Hey Guys, Have a 2001 banshee rebuilt top end, boysen reeds, fmf sst pipes and k&n filter with box and lid still on. Running 30 pilots, 2 turns out, 270 mains, needle 3rd clip @1800FT. It ran fine 2 years ago and since then its hasn't run much. Cleaned out the carbs and draned the old fuel. Installed new plugs. I have no air leaks. Basically when the bike is cold i pull the choke out all the way and it will run after 2 or 3 kicks. THen it runs for 3-5 seconds and then stalls. Then its just a nightmare to try and get running. It will start then stall and keeps doing that. Eventually it will run and then i can rev it up and it will warm up and then run fine. Will start with one kick once warm. THen i leave it for a few days and the samething happens. I've tried 25, 27.5, 30 pilots and all postions on the air screws. Adjusted the idle scews, carbs are synced. Choke tube is good. I'm starting to lean towars the stater/coil or spark issue. Spark seems good. but bike will start idle fine for 2-3 seconds and then die. I have to get it running and then rev it when it cold to get it to idle, if i don't rev it just dies like the spark is cutting out. Anybody got any ideas? Shaun

Hey, Will the twist throttle cable with T.O.R.S removed work for the Stock Yamaha Thumb Throttle with T.O.R.S removed. Just wondering as I have a brand new twist throttle cable. Is the cable for the thumb throttle different from T.O.R.S and no T.O.R.S setup? Wanting to get a stock Banshee Thumb throttle off Ebay and wondering where I would get the cable for a thumb throttle and T.O.R.S removed setup to work with it. Thanks, Shaun

Main Jet Size to start with on Fresh Rebuild?
Slasher99 replied to Slasher99's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Jetting is at 260 now but I only have about an hour on the rebuilt. Going through the break in I haven't been able to do a plug chop yet. I did pull the plugs out after 20min or so and they did look dark oil colored and not white by any means. The reason for a rebuilt was low compression with to much cylinder variance between the two. Turned out one of the stock rings was pinched at the ring gap on the post, thus the ring was not expanding all the way. -

Hey Guys, I have a Banshee that i bought second hand and it came with a Twist throttle. Do i need a different TORS kit to work with the twist throttle cable? I tired to figure out the brand of the twist throttle but all I could find was EMCO stamped on the side of the Twist throttle Housing. Any info would be appreciated. Thx, Shaun

ATV shop in Las Vegas, L.A, Hemet or San Diego
Slasher99 replied to Slasher99's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I found www.atvparts.biz and they seem to have really good prices and they are located in California. $159 for a K140 wiseco kit with gaskets. Does anybody know if they have a store front where you can pick up the parts instead of shipping them. -

Last time I checked FAST is nowhere near Vegas or LA lol.... I need to be able to pick it up and bring it back in my luggage. -
Hey Guys, Going to be in those areas next week and was wondering what shops in the area would have the best prices to pick up a wiseco piston kit (k140 0.020")and a few other things(Helmet, Pants, Gloves, Boots). I Called Golden west from La Mesa, Ca and they told me 205 plus 14.75 for each rod bearing. That seems a little high to me. I was hoping to find something in the 160-180 range. I will be in Las Vegas the 26,27th and Hemet, Ca from Feb28-Mar2. I'm going to be in San Diego and L.A area for a day each or so. I'm from Canada so thats why I'm not ordering it online. Trying to avoid the shipping cost. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Shaun

What you guys think? Time for a rebuild? Its seems to run ok but I'm going to be taking out to St. Anthony dunes in Idaho in the summer for 10 days. So i figure sooner is better than later. Last thing i want to be doing is a motor rebuild while all my buddies are out on the dunes. I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada Edmonton elevation: 668 m (2,192 ft) 100PSI on one, 85PSI on the other.... Its been rebuilt once by a previous owner so i have no idea what the cylinder bore is at right now. Can anybody recommend a rebuilt kit. I was thinking wiseco obviously. Shaun

Hey great input so far guys... Thx So for a compression test I'm a assuming a stantard car compression tester would work. Put it in the spark plug hole and kick it over a few times? Would that be correct? Shaun

I'm looking to purchase my first Banshee. I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Looking for some input on what others on the forum would do? There are a few options locally at the moment. Options are.... Stock 2005 Banshee SE white with Red Frame that is in great condition for $4200 Canadian or 2000 Banshee White/Red with silver frame in good condition as well with the following addons for $3100: ITP offset rims, boost bottle, FMF SST pipes and silencers, aero taper bars, twist throtle, AC dirt screen bumper and AC pro peg nerf bars. new maxxis all trax tires. The motor was also rebuilt 2 seasons ago. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Shaun
