  1. Yeah and when you get to the top shift to neutral and keep full trothle for another 5 minutes to cool her off! after that DONT get the revs down but instead just punch it in second without using the clutch. thats the best way to go down, otherwise you might risk diggin yourself in.
  2. the pilot jet is located next to the MAIN jet. you cant see it that goed since its in a tube. i think the jetting faq has a picture of the whole carb setup.
  3. WTF.... this is stupid.. but i know i ran out of gas with my mopet on my way to school someday and rang somebodies doorbell asked for some fuel and what we call letuce oil. (what you do over the vegetables) the guy didnt have any fuel (asshole) but he did have premium 80% liquer. had a hard time deciding... ride it or drink it. wel i mixed the liquer with the cooking oil pushed the thing around the blok and it fired up.. and i might add: IT HAD POWERRRRRRRR and smelled like a dead elephant on crack. nuff said.
  4. i cant find the Dirt Digger clutch kit at rockymountainatv.com but i do see the EBC clutch kit. any good? the tusk is cheap indeed!
  5. LMFAO hehehe you crack me up I need to copy paste that somewhere for later reference. briljant
  6. But what i am wondering about: howcome almost always theres only a hole on 1 side off the engine and not on both sides. since compression would be the same for both jugs. aswell as octane and same goes for timing advance. if the crank would be out of phase.. that might change your timing advance for 1 jug. Anybody have an explenation for this?
  7. A hole in your piston is caused by: To far advanced timing, To high compression, Or to low octane fuel to cope with the above 2. a lean condition will heat up everything and thus speed up the process. Lean jetting on itself will not punch a hole in the piston. lean jetting will burn a spark plug or melt your piston most commenly on the exhaust side. Sorry man
  8. I think its a cracked reed. the reeds are located between your carb and the engine. and are hold down with 4 allen screws (4 for each reed) have you tried to find the reeds using the banshee manual?
  9. Yep thats the thing i'm talking about. Its not a spendy part cant be much over 5$ I'll order just one then. thanks!
  10. Thanks spoin. I checked oil level, the level is fine. Its even overfilled a bit. The oil does smell a little burned and its also what i smelled a few times on saturday. It might be spitting out some oil since its overfilled a bit. Using castrol oil i think its the MTX type. The last time i adjusted my clutch i was almost out of adjustment on the clutch So it might be worn. I'll check the service manual and check the thickness of the plates. but before i dig in i'll order a water impeller aswell if i can find one not to spendy
  11. I recently got my hands on some used jugs. I noticed one of the jugs is missing a seal. Its located on the bottem of the jug right under the exhaust. The partnumber is: 47X-11355-00-00 the seal doesnt seem to do much since a normal base gasket goes over aswell. Would replacing the seal on the other cilinder aswell be wise or will one new seal be good enough?
  12. Hey all, In the last few rides a strange sound has developed. The sound is comming from the right side and seems to be comming from behind the clutch cover. At first i feared for a crank bearing, but since the sound only starts after a good warmup and will disappear from time to time on a good day of riding i figured it might be my water impeller. We went to a construction site this saturday with nice steep hills and didnt go easy on the banshee. there was a nice sand track aswell really long almost a indy car like track. and after some hill shooting we lined up for a few laps of sand racing. The banshee hauled ass for the first 2 laps it had to pull really hard in 5th gear. in lap 3 on the straigt i shifted to 6th using the clutch but to my suprize i had NO clutch whatsoever. only cable slack. i shifted to 6th gear anyways and the shee instandly dropped like 4k in revs below and off the pipe. I took it off the sand track and drove around alittle to cool things down. after 10 minutes i had my clutch back. tonight i found this on the bansheehq: I do think my clutch is wearing out. it works great shooting the hills in second gear. I noticed the great drop in rpm's earlier before while dragging on asphalt. But the "no clutch issue" was for the first time ever! and i dont like it! Any experience / resolutions / thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  13. Dunedemons setup: I LOVE YOUR GAUGE BLUE DUECE!! awesome.
  14. make sure its open! otherwise the pooling water will disappear into your stator cover causing all kinds of nasty stuff to your stator and flywheel.
  15. My tors is still good
  16. Link doesnt work..
  17. Mine does exactly the same. I'm using castrol. i think its 10w40 on the other hand: when its warmed up it i would almost say its slipping while shifting trough the gears.
  18. Offroadhaven.com?? Hmm ill need to check that out. But the race logic porting is said to be a dune port job right? More for the high revs?
  19. Try the boyesen reed petals. They are a good replacement for not to much $$.
  20. Now thats a great offer CoolRaptor2001. thats like a WIN WIN WIN situation beer + food + fixed banshee. can you weld cranks boon? just wondering
  21. Or the tors unit went OR one of the carb slides is stuck. Still have the tors on it? Your sig says tors kit.. must be removed then?
  22. Boonman, Since he says the tops look good and the sidewalls are smooth aswell, i'm more leaning to something like a lose flywheel or a twisted +4 key? or he ran out of gas
  23. Saturday was great! The Jetting feels right on! I think i'll leave the pilot as it is and try the needle 1 position richer. will be the richest position (its not even a stock needle) Thanks for all the help!
  24. Thanks Banchetta, I will give it a go. Howcome a needle can make such a great difference? according to the jetting faq the needle only controls 1/2 to 3/4 trothle. And ofcourse while exiting a corner trothle is always pinned . I think the pilots would make this setup complete.
