+2 A-arms And Flipped Rims Too Much?
banshee04le replied to txblueshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Unless you are running flattrack or smooth sand...if there is such a thing, offset front rims suck because it moves the center of the tire out away from the hub. This gives leverage to every little bump and transmits them right to your handlebars...bump steer. I tried running them and knew in the first 5 minutes that the added stability did not warrant putting up with how shitty they made my bike feel...and I have a steering stabilizer. +2 arms are all you need IMO. -
Yeah, screw that KFX. Sell it and get yourself a nice car audio system and start tweaking on that in the driveway...see how they like that. A minimum of 3 12's...15's are even better. And at least 1500 watts of sub power...preferably at least 10,000. Of course you need mids and highs to match. I like Boston Acoustics high end shit for mid's and MB Quart tweets sound great and are pretty bulletproof. It takes hours of tuning getting it to sound just how you like...unless you run pink noise through to an RTA...and then you'll still probably want to fu@k with it. It's really fun and bothers the hell out of the neighbors Oh, yeah...what loco said...don't hurt the dogs. Their just having fun when they chase you. Probably the most excitement they get all day.

How Much Have You Dumped Her?
banshee04le replied to txblueshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
You are the banshee MAN dude. Turning and burning through those used banshees like that...and whatever you need NYUK's probably got up on ebay right now. You are working the system OVER. There's probably a federal investigation into your racketeering right now . -
Don't get a crapturd dude. They have a high center of gravity and handle like shit...unless the new shocks really slammed that fu@ker. And unless the engine has been heavily modded, it's a dog.

This is kinda funny really. Isn't it ironic, don't you stink...as Alanis Monostat would say. I've only seen 2 posts of this nature (one hq'er supposedly ripping off another hq'er) and the other one was entitled "nightripper I want my fu@king money!" by, yes...2003bansheeman350. Turned out that nightripper was temporarily unavailable to respond to bansheeman350's inquiries...and bansheeman350 jumped the gun and made a negative post about nightripper. Ironic, don't you stink?

Uhhhh....never mind.

I got my elka's today but I am still waiting for my +2 arms to arrive. It could be another couple of weeks before they get here . Would the elkas ride ok with my stock arms, even though they are setup +2. I would like to put them on now, but I don't want my first ride experience with them to be disappointing. What do you guys think, put them on now or wait until my arms get here?

I don't even know where the gal bladder is or what it does, so you must not need it. I have heard an awful lot about them but I still don't KNOW anything about them... kind of like banshees. Sorry to hear that it's bothering you. I do know that it is definetely a routine procedure. I could cut it out for you and save you a few bucks.

Any1 Want Sum Smelly Muddy Cruddy Parts
banshee04le replied to 99screaminshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Most insurance company's require that you actually pay the premium , in which case...they usually take care of you on something like this. -
How much are you willing to pay for these anyway? I don't have any or know any one who does...and I haven't rode a banshee with them, but I would seriously bet that there performance on a banshee would be much worse than a new pair of properly setup works doubles which you probably know are like $300 new. Just watch how much you pay, thats all I'm saying, cause if your doing shit right, you will send them out to be properly re-valved, if you want max. performance...so add $150 to what you got in them. Or just slap them on and hoosier on down the trail.

That $500 dollar swingarm is fully TIG welded chrome moly brother. Any body can MIG weld or stick weld some shit together my friend. No offense, but I think if you are going to go around offering to shorten and lengthen swingarms for people, like you have in your last couple of posts...while indicating that you have not actually done it before, you should at least divulge your level of welding training and experience for us. I know Tungsten would be glad to give you the TIG exam. Of course you don't need to TIG a mild steel stock arm but what kind of process was you thinking of using on these swingarms anyway? What size and AWS specification of electrode do you plan on using? What welding equipment (manufacturer and model) do you own? I know and service them all. Are you familiar with building a jig for swingarm modifications to insure proper alignment? I would be very curious of these things if I were to concider sending my swingarm to you for a hack job.

I'm sure he doesn't mean you loco. You should be proud that you have never got into that really. I think what he is trying to say is that maybe people shouldn't look down so much on the guy who does...and the guy who does...can still be proud, i.e. a good person too. If you are happy and haven't needed to explore those types of things, take it from me, it's not worth diving into just to check it out. You are probably better off where you are at. I only regret that you and I couldn't hook up on the trail some time and burn one . -
I have the same arms on order with Gary. I ordered the elka duals without rezzies. I talked to eric at elka and he said that the performance difference would not be noticeable with a rec rider. If you are running balls to the wall racing, lap after lap on a grueling track the rezzies will provide more consistant damping by keeping the shock cooler. Damping ability can fade if the shocks get too hot. Rezzies can possibly extend time between rebuilds as well. What sold me on no rezzies right now is that, when I send them in for rebuild in a year or two or whenever they need it, the rezzies can be added at that time for virtually no more cost than the price difference of ordereing them with the rezzies now. They can add remote rezzies or piggyback. I was going to get them with the rezzies but my computer shot craps and I had to buy a new one By the way, you can order from elka direct, and avoid the possibility of a middle man conveying the wrong information about weight, a-arms and riding style, resulting in improper shock setup. The number is 1-800-557-0552. Ask for eric. He can answer any questions you have and take your order. They are kicking ass right now and getting the shocks out in like 1 week!

PM mrmatt. He is known to be the man when it comes to shortening swingarms around here.
