No, but thanks anyway. The spelliing thing is annoying, but it doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother others here. Speaking for myself, I am just flipping you some shit. If you are willing to read my un-proofread, poorly typed posts, then I will certainly tolerate yours (I am still going to make fun of you every once in awhile, but that's hard to avoid anyway). If I thought you were a twat, I wouldn't talk to you.

It all depends on the type of powder coating used and what method and/or temperature it is cured (not really the proper term) at. If the powder is cured in an oven at less than 250 degrees F or an IR cured coating is used then the joints should be fine. Chroming a is a different animal. A basic chrome job usually consists of three chemical baths. Two of them would essentially destroy the internals of a ball joint either by plating material to the ball or by dissolving or sealing the race (socket). The third bath (actually the first in the process) will remove and strup any lubricant from the joint. There are quite a few chroming processes out there. What I mentioned is the most simple and probably the most common in the lower end of the motorsport industry. So, back to my original question, are the guy chroming their arms and living with messed up ball joints or are they possible removing the joints and replacing the joints (they would have to be tack or stitch welded in)? I can't really tell in any of the pictures I have seen so far. I am not really interested in purchasing such a thing, but the questions was bothering me this afternoon. :geek:

The spelling is bad, but I hear you're working on it.

Dammit............I can't talk about my career as a manufacturer of racial slurs and other verbal abuse. In reality, my name is Mark, I am 26 years old, and single. I used to work for TRD, but have very recently found myself working for Detroit Diesel. I tend to fiddle with my bikes more than I ride them, but hopefully I will have more free time with my new job, so I might get to ride a bit more. Plus, I am now alot closer to sand which is pretty much the only place I ride these days, but I do have a set of Pure Sports Bandits on wheels for the odd occaision that I am invited to ride on something besides sand. I can't think of anything else really interesting to say about myself atthe moment, but y'all can pretty much ask me anything.

I have heard some interesting things about you Douth Florida pavement guys. Are you guys actually going to show up in Oklahoma this time? I seem to recall that atleast a few people from Florida every year, for the past several years, always say they are going on one of the HQ rides in Oklahoma, but they never show up. I seem to remember one of the classic excuses being that sand racing was for pussys and that's why no one from Florida showed up. Are you sure that 5.8 is a 1/4 mile time? It kind of seems like an 1/8 mile time. But, what the hell do I know, certainly nothing about engines or racing.

Alright that's one good, credible vote for fastener guy. Does anyone have anything positive to say about Alloyboltz recent bolt kits?
-
I wrote the guy's name down, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. I am contemplating writing a dirty letter to the DMV headquarters regarding my experience. I am not sure if it's worth my time though.

Alright, I am actually going to order a bolt kit today (not just talk about it). Who should I buy it from, Alloyboltz or FastenerGuy?

There are atleast two chemical baths involved in even the crudest chroming process. Either of those two baths would noticeably ruin the ball joints. If the joints are not ruined, then I am missing something..................... :ermm:

That's either really odd generalization you are making with that statement, or you have no idea what you are talking about. Most of the large engines from the builders you mentioned use a PVL style ignition and not OEM stuff. The smaller motors they build generally do not have a reccomended igition setup and people use whatever they want. There is generally nothing wrong with an OEM CDI unit, but it's pretty hard to beat the benefits of a Dyna box with a Nology coil and wires.

I think there is a race class for on-pavement shifter carts that use a Banshee or RZ engine. Maybe there is some info to be gathered there?

JLATV sells them as does Dennis Kirk I think. Using those swingarm extensions is a pretty ricky deal. I don't think I have seen a set yet that I would trust. There are even some retards out there making +6" versions. I don't believe the design of any of them has enough of a safety factor calculated into the thickness of the material used in several areas of those extensions. You are probably better off with a new swingarm. The way I look at it is this, a swingarm breaking is one of those things that can kill you really easily. It's probably not a good idea to be a tightwad on that part of your bike. You are better off learning to ride better rather than put a +2" extension on your bike.

I have noticed several sets of chrome OEM Banshee a-arms for sale. How are people doing this? It seem that the chrome process would ruin the non-replaceable ball joints.

Congratulations on getting it fixed!

I went to the DMV office on Powell off of I205 on Saturday to finish gettin my red bike titled and take the written test for my motorcycle endorsement on my license. I apparently ran into the worst DMV emplyee that has ever lived. Noto nly did he decide that I needed to have my red bike inspected by the state patrol (I am pretty sure it was because he didn't want to walk outside in the rain). So now I get otgo through that BS on a Wednesday mroning because that's the only time they do it. I also didn't get to take my written test because he said they weren't giving the motorcycle tests on Saturday. There was only one other employee that seemed to be working there and there were a ton of customers. I am fairly certain that I have bever been so pissed off at another person in my whole life. If I wasn't pretty sure I would have gone to jail I would have anatomically rearranged that guy. Fuck................I am still pissed off at that guy. I mean some supervisor somewhere out there ought to have their foot consistently up that guys ass for being the definition of lazy incompetence. :: :: :: :: :: :: ::

Honestly, I picked a brown banana this morining that could spell better then that guy. I am pretty sure I could atleast type and communicate in a sensible fashion when I was 14 years old.

I am pretty sure a set of three cannot be had for less then $1k.

I am going to call B.S. on that too.

I have never used them myself, but Works shocks are known to be an extremely good product for their cost. BenBB onhere has a pretty good relationship with Works and he may have even used those shocks before. The Black Widows are relatively new and I haven't seen anyone with them on here that I can recall.
-
They are the lightest shock on the market for an OEM style Banshee suspension and they offer considerably better performance than a Marvin Shaw shock. I suppose it all comes down to what that's worth to you. In most cases a TCS, Works, or Elka solution is probably more reasonable for most folks.
-
They are nitrogen sprung (no mechanical springs). I am pretty sure that is what is going on my triple's frame. I can probably come up with a contact at fox that should be able to give you decent pricing (still alot of money).

The larger portion of the linkage may be in backwards. Post up a picture and we'll sort you out.
