  1. I like the idea of the HIP skid plate. If your are out in trails that are jagged and rocky, you probably need to be looking for a stainles steel unit. IF you are in the sand or rarely need the protection of a skid plate then I would definitely give that Durablue unit a try.
  2. I maybe a fag, but you seem to have a dancing banana. I am not sure which is worse.
  3. It's not raining yet. Hopefully it won't until I get moved in.
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...1QQcmdZViewItem Some one here needs this. It's not really something I am interested in at the moment, but it is really cool. :geek:
  5. That's awesome! Even if they do wind up being stock length, they are pretty cool.
  6. If you get the body work made out of fiberglass (HS Customs or Fullbore knock-offs on eBay) then you don't have to worry about the flex agent and all the BS associated with painting plastic. Have you considered a vinyl wrap job like Magic Mike has on his crankenstein and Blaster? I found this seat cover on eBay this morning. You should buy it for your bike. It's pretty hot. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Banshee-ATV...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. I can post pictures if things that I have painted white, but I think I only painted one or two things white and that wouldn't be nearly as annoying as the multiple pictures of things that I painted metallic blue and black. It seems that I remember that someone on here recently posted pictures in the Images forum of a bike with a blue frame, white plastics, and a white seat cover with blue flames. I thought it was pretty nifty looking. The person might be one of the Harstell Racing brothers if my crappy memory is functioning this evening. I may be in a similair situation as you as I kind of like the color of my new frame. It doesn't seem to be purple like you say yours is though. The HS Customs Screamline plastics (actually fiberglass from what I can tell) and seat are the direction I am leaning at the moment. They come in white with a black seat, so I could have the white painted later.
  8. It depends on what size sprockets you are using. I am running a +4" arm with what I seem to remember is a 14/42 tooth gearing combo and I think I have 114 links in my chain. If you are really hard up for the info, I willfigure out for sure what I have tomorrow or the next day. It won't be too much trouble, as I can see the stamped in teeth numbers on the sprockets and I have the links I removed from the 120 link chain I bought in my tool box some where. :geek:
  9. I have had two LSR axles, bent both of them and LSR wouldn't honor the warranty. I was the original purchaser. I have had several friends have similair experiences with LSR and their axles. G-Force is the way to go. RMATV is the Walmart if ATV stores, they will take back or exchange anything no matter what's wrong with it or who did it. I f'ed up a Wiseco piston during installation once because I wasn't paying attention to where the lower ring locating pin was (while drinking beer). I basically broke a chunk off the piston when I tapped the piston through the ring compressor with a dead blow hammer. I called up RMATV the next day to order a new piston, the lady on the phone asked why I was just ordering one piston for a Banshee, I told her, and she said send it back and we'll send you a new one. If that's not good customer service, I don't know what is.
  10. I shall be purchasing Engine Ice now that I am in the land of ports.
  11. Most ATV plastic body work is made by a process called thermoforming or vacuum forming. Basically a hot sheet of plastic is put over a form and then sucked or pressed down on to the form. The resulting part then must be trimmed to make a finished product. If you call one of the nice folks at Fullbore, they will take a piece of plastic that has been trimmed off, put it in a envelope, and send it to you for free. Make sure you ask for the Sparkldy Blue color. They will actually do custom colors for you for free as long as you are willing to wait for it and their plastic vendor (GE) makes the color.
  12. I can make something up if you like. It sounds like you know about at much as I do about deionized water and distilled water. I have a feeling that distilled water may be like DI water, but with less stuff in it. You should atleast use DI water as it is the ions in the water that propogate galvanic and bimetallic corrosion. :geek:
  13. Alright, I'm here. I move in to my new place tomorrow. It looks pretty nice on the outside (I hadn't seen it yet). Any ideas as to which DMV is the fastest to get through?
  14. Is distilled water the same as deionized water? I am not trying to be a smart ass, I really don't know. Deionized water is what you are supposed to use. I have noticed they sell both at the grocery store and have often wondered what the difference was. :geek:
  15. Oh come on, that was kinda funny.
  16. You mix it with deionized water. You drain the old coolant by taking the hoses off the water pump. Water Wetter is not an anti-freeze, so be aware of that if you are in a climate that sees freezing temperatures.
  17. If you're not attached to your IMS tank, you might call and look into getting a color sample of their blue plastic. It has sparkldy stuff in it and might be close to the same color as your frame. I don't think your current setup looks as bad as I thought it was going to. It probably doesn't look as bad as you think it does either. That seat cover probably has to go.
  18. Now, that's funny. I retract the gay joke I made at your expense, earlier, in another thread.
  19. It's not good for your health to anger a pregnant woman. :ermm:
  20. Holy crap........your first post in a month!
  21. The KTM engines also carry the stigma that they are incredibly difficult to work on. This would be in reference to the engine itself and not the bike packaged around it. The KTM engines tend to be some of the highest tech engines on the market, but then again they are Austrian and weird.
  22. The guy had the factory pipes even. What makes things worse is that this particular individual was offering me advice based on my thread in the suspension about swingarm length. At first I thought the person was making a joke, that is until he got worked up about the smart ass comment I made back to him. Then the guy wouldn't believe when I suggested to him he didn't need an extended swingarm. I was also made aware (by him) that he races and wins all the time.
  23. There maybe something wrong with me. I am checking in to that, but just not very hard.
  24. Shit, that's not bad at all. My diesel mechanic buddies spent a crap load more than that on their guns or atleast they claim they did. One of them won a two stroke scooter from Snap On because he spent the most money in the sales area in a month.
  25. My friend from high school is a gunnery sargeant at Pendelton. He's on a float in the Gulf somewhere right now. He's been to the Gulf region several times, Afghanistan once, Okinawa twice, and I think Korea once. I don't know how he does it, but he really likes it. He seems to enjoy the fact that he gets to shoot at people every once in awhile as well. It's fun to go down there and hang out with him on a weekend. I've got to go shooting with him a few times and that's really neato. He's hooked me up with a ride in an EFV and a Stryker in exchange for some Long Beach GP tickets.
