i'm thining if i can hit the snakehunt the whole week this year its been a while since i did. hope to get some spot on south camp. the state spots are about 20 bucks a night and yea if there is a TENT in it its reserved and you HAVE to pay for th nights its there. BUT unlike powersports they dont double the site cost for the weekend and make you spend 4 night minimum. it usually works out about the same. BUT i have to drive there and get the spot early thats what sucks i'll just take the camry this time. money will dictate it for me!

if you have a banshee snd DONT have the manual you should get it and read the entire thing fron to back its amazing things that are in there that would answer nearly EVERY question i can see on this site ( unless it deals with aftermarket parts cause we all know they just dont fit right!) the other thing is there are SO many sticky's with TONS of info up there i know of a FEW that i have read entirely and most of the time they answer questions to jetting and yes most of it is from experience!! when i was learning jetting work i never really got it till i started to LISTEN to the bike adn read through the jetting info i could find and the articles on jetting in the MANUAL> also switching to alky helped me in jetting gas amazingly well. using carbs that are easy to adjust made me realize much easier what the motor was soundling like. some things are part experience, and part just plain gut feeling? any more i dont even yank plugs and do plug chops. BUT thats just me... other things like electrical and frame issues adn other tid bits are almost always maintenance related and if you dont know HOW to use a ohm meter go get your dad to show you OR go outside and find some old dude that lives on your block and have him help you there are just some thigns you just cannot fix over the net and over the phone to me i just have to have it here for me to look at and listen to adn see other issues that are wrong... i am also very tired of the whats wrong" oh this is wrong" "oh bullshit cause my dads brothers uncle and over at yahoo answers i read that thats not true" bulshit. the other problem i am seeing at least locally is that the banshee is droped in price SO far that the average person can now own one adn most times the have NO idear what to look for adn buy JUNK for 2000-2500 you can have a nice bike i have one in the garage that SOMEHOW someo one bought for 3000!!! ( and its an 88???) and 2 days later its blown the fuck up. i feel bad for them kinda they were looking adn i said if you want one i'll build you one here adn sell it for that price. they couldnt wait and it sucks for them.. SO there are a bunch of junk getting sold adn its starting to get bad

Throttle Cable Problem , Possible Solution?

and stop listening to that "dude around the corner" that had a banshee back in 1988. -
yea magg it ran great AHHAAHAH
-
are they stock carbs or what? the jetting will depend on the needle thats in them you cannot really cross over mikuni's to kehiens at least i cant. i'd just slap it on adn start it up mik's jet off the needle adn main heavily so usually changing the main does a lot.
-
should be fine. you just need at least 2 qts the bottom end holds 1.5 qt. just never use something thats NOT for wet clutches its amazing you even got the right stuff at the store! must have been an actualy MC guy who helped you instead of all the highschool girls that work at our locla ones. ( nice to look at but DUDUDUDDUH)

can i come see the show all exspense paid?
-
i've seen spurdy backload the hell out of it at least in the higher gears. now i know you can backload 5th with out issue's not sure on the rest. wish i could have seen what the deal was with the extreme.
-
do you need gussets because your aMX racing or what? if you check out cascade they have a very nice picture area for stock chassis that show SOME of the weak points. mostly they are at the steering stop and from loop for the stem top. also down just past that stupid huge chunk of crap inbetween the frame rails they can bend IF your jumping them 100+ft doubles. if you are you should really look into a more lighter and modern 4 poke for MX racing.. or a full aftermarket frame.. a gusset "kit" is kinda awaste of time and $$$$ to me really

pt mids absolutely BLOW.. you cannot convince me otherwise and i can really NEVER see any reason to even run them UNLESS your wife is riding the bike adn your afraid of it making any power..
-
i really like those filter 'adapters" i had a HELL of a time welding stainless the other night i dont know what the hell i did wrong! i cannot get the bead that small. unless i dont use filler it looks ok on small test strips i have been prcaticing on but dang the round stuff is driving me nuts..

put in b8es plugs unscrew the caps off the wires adn see if the end of the wire is rusted that can cause a big end break up if it is rusty and you have the room cut it back a lil and screw the caps back on also when they are off check the ohms with a meter adn if they are over 5k its to dang much, remove the stator cover on the left side adn set the gap with a business card against the flywheel pick up, remove the air box and make sure when you open the throttle they are opening all the way up ( not usually an issue witht he smaller ones) then play with the jetting usually 38-42 slow jet ( more often 40's range) screw 1.5 turns to start needle in middle position and main from a 145-165 ish. nobody can say this is the jetting you need you have to TUNE it
-
i have ported stockers so that they can be made into a 4 mill later. the pwk's are a nice addition along with just a better built carb they are a lil easier to tune i have ran 410-420 mains on stock carbs on cubs so 350's aren't that big.

what in hell are you doing to them?? i have a stock modded trans that shifts ( if you USE it right) if you are wasting transmission you are not hard on them you are abusing them that is you are most likely shifting at the wrong time stuttering the throttle in gear or backloading hard core in gears.
-
banshees wont shift without using the clutch.. you "tune" is extremely important how could you even think that you were going to beat a bike that was probably running well witha bike thats sputtering and pissing out fuel>>> easy mods are ditch the box lid at least BUT you will need a k+n and a plate OR clamp on filters ( i dont like clamp ons much at all) the GBC's are killing you.. i have had stock banshees on dirt with STOCK tires wheelie up after they are tuned well... and also the same bike beat banshees with pHIAPES on them
-
WOW you need a new trans and a modded stock trans set up. probably new shift forks also. new shift shaft, spring detent, nut etc as well replace all that and it will shift so well you wont rember what it was like before.
