  1. MAN>>>>I love this place. Ive been looking for a replacement for Yamaha gaskets for DAYS. thanks for the post man. I just found some silicone hose here in Sacramento. Not one auto shop carries the stuff. I had to call a hydraulic shop called fluidtech to get the sheet. and Im getting a foot and a half of the stuff for 7 bux. Sweet. My gaskets fail under my claps constantly. Im always getting replacements from the stealer for BUX. and here is the replacement.
  2. It looks as if you have stock suspension on there as well. Upgrading suspension will give you major power gains....because of the traction you will aquire. Traction is a beautifull thing, and when you have the suspension to keep the tires to the ground....and minimize wheel spin, you will notice huge riding performance gains which in turn will make you faster. Id go with the cool head and 21 cc domes.
  3. I bought my USED set of LONESTAR arms +2+1 on fleabay for 350.00. then had them powdercoated....75. so for 425, I got brand new LS's with Heim Joints. I then spent about 1300 on front and a rear (rebuilt) shocks from TCS. AWESOME improvement over stock. and major power gains. now that I have traction from my suspension.
  4. Ive ran with XCT's and HD's ... I like the HD's better. BUT ... I LOVE my new Maxxis's. best 22" i've ever ran.
  5. Im thinking the same thing. its really powdery fine dust. but when I swiped my finger inside my intakes....it was all gritty in the there. then when I took it off .... you could see dust all over the carbs. but fine dust...as I mentioned. I wanted some feedback to confirm...so thanks man.
  6. here is a pic of me runnin a dez race with my RazR II's on . 22 rears and 23 fronts. I love um. But I hated them before I widened her up. I think it was too tall for stock suspension. another
  7. LMAO>>>>after going thru 3 stock axles I finally went to a Lonestar. BUT what I hear is the sheet....is an LT500 axle on the shee. I hear once you adapt to that axle...its almost impossible to bend or break. One day I may rebuild my rearend using the LT500 axle. just for fun. Have fun out at Glamis....Im planning on making it for Thanksgiving weekend. I have never been...so I wanted to be there on the biggest day of the year. After I visit once, I will then go on off days to enjoy the dunes. But I want to party...and I hear its the place to be on T-Day.
  8. I fkd up. I went riding with a K&N filter and no sock! Anyway, where I went riding it was a dust bowl. Heck....a powder bowl. Anyway, forgot to put the sock on and when I got there I said Fuk it. well ... I shouldnt have. yesterday I pulled off the K&N hoping to not find anything in my intake. But to the contrary. Its freakin full of dirt. Real fine powdery dirt. wipe it with a towel and it looks like mud on the towel. Pulled off the intake and yup....got dirt in my carbs too. Took everything off. cant tell if there is any in the reeds. looked in there with a flashlight and they look real clean. there was hella dirt in the carb caps. cleaned it out mostly with starter fluid and compressed air. i used the started fluid cuz it really does a good job blowing and cleaning at the same time. what do you guys use to clean out carbs with? and do you think I need to go further into the engine? should I take off the reeds to get a better look in there? LMAO...I have a desert race this weekend and Im leaving tomorrow night. Nothing like some last minute work to make things interesting. I was going to leave it alone....not wanting too look inside afraid of what I may find. And bam. So intead of getting some rest and preparing for this weekend....I am workin on the shee. Gotta Love these bad boys! I will be pre-runing 60 miles. then racing for 120 miles. didnt thing I should leave the mud in there and let her clean herself out. wouldnt that be cool if there was an automatic cleaning button. like our dishwashers and ovens have. lol
  9. DLNoss is the owner and maker of noss cool heads. awesome product IMO. give him a call...nice guy....excellent customer service.
  10. Kitty relocation program .... with a trip to the doctor. Catch them in a trap. Take them to the pound...have them spayed/neutered for free.....release them. least they wont keep populating the planet. People that torture animals have WAY bigger problems than just that. Normal people with Normal upbringing's dont just go out and start mutalating Gods Creatures.
  11. Who is in? Just FYI. For anyone interested in dez racing....this one is the shortest on the VORRA schedule. Early registration at the EL CAP Casino at 9 pm. Registration and Tech at the EL CAP from 11 - 5 on Sat. Parade to follow. Parade will go from town out to the pits. racin starts at 6 am on Sun. Award ceremony Mon morn. This is one of the nicer courses on the VORRA series. The more the merier. www.valleyoffroadracing.com pics of past races at... www.cougarfreakphoto.com I will be out there Thursday night. Pre running on Fri, and Sat morn.
  12. NE antivibe stem will work. I use Janssen Motorsports. My buddy uses Burgard. Some use Lonestar and other use IMS. All are great stems...but the clamp is what you need to fit the bars. If you order from Janssen the clamp is included with the purchase. They will ask you if you want 7/8 or 1 1/8 clamp. I have the GPR too....awesome purchase man. this combo will take away arm pump. allowing you to ride.....MUCH MUCH longer.
  13. How is the weather out there at Sand Mountain right now? I have been waiting for the summer to pass so we can go ride it. I have been out there on Too Many Hot Days to even bother any more. Any time its hard to breathe cuz of the hot wind....its time for moving indoors. I myself have never had any problems out there ... knock on wood. been goin to sand mountain now for 7 yr's. Camping is great, riding is even better. Have fun and enjoy!
  14. I think its anything over 140 psi per cyl and you should run at least 50-50 pump gas/110 race gas. far as pre mix oil is concerned....there can be only one. BEL RAY synthetic pre mix oil. Used at 32:1 you cant go wrong.
  15. Congrats on the finish. Awesome job. and congrats on the 3rd place victory. NICE JOB. Now that you have done it...will you do it again next year? Ive heard that many a time. Ride a real 450 and it will put the banshee to shame. I have also been told that if I switch to a 450 that I will improve as a racer. But my last race I passed a 450 on a open road in 6th gear. Needless to say he was surprised I was next to him...much less passing his SLOW ass. I pass 450's all the time, NOT PRO's mind you....just am's and expert's 450's. The pro's are freakin fast. I cant keep up with them on my shee....I dont how Im going to keep up with them on a 450. But dudes tell me.....switch and you will keep up. ITs all about the rider....I know. But who knows about next season. but for now....its banshee city.
  16. I run 22' in the rear and 23' in the front. But now that I extended my shee with +2 front and +4 rear end....I like it MUCH better. I found with the stock suspension and 22' rears that I tended to tip more. specially sliding...the tires will grip alot sooner and bite you if your not used to it. once I widened her up....it was no longer an issue. I run them for clearance and for the beefier tire. cant have flats when your 100 miles out from no-where. I would say go for it...you will notice the differences once you start riding on them. You definitely wont be using them for MX. but for mud, root, and rock....the 22's is exactly what we need.
  17. Um....I race dez....but in 150 mile increments....not 250. And I dont have the problems you are discribing. I would think that the top end of the shee would make it as apealing as it does to me. Isnt it like 500-600 miles? that takes more than just a man to do it bro. Not that I know...cuz I dont. Ive only ran 175 miles....and it was a killer. but I plan on finding out . And hopefully its on my banshee. two guys....good luck...let us know how it went. Is this your first one? Did you guys pre-run?-
  18. and the reason for not running a banshee? I have wanted to do one of these races for three yrs now. I will be out there soon. My buddies last yr entered with a bombadier (sp) wrecked it at mile 450 and then a buggy landed on it. demolished it. the dude that wrecked on her had broken his ribs and puctured a lung. the buggy that landed on the quad sent his helicopter to rescue him. gotta love good stories. they are skipping this yr due to funds. Is this your first yr running it? what class are you running in? how many in your team?
  19. LOL....too bad we are on a banshee geek forum ... instead of a computer geek forum. Got any banshee problems? lol
  20. I would say suspension. Whats all that power going to do, if you cant keep the tires on the ground. Traction is a wonderfull thing, and will make you faster. new suspension and new tires. hold on cuz its gonna be a new ride. after I pumped my motor, i did suspension, and after I did the suspension I did the bars, neck and stem. also put on a dampner/stabilizer. I then went from being tired from riding her...to not being tired at all. I can ride for days now.
  21. LMAO....never thought of that with the cop thing. true tho. I notice nice cars ... why wouldnt cops. gonna have to go buy a honda civic for beer nights. lol.
  22. Lots of debate on this one. do a search on it ... and you will get major technical information. as far as Im concerned.....that oil is fine. But if you were going to switch....I use Bel-Ray 80wt. Fact...I use bel ray everything...the only liquid they dont make is coolant. good stuff.
  23. TY sir..... think I can get in 200 posts today....LMAO...another month for pro.....woot.
  24. jsut needed a reason to post my 500th thread. WOOT . Boy I feel older for some reason. 500 threads and Im still an Amateur? whats the next level...and how many posts to get there?
  25. shouldnt you be running 110 octane with your PSI so high? I thought anything over 140 PSI should at least be running 50-50. Also...I hear the more ponies ... the harder shee is to shift. Might not be something to consider. Depending on your riding of course.
