatscreen and an XBox360 that says I will kick all your alls asses... :yelrotflmao:

I think I will stand behind polish on this one. Yeah, i come in some of the for sale ads and tell people they might be asking too much somtimes, but for this guy to come in here and blab about the guy asking too much for his CPI's when he doesn't even know what new CPI pipes sell for... well that's just stupid. I think it was a pretty good deal what he sold those pipes for. Sucks to be you dude. LOL :yelrotflmao:

I didn't even know we had new forums... what's going on?

That's probably what I'd do as well. I've used heater blocks from old chevy blazers in the past for extra cooling and oil cooling. Works great and usually fits down inside your frame too. I'm just find a small transmission cooler and use that instead. Probably cheaper and would do the exact same thing.

I sent the guy a message asking for a dyno sheet that shows the 7hp gain at 11,000rpm. Everyone else should message him and ask him for some kind of proof. Dyno sheets showing it... LOL

Hey! Mike is an awesome guy to deal with! I got my red banshee from him and I've gotton quite a few parts from the guy. Totally awesome to deal with. I would recommend him to anyone who asks. Went to dinner with him the night I got the red banshee from him and he's a freaking awesome guy! Totally honest with everything he tells you. Great guy, and has had everything I've been looking for so far. Any time I need a part I can't get on rockymountainatv I hit him up first. great prices, nice guy! - Jared

Alright, to answer some of your questions... A dunable override transmission is a specially "cut" transmission that allows you to shift like a normal override transmission, but still lets you use the downshifts as you normally would. Its basically the best of both worlds. You can shift it normally, like you would any other transmission, or you can shift it like an override transmission. It involves changing out your shift drum, adding some springs to the transmission in different places, and depending on who you have do it, they might machine off some of the cogs on your gears. Its not going to "strengthen" your transmission, just let it shift differently. If you want a stronger transmission, look at some straight cut gears for your clutch, and billet gears for the transmission. I'm guessing you won't be anywhere near the limit of the stock transmission so this would be pointless for the most part for you. Billet gears for the trasmission are going to cost you a shit-ton. Roll-out is the distance traveled on the ground in one revolution of the tire. So if you put a mark on one paddle of the tire, started with that paddle on the ground, rolled the bike forward until that same paddle went back on the ground, then measured the distance between those two marks you would get the roll out. Typical measurements for rollout are between 70 and 83" Most typical is 72" If you are going to be doing more drag racing than general duning, I'd go for a 21" or 22" tall rear. - Jared

I think you can get the stockers up to like 28mm but not really sure. IMO its not worth jacking around the stockers. They are kinda crappy carbs I think. One of the first things I ditch any time I do a build. Their choke system is crap, especially with that little crossover tube, and they are mikuni. Sorry, but I've never been a fan of mikuni carbs. They don't really have much adjustment to them. Then the bowls have to be entirely removed to change out the main jet, which is really gay. Then if you remove the TORS you have to drill and tap them to get them to idle correctly. JMO. I think you can get them up to like 28mm though. Never done it so I can't really give you any tips or tricks. Sorry. - Jared

PM returned.

LOL yeah, I don't keep stock stuff around very long. I'm not going to actually put anything on the bike until I have every single part i want for it though. Buying everything brand new and plan to do the entire build all at once.

I've tried just about every setup out there, short of the big huge drag race setups. I had (and still have) a set of gorr ported woods cylinders. If he were still around I would tell you to go get that port job, because I have never had and kinda doubt I will ever find another port job that made the power those cylinders did down low. I've had decked stock cylinders, ported stock cylinders with dune ports, woods ports, cleanup ports, 4mm setups with quite a few different cylinder setups. The cylinders that came on the red banshee I just got aren't too bad of a setup. They have some kind of a dune / midrange port for the 4mm crank that's in that particular shee and it runs pretty hard. I'm going to stick a cub on there though. LOL! I don't think I will ever go back to stock cylinders. I plan on putting a cub on my 06 banshee as well. The cubs are probably the last thing I would try for a trail bike. Yes, it can be done, but like I said before... its a whole lot of the wrong kind of power for trail riding. Maybe if you have the super-dooper clutch skillz and can somehow ride it like a trials bike, maybe... but probably not. :shoothead:

There mine don't touch! Grrrr!  -
That's a bummer. I take girls out riding with me sometimes and if I don't have a second bike up and running for them to ride, they jump on with me. I've gotton used to riding double with girls after this past year. If you have someone who knows what's going on and how to ride double its actually kinda fun I think. I had a girl who would do small jumps and stuff with me on ol blue. It was a blast. That would be a huge bummer to get a ticket for that. Especially if both parties are wearing helmets. I guess maybe I've just been spoiled by our dunes here in wyoming since no one ever patrols them. I think all this past year I saw sheriffs out there maybe 3 times, and all 3 times was because there was an accident and someone needed life flighted out. - Jared

Tear it apart and check it out. I've never been around an RD tranny. I know the RZ transmission will work, as its what I use in almost all my banshees. - Jared

Just a thought, but when was the last time you did a compression check? Pull your plugs and kick it over somewhere dark and look at your plugs and be sure you are getting consistant, hot spark action.

Agreed, yes, there are things you can do to a cub to make them run more like what you are looking for, but that kind of defeats the purpose of getting the cylinders in the first place. For the money you would spend "fixing" them to run more bottom end and midrange, you could have had your stock cylinders ported more for what you are looking for, and probably cheaper. My first cub setup I ever did I tried to de-tune them after I ran them the first time, to make them better for just general dune riding. I had a set of K&T ported stock stroke cubs, 65mm bore. I was running them with a 4mm crank, had them decked, and made up for the deck height with some cut domes. Yes, it moved the powerband significantly lower in the RPM range, but it was still a violent hit and would spin the tires like a mofo every time it would hit. It got even more retarded on dirt. I never hooked up until 4th gear, sometimes 5th. That was with a set of cubs that were de-tuned, with 33PWK and T5 pipes. After that I gave up and figured I would just learn how to ride it in the dunes with a normal cub setup. I got another set of cub cylinders, this time set up for the 4mm crank, had K&T port them again, got some 35 PWK's and some CPI in-frame pipes. Ran MUCH better, but again, the powerband was all top end and it would hit like hell all at once. Yes, I got used to it and actually got pretty damn good at riding it out in the dunes and loved it. But it took some time getting used to how the power would hit, and it made an awesome drag racer out on the dunes with friends. My 4mil cub was a bit slower than most, due to the weight of my bike. I had a swingarm that was WAY beefier than anything I would ever need and had a fully gusseted frame. I wasn't looking to save weight, I wanted a good ride, and having the heavier bike and aftermarket suspension definitely made the package. To the point: just get some stock cylinders ported for low end power and you will be a LOT happier and have more money in the bank in the end. - Jared

I'll take them! PM'd you! -
What makes all you guys think its sold? I never said it was sold. I said make offers, I'm not going to give them to the first person who makes an offer... that would kind of defeat the purpose of putting them out there and asking for offers. I'm guessing somewhere around $250 for the cylinders, $300 with the pistons and head. Oh yeah, I only do paypal, and if you live out of the country its going to cost more to ship to you, so add that on...
