  1. I used to run an RK O ring "rivet link" type, but grew tired of the press fit - no master link design (the press tool required to assemble / dis-assemble is expensive$$$), although it worked great in the sand, and only stretched a little when new. Now I run the DID ATV X-Ring (was designed specifically for ATV's according to DID) with a conventional master link and I'm much happier with it, it does seem to capture and hold the lubricant better, and for some reason is actually easier to clean, stretched about the same as the RK. Plating on the side plates is way more durable too on the DID. Actually Scott, there is a very noticible difference visually between the two, the instructions that came with my DID X-Ring had a special note regarding the orientation of the "X" ring placement when installing the master link to promote propper sealing / lubrication retention. I think they both have the same design principle, but the X-Ring does a better job as a result of more surface area.
  2. Carbon fiber what?
  3. We'll be doing plenty of trips this season, we'll get together some time. Travis bought a new truck, toy hauler, and sand rail, so needless to say he's chomping at the bit to go out too. We may end up going out Halloween too. Have a good time at Pismo.
  4. Polini's for $300 each??? we're going to need to see some pictures.
  5. Shearer makes an awesome top end pipe too (in and out of frame).
  6. Turned out real nice, good job.
  7. I don't think so at all, but I'm not much of a "hill shooter". I enjoy the woops, some of the "drag only" guys do not.
  8. Been there, just prefer Glamis as Dumont is so small and can be dagnerous on a busy weekend. Planning a trip (to Glamis) the 2nd or 3rd weekend in Oct.
  9. You guys may think the Hipers are heavy if compared to a stock or standard aluminum wheel, but they are actually 2.5LBS lighter (each) than a comparable aluminum beadlock....
  10. Sorry I'm late...Happy belated B-Day
  11. I've had ZERO problems from my X33 - mostly sand / desert riding.
  12. Just leave them air'd up, no need to let them down. Looked for you at the show Fri - but never saw you, bummer. When's your first trip to Glamis? We'll have to hook up again.
  13. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you.
  14. A little of both, I have a lot of people I need to see / talk with so this is the easiest way to get in touch with all of them at once, plus I gotta' check out all the new / wild stuff...
  15. I'll be there all weekend..anyone else going? http://www.sandsportssupershow.com
  16. If there were threads un-damaged on the end of the piston rod, chances are the base valve came loose from the shaft. Although I've never heard of this happening on a Banshee rear shock it's an easy fix - if that is what happened...
  17. Caster is adjusted where the upper a-arm mounts to the heim joint, the heim will thread in and out of the a-arm tube, and be secured by the jam nut, you want positive caster (top of spindles "leaned" towards the rear of the bike) I run 8 deg positive.

    SEAT NUBBS?

For what it's worth someone posted a good mod in the tip's & trick's section, or UPP Poly sells replacement seat "nubbins" also...
  19. And you can make it to Glamis in 1 hour?
  20. "Kugel Components" (the hot rod company) actually builds a conversion kit of sorts that allows you to do this very swap. Turns the focus ZX3 into a small block RWD sleeper, I've driven one (we build springs for them)....a hand full but very fun! Had 2 working versions at SEMA last year.
  21. My best advise would be to first determine your tow-vehicle's capabilities (weight ratings, GVW, CGVW, max payload cap, load range of tires, etc...so you can stay within those limmits) Next, look at some trailers and figure which option and layouts of different models you like, setting a budget / price range will help too. I would say get the biggest trailer your tow vehicle and budget will allow, it's nicer to have more room than not enough. I'm partial to WW, Tahoe furry, Next level, Gearbox....Shop around, you have a lot of options.
  22. Good luck brother, hope everything works out for you and your family, stay safe.
  23. It will make a small difference, but IMO not worth the effort. I run a +4 and love it, works great in the sand and in open desert stuff too. The small change in the turning radius is well worth the added stability. I say get the +4...
  24. Where are you located?
