  1. do the crank now or do the whole motor again in a few months..
  2. yank the motor split the case, true weld the crank, stock mod the trans, inspect the entire motor and make sure the internals are all ok escpecially the shifting componets, check piston -wall clearances, replace pistons if necessary, clean up port at least on cyls. port match cases, have the ports trued up and make sure they are at least in factory specs, boyesen 2 stage reeds, port cages, port match intakes, shave the flywheel, cut the stock plate for +4 timing, get a billet basket and an aftermarket clutch, cut open the air box, buy a filter plate for it also, get torrs eliminator, differnt needles for the carbs, have it jetted by someone who knows what they are doing and synch the carbs dead nuts perfect. and no not by sight. if all your going to do is go for 21cc domes i'd just shave the stock head down and set squish at about .45-50 tho and rip it up. go show those 4 pokes what a "piped and jetted" banshee looks like

  5. ok i'm going to look at this problem like if i was in another country and getting another rotor is a huge pain in the ass. first find the problem with the caliper, i think you did. the slides the caliper are on need to move back and forth VERY easily. its a floating caliper. and its like that for a reason.. then with it all mounted up rotate it around and you will see the warped area's rubbing on the caliper. like said whack it with a rubber mallet and get it back to pretty much straight.. then go ride it and see how think it feels.. IF thats just not going to work then... next with your cheapo lathe you have there i would make 2 thick plates that are about as wide as the section of the rotor that DOSENT hit the caliper or ride in the pads. one plate you you have a stub welded on it and the other would have to have threads or bolt on these plates i would think 1/4 inch thick to 1/2 in thick. then bolt the rotor to that and then 0 it all in then you can make very light cuts with your tooling and probably clean it up, if it chatters reall.y bad you can try running the other side with a piece of wood to take out the chatter. BUT i wouldnt bother with it that much. the way you have it chucked in the lathe is horrible it has almost no support and when you go to cut it your going to push the rotor over and get a very unreliable cut. you need to support the entire rotor as its very thin and not really all that ridgid.. a brand new rotor from yamaha is about 45 bucks a brand new 660 rotor which has a differnt pattern in it is a little bit cheaper last one of those i boought was about 35-40 bucks since you have access to both machines you can see the banshee rotor has holes and the rappy 660 rotor is a kinda cross cut pattern
  6. hmm depends on how the 350cc cyl is ported i have done a bunch of 4 mill's from previous ported 350's.. redlines dyno charts sure look impressive..

  9. if your concerned about epoxy, do a leak down test. if you think you have a coolant leak, try a coolant pressure tester. both will show issues easily and not have to guess..

  11. i buy and recomend rocky mountatin atv all the time after being let down by so many other dealers, suppliers and whatever else its kinda hard for me not to use them.. anymore my suppliers are ebay and rocky mtn. i dont know who "they" or "them" or "those guys" or "my friends brother" or "i read on the internet" but more and more there is so much bullshit and misinformation out there its amazing to me.

  16. on pump gas with trail pipes NOPE> now that said. i mean comparing a well set up serval or cheeta will flat stomp a stock set of cylinders with the pipes you have. now a serval or cheeta or cub with the pipes you have would perform about the same as a well built set of stockers.. the pipes are whats holding the higher priced cylinders back. the pipes are also what can make the stock set of cylinders work wel not to their best potential but well.
  17. how is the calbe routed? is it in the right spot? even a new cable should be lubbed. lube goes a long way in making things slippy slide when they dont really want to
  18. this is interesting. i also really like the LTR platform. suzuki went out of their way developing it as a insane MX/ trail agressive rider. is there anyway to fit the pipes on top of th e motor? i've been looking at alternative mounting solutions and that may be one to consider.. one of the most noticeable advantages when riding a ltr was the fact of how far foward and "into" the bike i could get on corners and NEVER hit the front fenders its hard to explain the main reason these are not as prone to wheelie is the nice relationship of sproket, piviot and rear chain alignment also the fact that you actually ride these differnt. you ride them agressivly on the tank and up on the front more.. the motors in these drop like flies just like th eyfz might try and find a roller around here to play with. this i think could be bumped to the conversion section?
  19. 4oz per gallon is safe mix zone. also most all castor based oils will seperate in the colder weather.. most likely if it was abused it was needing a top end anyways. just yank it and fix it. and if your not sure PLEASE have a reputable shop do it so you dont have to worry about it again.
  20. here is my take on a stiff throttle.. clean the entire thumb throttle assembly, lube the thumb shaft. make sure the housing is sealed. lube the cable with a proper cable lubber dont use chain lube use either cable lube OR cheapo spray lube from walmart.. ( yes i said it). clean the carbs and the slides up clean the area where the slide goes extra well. check the slides for being either chrome plated or std non plated, as both were avaialble non chrome plated will grove out and stick realy bad. if after that you still think the throttle is to stiff sell the bike and go play video games. my wife's turdwagon has twin 38mm lectrons and she never bitches about the pull.
  21. fmf gold series sucks balls no matter what.. sst's and fattys are much better as far as a 'trail " pipe. i used a packing that looked like shreded t-shirts one time in fmf silencers, it made more motor noise than running noise at idle. it was nuts how quite it was.
  22. DMC pipes will only work with stock cylinders. to get most out of serval, cub ETC you will need differnt pipes. the cub/ serval will run but you may not be all that happy with it.
