  1. I have them and love them. However extream caution when cleaning, polishing, or adjusting air pressure. The will peal the skin right off your body. VERY SHARP EDGES.
  2. Yea it was from sears. Probably not the most accurate. In fact I bought it when I build this engine last winter. It is foot pounds and it is at the bottom. Im going to have to try one like you mentioned.
  3. Yes. When I first put my motor together I tried to use the stock bolts with the new clutch. I dont think I even got to 7 (your right about seven) they just popped. ON or two out of the first 4 I just said f*ck it and bought different bolts. So your saying you use a stock inner hub or clutch boss and stock bolts. You blue locktight and use less then 7 LB's.
  4. I bought one off rocky mountian and it pealed after one ride. Shoulda kept my dura blue. This thing is cheaply made.
  5. i had the same clutch problem. I couldnt get it to stop creeping forward in gear with the clutch pressed in. I built my motor then put a fast clutch in and it still did it. I called jeff and asked why and how to get it to stop and he said its the nature of the beast. I had all new clutch parts. He explained it but I dont remember just said when you start building the motor that the design of the way it works causes it. I dont know but thats what he told me.
  6. I have a clutch from jeff and I was wondering what spring bolts everyone is using. Also what kinda clutch boss. Reason I ask is I tried using stock bolts but I broke one or two trying to tighten them. So I bought matching bolts from the hardware store and got washers to go with. I used these for about 6 months and had to take the clutch apart due to a wreck. When I went to re-install the clutch I noticed that my washers had too big of a whole compared to the bolt and tore up the end of my clutch boss posts. I went to the store bought a new boss, longer bolts ( the short ones I thought were to short for those springs) , and new washers installed the clutch. I made two passed at the local dirt drags and one of my posts which the bolt goes through on the clutch boss riped completely off the boss.
  7. what kind of smoke blue or white? if white its coolent if black or blue too rich.
  8. For reasonably cheap you could have a bike that most 450's with mods would have a tough time beating. -Get a port from a good builder (good woods or dune) (4-500) pistons add (150ish) -Used pipes off the net (ask the builder what to get. (2-300) -mod the stock stator plate. (free) -Have stock head milled ($30) - Lighten stock flywheel ($60) - Reeds (I would forget VF's unless your budget allow. There great but 200+ is steep if on a budget. - K&N clamp on or pods (what ever your situation allows) - Maybe changer gearing - Tires For under a $1000 you have a tough bike if set up and jetter properly. (stock carbs would be fine some people under estimate them they are good for a stock stroke moderate port motor, save your money.) Good luck as for straight bolt ons. Give me a piped moderate port motor any day and Ill beat a all bolt on quad.
  9. I kept the back of the box as is so the coolent bottle fit back on. However I had to cut the hole bigger where the cap of the collent bottle fits through the rear plastics under the seat so it would come through.
  10. Kinda the same situation as you. I have a intake like the boss and pwk 35's. I cut about an inch or 2 dont really remember out of the middle of my stock airbox and glued it back together. I bought those upp airbox adaptors for the carb to box that fit a 35mm. My box has a noss intake with k&N. I also cut the lid to allow a inch gap on the end of the resivor end. I used industrial stick on velco to hold it on. ITs kinda gheto but I hit way too much water where I ride. It chokes down the motor some but it was my only option.
  11. if feel your pain been there many times. I run 927 and the race gas is purple already. i dont care what oil you use you cant see it.
  12. please dont part that bike out! someone should want this bike. It is easily worth 8-9 together.
  13. Dont know much about porting as in measurements but it looks really good to me. From my untrained eye it looks better then some of the porting the people on hear have paid for. hope it runs just as well.
  14. there has to de something. Even if they are a slight bit smaller but stronger. I need to put a breaker bar on this thing with out it giving.
  15. where can I get these and what size I keep breaking stock ones. I cant tighten them enough to keep it tight and they just twist off.
  16. yeah your probably right I cant keep my carrier tight now I would have two things flopping around. not good.
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Original-A-...sspagenameZWDVW I want to try a +2 for cheap for the few times a year I drag race maybe once or twice a year. Has anyone tried this or will it work? for 60 buck I figure why not. :ermm:
  18. not being a dick but why would you run a single carb on a dune bike?
  19. kinda stupid question because swinger and gearing plays a big part. if you do it with a 13 front sprocket thats like a third gear pull with higher gear. Stock swing with 15 41 gear 5th gear easy. The question should be what mph and what swinger but everyone doesnt know that what mph since everyone thinks there piped shee does 80 or more
  20. no get plastic NOT BILLIT. The metal ones do not give plastic does. TM and others are a molded fit as in they fit the case on both sides. Billet ones are only bolted on and I have seen them protect the case but break the bolt holes out for the shift drum. Billet ones are junk. Dont buy a TM unless you have the money to spend. I bought a look alike off ebay. it fit the same but didnt have the lable TM and was 20 bucks to the TM 50 or 60.
  21. Id get the stocker. Who knows how bored it is. Plus I wouldnt doubt it was road hard. Id rather have a bike closer to virgin then one with supprises. good luck
  22. will a 22 11 8 rear pro wedge 2 tire fit on a stock rear banshee rim?
  23. I could see gordon not being able to start his car because one of the pit members scraped his copper wire. Heck every wreck they would all be jumping out of there cars to get scraps.
  24. I think it was benn who used to do it it was a year or so ago.
  25. I remember a year or so back there was a guy who would make a wall paper every month on here what happened to that
