Elaborate? I've always had good experience with Amsoil as has anyone I've talked to that uses it.

aight, thanks.

Is there a site or some way you can check out a bikes vin to see if it is clear or not? I'm looking at a bike now and he can't find the title so I just wanna do a little research on it for a little peace of mind. Thanks!

Get a negative length swinger for the track. Anywhere from -1 to -2.5. I have a -2.5 and swear by it, whole new bike. As for gearing that's determined by the track you're on. Unless it's a really tight track I'd bump up to a 14 or 15 T front sprocket. The shorter swing arm will help with the rear shock, it'll take hits a lot better due to the reduced leverage. How are you set for front susp?

http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/archive/i...p/t-213519.html Pretty good article, you can adjust the parts that don't apply.

That's bad ass dude, sounds like a fun trip! Any pics or video during?

hmm first you could buy the rest of the exaust, get the header to go with the slip on. Take off your air box lid and possibly buy an aftermarket foam filter. Jet the bike for the mods you decide on. Would you consider a cam a bolt on mod? maybe port the head or whatever. I don't do 4 stroke mods too much, the one I have/ ever had has a pretty decent amount of power. So I'm not much help here.

need help - 1990 banshee? a-arms or j-arm?
Trick2stroke replied to Minkia38's topic in General Banshee Discussion
It was always my understanding also that a arms didn't show up till 91, unsure about this half way throught the year business. Does this clown understand that you have owned a couple of banshee's in your time? -
So you did go through with it? Sweet deal man. Get some more pics of that beast.

I'm another big fan of keeping it as short as possible, it's really preference to a certain point (power wise) But honestly if you just have porting and other bolt on mods you will be just fine with like a +1 or 2 if that. I ran a -2.5 with a ported motor and it was perfectly fine and I loved it. Just takes more riding skill, you can't be as lazy just sittin' back layin' into the power. It's whatever you like.

haha I really don't think he has sold it. But then again maybe there's someone else out there with more money than sense like him.
-
I really hope you're kidding.

just going to take a shit in the dark

Get a roundhouse. Light on. Won't happen again I garantee it! -
Then why have nets? They have more than one purpose.
-
Ah I'm sorry I was confused. Yeah I'd do that trade then for sure.

I don't do competitve hill climbs but I do climb some very steep shit with mine and have had no problems. Just be careful.

LOL I felt compelled to email this character. I had to see what the deal was, I'm thinking he's a clone of the kid who made the banshee video with the "dual carbs, dual plugs, dual exaust and expension and the uh.. uh.. uh... radiator.." ------------------------------------------------------- haha, k I'll take those classes. Maybe when I graduate I can overpay for a less than average 4 wheeler too! You tell me to grow up all the while you're saying to suck your dick and claiming I don't know anything about bikes? What did I say that was inaccurate? WOuld you like to give an example and disprove what I said? You sound upset that I called you out on topics you don't have a clue about and are acting out. --- On Fri, 10/31/08, clifton cheney <[email protected]> wrote: From: clifton cheney <[email protected]> Subject: Re: 400 ex To: [email protected] Date: Friday, October 31, 2008, 1:17 PM Ok mister Barry Manlow why dont you take a couple of classes to learn a little more about bikes. And while you are at it suck my dick because I just sold it to someone who knows bikes and got 6200.00 for it ass hole.. Ps Grow the fuck up --- On Fri, 10/31/08, <[email protected]> wrote: From: <[email protected]> Subject: Re: 400 ex To: [email protected] Date: Friday, October 31, 2008, 11:35 AM haha wow, you've been racing for 22 years and this is the kind of response you send me? I would take you for an E-raged 14 y/o right now. I actually have a few bikes, I saw this ad posted on an internet forum that was making fun of how rediculous it was. I'm not even in your state friend and not now nor do I ever forsee myself being in the market for a 400 ex. I actually have a few bikes, 05 CRF450R with a few goodies, a full long travel 06 YFZ hybrid which uses an 85 hp banshee engine. (pv'ed, ported, 4 mm stroker) and a banshee I use for fire roads, trails, and wide open riding. I keep them at a friends house who owns an 05 450R and a yz250f. I've ridden a fair share of bikes. Why would you "bore out" a 400 ex that has such a small amount of hours on it? You didn't gain much of any power unless you resleeved it with a bb sleeve, otherwise they just did a clean up bore which was completely unnessacary on a new bike. You seem like a tool who overpays for everything and takes it to the dealer to adjust the valves and change the oil. I don't believe you've been racing for 22 years. You will never get half of what you put into a quad, they depreciate fast and no one in their right mind is going to pay new prices for a used trail bike. You're delirious. --- On Fri, 10/31/08, clifton cheney <[email protected]> wrote: From: clifton cheney <[email protected]> Subject: Re: 400 ex To: [email protected] Date: Friday, October 31, 2008, 8:07 AM First of all if your broke ass cant afford a bike like this when you are looking on CL put a max price of 150.00 so the bikes in your price range will show up. This bike was purchased brand new from Honda Suzuki world a couple months ago I paid 6400 including tax. The whole exhaust cost 589.00 and the jet kit was 200.00 and all the pro armor was 1200. I also had it tuned and bored out after 25 hours on the bike.I have all the paper work to prove it. I race bikes and have been riding for 22 years. I have had more bikes than your broke ass can imagine. Does your dumb ass think I should take about a 3000.00 dollar hit on a 55 to 60 hour used bike, I dont. If you want to run your mouth put your bike on the line (If you even have one) and lets race. Let me know where and when you piece of shit broke ass craigslist faggot. --- On Thu, 10/30/08, <[email protected]> wrote: From: <[email protected]> Subject: 400 ex To: [email protected] Date: Thursday, October 30, 2008, 9:46 PM 6500 for a used bike? First of all 400 ex's are 6000 out the door BRAND NEW. Did you pay 3 grand for a jet kit and exaust? You could have almost any balls to the wall fully modded bike out there for 6000 used. I see full mx set up yfz's LTR's Raptors and banshee's for less. If you paid 9000 for that bike someone seriously took advantage of you. Just a reality check, you're only going to get laughed at with that ad. On a side note, it "eats" your banshee? Do you know how to ride a 2 stroke? That in it's self is a rediculous statement and will only make people laugh at your add even more. If you want this thing to sell you will drastically lower the price and take false statements out of your ad. Sorry for being so harsh but I felt compelled to try and get through to you.

LOL where to begin with this guy.. 6500 for a used bike? You could have almost any balls to the wall fully modded bike out there. I see full mx set up yfz's for less. This guy is rediculous. 9000? Someone took advantage of this dumb ass.

Yeah the susp. would need to be reworked for mx and the swinger I'd sell it and go for a short negative length swinger, aside from that it seems like you'd have a pretty sick mx bike. I'm not sure what the cbr's are selling for but an 05 cbr and a grand? Seems a bit steep to me, maybe the cbr and a few to 500 seems a little more reasonable. It's your call, it depends on how bad you want a quad.
-
Get a - length swinger and you'll hook up a lot better. Far easier to wheelie but at the same time it's not uncontrolable, the front end will stay down if you want it to.
-
I wouldn't say better off, unless he's trying to race at a national level. Otherwise you'll spend about the same, and if you like the banshee, like being different then I think it'd be worth it even if it costs more. Cost is going to depend on how you approach you MX mods. For instance, obviously you're going to want an axle, a arms, shorter swing arm, and susp. This is where the money is at.. If you use the yfz a arms and have some yfz shocks reworked by TCS or Works or some other susp. company then you could have a pretty nice front end for less then a grand easy. The stock swinger you could have shortend but in all honesty you'll be glad you made the switch to a round house, funds permitting. Then the rear shock can just be redone by a susp. company. Axle, you could get buy with a G-Force. They seem to hold up well. Engine, you'll want some "low/mid" pipes like paulturners (my favorit) but really if you get porting you'll want to see what your engine builder reccomends. Same goes for the carb set up, you may not need to run a 2-1 set up. There's really a lot of small things you can do to help here and there. Like the YFZ front spindles/hubs allow you to run the dual piston calipers up front for better stopping power coming into the corners. A steering stabilizer will become your best friend also. Really beyond that you just need to get out there and practice practice practice and get the feel of your bike.

Banshee or 450? Anyone make the switch?
Trick2stroke replied to zabobmx's topic in General Banshee Discussion
For the type of riding you're describing I would go with the banshee. A -2 swinger, some decent suspension, billet impeller and other odds and ends bring it up to be a fantastic trail bike in my opinion. The banshee is hands down the most comfortable bike out there again my opinion and they're so much cheaper to buy and then maintain. The money you save can easily update the susp. and brakes. You can use the yfz calipers and spindles etc... for th same updated stopping power. The -2 swinger some +1 forward a arms correct the handling, a billet impeller and or an oversized radiator and the banshee will never over heat again, steering stabalizer for comfort and controle. The list goes on.. Now as for the track that's where the 450's in my eyes start walking away from the banshee simply because you can't just change the geometry of the frame like you can the components. The banshee geometry doesn't allow for high end true longtravel set ups. Hence my hybrid project you may notice in my sig. I want to get another banshee as soon as I can to do the type of riding you're describing. -
You're going to need all the electrical from the rz also. If they're in good shape that's not a bad deal.
