  1. yep 5th straigt season on the 535 same pistons, crank, clutch etc have changed the cases and i've gained about 60lbs. and had the crappy tires on it seemed to run ok. plus i ran it super hot and hot lapped it saturday night ran a full tank 2.5 gallons of alky through it that evening non stop wheelied the shit out of it at times and shot that bitch through the roughest ruts and hardest braking bumps/ hows that for "dune racing" i think i qualify for taking the tampon out and stikin it! HA i rember a superlight all black bike with tribal graphics on it that ran well, of course the orange m+m bike and i beat the strip up all night it seemed and a lil skinny guy on a white and blue banshee he'd ride the shit out of that. had a blast racing those bikes. the most impressive bike i feel was newts? red, yellow cub it was blasting out of the hole was full weight, and running a steel axle and was killing most all the "lightweight" drag banshee's out there thats a real sleeper if i ever have seen one. i would have loved to have had him jockey my turd a few times. guess he liked ole cals nerfbar racer!! i sure enjoyed watching other people ride it and the reaction they gave was cool. thats one of the things i enjoy out of building these bikes for people.. cals bike shifts great ( after you move the shifter up one notch) i never had an issue shifting it under full throttle after that. when the shifter was too low it SUCKED! its all part of the growing pains of a fresh build, last time out we didnt get it tuned really till the last few hours of the trip this time it ran hard enough that we had to actually shift it like i wanted and figured out the shifter was too low.
  2. just wanted to post up that i had a great time at LS this last weekend. everyone that i met was cool as heck and we all had a blast riding together, the ole drag bikes were going good most of the weekend. saturday night was a great drag time, i'd even say that it was as good of a turnout as even the biggest weekends. excellent weather and great group of friends new and old! thanks to andy and the group from m+m for the BBQ saturday night it was a great way to get everyone together TIM from stellar is a great guy and had a blast racing around with him ( even wit the nutty flag guy) hope you have a chance to come back out some time. if you ever need a turd to race when you come i'm sure we can find you something!. also wanted to say thanks to loco for starting all this all those years ago and bringing us all together, its kinda crazy to think that without these forums these trips wouldnt happen and we'd probably never meet even if we were camped in the same area. i had a great time and hope to do this all over again!! thanks to everyone where's my shirt bbc!!

  4. yup you have to have the right needle and packard cna get you dead on with whatever you need. trying to jet a lec with the absolutely wrong needle is like trying to jet a kehien with a rich slow jet and super lean main and only able to move the needle in that. you did that enough youd hate those carbs too. HA

  6. i could pack up the rv with all the extra parts i have.. but dang i get tired of hauling them here and there.. i pretty much have a complete bike in pieces right now. no extra frame ( they sell easy around here) i have a few complete bikes to sell also. ( course nobody wants them)
  7. if anyone wants one i have an entire DRAWER of them i'd sell any of them for 10 bucks each.. to me they are a GIMICK an easy way for some shop to make about 30+ bucks off of you. thats it thats all.
  8. pt pipes BLOW you want bottom end? t-6's build the motor for midrange and HOLD on! they also SOUND sweet. louder and nice and throaty like the t-5 but monster bottom end. they also look killer...
  9. i have 2 "fillers" but no tank.. i have a trail bike also! hoping to go ride a bit on the morning on thursday/ friday or so thats when i usually go out and cruise the dunes. i would guess most of the racing will be friday and saturday. when i have gone early in the past thats what we did tune a bit on thursday and ride the dunes, then play on friday and watch whatever break.... try and fix them ( HA) and then hit it hard ( hangover and all) on saturday.... get drunk get arrested, get screwed by the rangers and/ or pass out in some strangers camp area and wake up to some weirdo letting his dirt bike idle and " warm up" for 30 minutes then realize i'm half way in the street and lying in my own piss and vinegar with my shirt off and some weird skirt on? also wondering why my atc 70 is in a tent around the corner still idleing from when i fell off of it at 4 in the morning, then stumble down to my site pack up and leave. good times...
  10. like i ha ve been sayin yea they make big power, yea they are fast but if the frame can't handle it adn the rest of the engine can't lay it down whats it worth having a broke bike in the pits when everyone else is racin? you better have a bad ass pit bike..
  11. the only thing i am putting my money on with those bigger bikes is which one breaks first... parking lot pimp thats good but just so you know the parking has sand/ dirt/ mud most every weekend YIKES

  14. jelly roll!! thats a good one! i dont rember jumping but one time on the strip.. what i always thought was funny was how tight of a light i could cut at the strip the few times i went and the bitch fest the guy next to me would start after he was a sec behind the light... al well!! the ole turd wagon 485cc bike is going strong still. and to think its 3 + years old and was all left over parts huh.. i had a great time over at the south side. we need to get cal over there and we JUST have to GET A GOLF CART TO CRUISE!! tim get that thing back together!!
  15. ok so i just watched that video!! i can't stop laughing i rember a LONG time ago right after i moved out i had this old couch and when i'd bang my girlfriends on it that sucker would creak and moan just like that bike. what good memories.. i;d say if you ride and get the bike that dirty you probably wash it often and unless your really bored i'd guesstimate that you use a pressure washer when you do that you need to greas stuff back up now its sad to say that the banshee is known for not having grease zerks in most all places that it should. so you have to pull stuff apart and clean, grease, reinstall from time to time. escpecially since your in the mud and dirt a lot...

  17. i'd still do come clean up work and possibly some trans boost port work. IF they are similar intake as a cub. ( no pics at all yet?) as far as a package if you have a stock motor i'd suggest. head, domes ( cub domes?) the stock cylinder studs with a NOSS head DONT work right ( if these are set up like a cub.) BUT its an easy fix. ( differnt studs) billet basket, HD clutch, welded crank ( 400cc?) 421cc FULLY welded crank i'd suggest TZ drive bearing, ported stock cages and dual stage reeds OR v-force reeds, AFM base gaskets and case port, modded stock timing plate, OR billet plate. other things maybe lighten flywheel, DYNA ignition and NOLOGY coil. that combo should result in a nice running motor its just what I would do if i was going to build one.

  19. whats that "easy pull" lever look like? is it just the cr lever set up? the MSR esy pull does SUCK!! i use the quick adjust cr lever/ perch assembly.. i also have used the tusk/ tommey clutch it works great.! i just put a driveline performance? clutch kit in from ebay. into a 421 cub it pulls hard but its on the stock lever and the cluthc is holding up great looked good also.
  20. so what are ytou worried about?? the trans is not a duneable put it back in the cases and shift it through the gears count how many times you can shift it and still turn the trans with drive ( both shafts turn) i assume its possibly a n down and its a something -5 the dog missing is so it ownt shift into 6th. and also how the N down works.. the cases look great they are weld'd and epoxy's it looks like devcon epoxy and thats alky safe. it will be a powerhouse for a dunner.. if your wanting a better trans look into a 1-5 duneable OR if a duneable is not an option you can do what i call a mx trans with all 6 gears.
  21. i'll try and be there friday sometime with cal ( kick start) got his turd running pretty good at least i hope so? hopefully he'll be riding wheelies down the strip before satuday afternoon.. i think we are going to try and trailer over a bunch of bikes so we dont have to ride all the way down the road and across the dunes. maybe just day parking spot i hope. its thursday morning and i have about 3 bikes to try and get ready spent the last few weeks getting everyone elses shit going!! i'm hoping to have some fun with the nerf bar racers this trip!! is BOB coming up wit you tim do you know? i'll have his hot rod with me got to see if it stays together. if he's not there we need to line'em up! i took that stinking twist throttle off so i can actually ride it. might even have the "trail bike" on alky this trip...

  23. loosen the top shock nuts and the spring comes right off.. neato tool tho there are a few small spring compressors available. for low prices...

  25. high octane fuel will burn yellow or orange. first time it did it to me i freaked out also! its not from low octaine they'd deto hard in a cub with domes requiring a high oc fuel.
