100mph drag/trail shee? is it possible?
camatv replied to purpbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
that awesome. and by the way my old 350cc "trail bike was geared at 15/38 with 22" tires. i liked it in the trails because of the way it spread the power out. the motor was designed to have such a broad powerband that it was actually fun in the trails. i didnt have to shift it all the damn time. a lil whack on the throttle and the nose was in the air. and yes it had a round carrier stock length swingarm. also had a +4 on it at one time. no custom 2 1/4 length bs for me. on the dyno yea it hit like 95mph or some shit. but it never got there even at the dunes. my fat ass and the total lack of overrev due to its inherint desin and intended power output made it nearly impossible to pull middle rpm in 6th gear.. even after i farted a LONG time from some stankleg burritos it wouldnt go any faster.. DAMN! -

i welded up a set of stockers.. to me it was cheaper than buying a cub. and i like 350's.. dem dar jeans be holy.

make sure the brass spacer is center'd. if the washers are heavily groved that might be it also. you can run stock boss and pressure plate in the hinson springloaded no problem. also make sure the big steel bearing on the clutch shaft goes through the clutch basket really easy.
-
thats a tough one. i had stuffed and modifed cr250r reeds in my 10 cheeta and got a smokin deal on some v-3's im not sure it really got any faster at all. in some ways it got smother in delivery i think.

everything matters. seen 350cc stockers whip 421 cubs. motor dosent necessailry mean do do

make your own. UPP's are pretty big and there is barely enough room for bolts to mount them to the cylinders..

sleeper the next one i do will be stretched in the front about 8-14". i have also consider'd doing a 2-4 inch stretch on the smaller ones. the frame i'm doing now may get changed later after "shake down" i plan on building a jig for it and doing the stretch off of that.

help identifiying parts and what im missing on new banshee
camatv replied to BRAK54's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
these cragslist specials and budget builds remind me of these local goons bringing me old street bikes and old as hell dirt bikes and want them rebuilt. it will cost more than it will ever be worth and then i get a bad reputation for quoting 1000-2000 bucks to fix total junk that their friend said would cost 20 bucks and just needs an "adjustment". like there are lil majic knobs everywhere that i just turn and everythignn fixes itself. get it running. see what ya got, get a seat and some plastics and thank god you dont need more light at night to work on it. if there is someone local to you that actually knows half of what they say see if you can get some hands on help. thats goes a lot further than the he say she say you get from public forums at times. and yea that looks like a graydon intake. used one with a 40mm pwk back in the days it wasnt too bad,. <--thats first hand experience! -
New Owner Intro and a Little Discussion
camatv replied to KarTek's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
hmm welcome to the site. i'll try adn take it easy here. get a manual. if your an acomplished mechainc you should know that already. also if you have to ask if a plate rubbing on the rear brake rotor is an issue. i'd hate to have you mechanic my stuff. pipes burning the stock box is very common due to the crappy fit. some cook the box more than others. the boost bottle is more prone to rip the intake boots than to really do much help. its up to you if you want to remove it or block it off.. -
just put propeg nerf bars on it

Anyone Actually Seen Or Heard Of A J-Arm Tweaking A Frame?
camatv replied to bansh_88's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
there is your answer.. wreck your bike you will most likely get a bent frame. -
man i need to get some time to work on this dang thing!!! i had a few differnt pipes here and in this configuration the shears inframe hit the a-arms.. if things go good over this winter and sometime in the spring i'd really like to have a few differnt pipe prototypes available for these builds. the rear section of the pipes wasnt that hard to get to fit actually. the ressy isnt in that bad of a spot. i'm thinking of doing a midrange and top end pipe configuration. the intake i havent really thought about that much. i have a plan for the electrical that i think is going to work great. as far as plastic the fullbore one piece nose is excellent for these. it dosent have the scoops built in and the shape is perfect on the bike. i may do a 2-1 big filter OR just a shorty set of pod filters. i did a 2-1 filter stup to clear some tail mounted silencers on a stocker chassis i did a long time ago it worked really well.

Building a Banshee hillshooter but still a duner
camatv replied to IlikeCEREAL's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
as per popular request i am going to start translating into ebonix for some of our "homies" so that they can also enjoy the site a lil more.. the first post translated reads like this.. this is after using teh WINDOWS translator for ebonix. located here.. http://joel.net/EBONICS/Translator feel free to use this as needed. Yo Im looking ta start investing in uh banshee. ah wants uh hillshooter dat flys but still wants ta be able ta gots fun in da dunes. So im wondering where ta git started? should ah gank peep into buying uh new banshee or should ah gank da chasis an' build it from top ta bottom? Ive always ridden four strokes but gots always wanted liked da two strokes. Any advice would be great. Thanks Ya' dig? -
that is the most bestest thing i have ever seen holy shit. i even typed in: my banshee needs carbs and my friend has some for 150 bucks should i buy them it spit out the same thing dude said up there..

damn that sucks ..
-
none of them fit.. you have to MODIFY them to work. cut, weld, paint, ride
-
if the stockers bore is low id just have them set up properly to the 4 mill crank. if it was me i'd do it like this.. hotrods crank. welded. wiseco pistons and you will have to make sure your piston to wall clearance is good even with the new pistons. matton billet basket, stock trans mod, cool head with PROPER 21cc domes ( call NOSS) HD clutch kit. boyesen 2 stage reeds. thats a great lil budget combo and if the motor is set up right you will be able to hang with most servals.. not sure why you'd need to replace all the trans bearings if they are still good? i'm sure there will be some other do dads and items that are worn out inside that will need replaced. so add all that up $$$$ wise and then add 400 to that budget and if you have that amount go for it!
