  1. Back at ya! Anyone got a pic of a green banshee. Don't think I ever seen one.
  2. brugal brugal brugal brugal! I don't know what it is, but I like it! BBBRRRRUUUUUGGGGAAAAAALLLLLLL
  3. Taking it to the next level, a suspension system without springs, using only electromagnetic technology, could be made. Unfortunately that shock setup would weigh conciderably more than you and your quad combined.
  4. Look at all that space in front of the engine on those trx's. No problem getting some huge crankenstein crotchrocket motor in there. I guess they move the engine back to improve handling but it looks stupid and empty to me. Good place to keep your lunch warm, I guess.
  5. The yfz would win by a little if both were stock. Both with pipes and filter like you described would be close. The banshee, however has way more modifiable power potential and you could build it to roost the shit out of any yfz.
  6. Yeah, that guy don't know what he is talking about. Banchetta recommended RAISING the needle, which will RICHEN the fuel charge, and LARGER pilots which = richer. But he says I can understand if he was confused between raising the needle or raising the clip, but I don't understand his comment about the larger pilots.
  7. How about a good redneck name like Melvin, Orville or Cooter How about just calling him Snake. How about Boy. You'll probably be calling him that all the time anyway. Now's your chance to make sure that he is Rich all of his life. Anything that starts with a D is pretty strong.... Dave, Dirk, Dillon, Darren, Devon, Dennis, Dan, Doug, Dick, Dork, how about Denzel.
  8. How bout a Booooooaaaaaaawwwwww sound? Maybe a 2" port 3" long towards the back of the box. Get some pimpin bass that way. LMAO Good one dude, a ported air box .
  9. Yeah, sounds lean to me too. I think you should take your carbs apart and REALLY clean them this time. I can almost gaurantee that all that was needed when you replaced the float valve assy was a good cleaning and adjustment. Your problem right now I would bet is mains that are at least partially blocked by some foreign matter (dirt or old fuel that has gone to varnish). You have to blow air or carb cleaner under pressure through all jets and passages. Come back if that don't fix it but that is where you need to start. Tell us what mains you have when you get in there.
  10. Good thing we've got the experts around here to seperate fact from fiction. Thanks Jim! At least by this time next year, you will be seeing my engine.
  11. I ported my own reed cages with information from the hq here and had a shop mill my head .030. Other than the fatty's, the rest of the engine is stock. If you plan on making more than 60hp with the juice, get your crank welded. I haven't, but that is just because I have decided that I want a stroker crank, but I don't want to tear apart a perfectly good motor. So I'm not worried about it. If my crank goes, I'll just be forced to get my stroker even sooner. You don't have to do anything to the motor to run the nos if you don't want. Taking .030 off the head surface is a great mod though. I don't have to downshift as much now to get the engine in the power band. It will lug a lower gear now and pull itself back into the powerband. Race fuel (at least a mix) is required for an extra margin of safety when running nos. More power means more heat and pressure in the combustion chamber. Hotter surface temperatures (cylinder, piston, spark plug) contribute to the possibility of predetonation in the cylinder, which will melt your shit down fast. High octane race fuel has greater resistance to predetonation. I highly recommend it.
  12. Excellent answer oldturtle! I've thought about getting a powervalve motor someday, but now I will just dream about a good drag ported stroker. Thanks!
  13. Thanks! I was cruising along about 80mph when I snapped that. Took about 4 tries to get that one.
  14. 2stroke or 4stroke, a properly setup wet system is safer and capable of making much more power than a dry system. Anybody who really knows anything about NOS will tell you the same. Like fast frankie said, do not advance your timing and use at least a 50/50 mix of race gas. Dry systems use crankcase pressure and a special manifold to pressurize you carburator float bowls, which forces more fuel through your carb jetting to supply the needed demand. A wet kit uses a fuel pump to supply regulated fuel pressure to the nozzles. This allows for more precise control of the no2/fuel mix at the nozzle. If imagestation isn't f'd up right now, you can see some of the plumbing and wiring of my wet kit below (You won't see much wiring because I did such a clean job of installing it ).
  15. Good idea in theory I guess. But not very practical .
  16. I say kill you
  17. Are you freakin blind or just illiterate.
  18. Yep, just multiply by 12. 10ft lbs = 120in lbs
  19. A lean condition could cause it and predetonation do to too much advance or not enough octane could cause it too. But could you please explain why a plug that is too hot would cause it? I don't believe that it would. The spark merely initiates the combustion process. The conditions in the combustion chamber (temperature) that would cause piston meltdown will be determined by the fuel/air ratio, compression and fuel octane. What am I missing here?
  20. No shit. I can put down a 12 pack easy in 3hrs.
  21. Hey Wassup, your officially not a rookie anymore. Whats it like way up there? Must be nice. Sounds like you need new o-rings. Use high temp silicone (I like the gold permatex) in conjuction with new o-rings and you should be good to go.
  22. Thanks guys. That screw must have fell through onto my skid plate. I can't see it, so I am going to drop the skid plate and take a look. Thanks again.
  23. Its by the clutch arm, about the size of your pinky. I think it is supposed to be there, I just don't know why? I dropped a screw on top of the engine and it must have went down in that hole. Where the hell does it go why is it there? Does anyone know what in the hell I am talking about?
  24. Link worked for me. I'm almost ready to buy those pipes even though I don't own anything they will fit. Nice work Duc.
