rz flywheel doesnt work. i had the same issue. and i believe those rivits ARE in the same location, but just a tad longer. just place a rz and banshee flywheel on eachother and match up the key slidehole. the rivits will be at the same point only the rz rivits will be longer. also the magnetic field in the rz flywheel is different. (put an rz flywheel over a stator (it will hover) and turn it you can feel the magnetic clicks, do the same with a banshee flywheel it will also have these magnetic clicks but with an offset. in the end i got my shee to idle (this was when i reversed my pickup coil wires) but it would never rev, like the parking brake was on. get a ricky stator flywheel.. they are not as expensive as the stock flywheel. Replacing the stator is not needed. Your stator is still ok And the rz stator wont plug/fit into your wireing harness. I hope this helps.
-
hey led, Did you check your pickupcoil clearance?
-
hmm i have a ricky stator flywheel. anybody happen to know if these babies are lightend? This sounds like a fairly cheap mod with good results..
-
I cant wait to see the results!

Today its sunday.. Sundays are bad, the parents goto church and that means i'm not allowed to go out and have some fun on the shee. Yesterday .. in fact the hole last week wheater was a bitch.. a serieus bitch. Today.. sunshine all over the place.. i woke up and said to myself.. What a great day to ride. Well that pissed me off somewhat.. since i couldnt drive. I called my riding mate and said. lets visit the "Maasvlakte" its 1 of the local riding spots where lots of atv's and bikes get together. So we arrive at the spot get out of the car and the first thing i notice is the back end of a banshee .. 2 nice toomey silencers. As we pass that shee i say to myself now that is a pretty descent banshee. nice chrome t5 pipes.. could be my old t5 set... We walk over to the snackbar and buy ourselfs a drink. As we admire the view a really goodlooking raptor drives up. Goldspeed rims great looking fenders durablue axle ..just sweet looking. With a license plate. After another 5 minutes some guy walks up to the chrome t5 banshee. Hops on the shee kicks over the engine 3 times that thing starts he pins the throttle and starts burning his tires on the spot with that shee reved out COMPLETLY. .. as i am writing this i can feel the anger comming from my toes again... i just stood there PINNED to the ground.. That shee just screaming for mercy as it ran SOOO poor in the high revs. MY god what a fucking asshole. the n00b.. He was doing donuts all over the place. After about 45 seconds of this.. and me hopeing that his shee would POP right in front of my eyes. The raptor started and lined up. He parks his sputtering and bogging shee next to that raptor they spurt off and well. what a shame. i cant tell you how VERRY pissed of i was at that moment. what a loozer. how can someone do that to his shee. On the ride home we missed 3 of our junctions, all i could think about was that shee and that guy. i hope i meet him someday when i have my shee under my ass.. now THAT pissed me off more then whatever.

LMAO hehehe omg i really pictured that story.. briljant

My fasttrekkers arrived today. cheap tire? In the usa maybe.. i payed 445 Euro for 4 tires. Thats somewhere around 555 us Dollar. I still like em though Pictures are here: http://nighty.servebeer.com/fotos/quads/Fotos/Banden/ 1 question: The guy who lay the tires on the rims for me said. These tires suck! you can only put 7 psi in them which means they cannot stand high speeds. had something to do with cord layers he said. My stock tires can have 39psi Also it says on the tire to only use them with beadlock rims. i dont have em. Should i panic? Any chance i'll have 2 rear wheels blowing when i try them on the road?
-
Rev limiter? Nah that wont explain the not idleing.. Maybe your timing is somehow off? do you have a degree key or adjustable stator plate? choke tube connected?
-
i think there's more info here: www.thebansheezone.com enjoy.
-
I just wanna say: 250R's are fast.. DONT underestimate them. i.e. .. dont go easy on the nos
-
Im confused again, hone is that finishing touch after boring your cilinders right? Its supposed to look like a matrix, and is important for your engine. (compression and better oiling) Can a sand paper do the same?
-
I just ordered fast trekkers for my rear! Whats so bad about them?

Hey JTquad, Yes all the raptors i have seen here. About 10 by now from friends and riding mates eventually got starter problems. Especially the first models of the raptor have this problem. a rebuild kit here in the netherlands costs around 600$. since a week 3 of my riding mates exchanged there banshees for raptors. 1 had a broken starter when it came. we knew that and the dealer gave us a new starter. The other 2 raptors are brand new 2003 models. A list of things we created to prevent this problem: *USE the exact original oil filter!!! The dealer once gave us a set of what looked like raptor oil filters but they where slightly longer. after a while the trouble began. and it turns out that the longer oil filter reduces the oil pressure significantly resulting in a lack of oil in the raptor head. *Keep your oil level high and clean it regually (tap old oil and put in new oil) *Always start with your lights off *Try to always start the raptor in neutral. Oh and also! make sure your idle isnt set to low!! (like its almost stalling each time.) A high idle is oki! That about covers it. and i'm affraid you cant repair your starter and will need a new rebuild kit. I am really currious how long the new raptors will last..

Thanks Banchetta, I dont think the engine suffered any damage, Ive got an mp3 of the banshee flying trough its revs with 2 peeps on it. (me recording, cousin driving) http://nighty.servebeer.com/Fotos/quads/Sounds/banshee.mp3 This recording was made after water in the airbox. sounds good. but should i check something anyways?
-
I made a new recording of my t5 sound today. can be downloaded here: t5 sound just sharing.

Went out for a ride yesterday, Am still using the 340's with the drilled airbox cap. The wheater was a bitch. it rained all day, But the banshee drove fine all day, except for the bald tires, and some white smoke now and then. i checked my radiator but i couldnt see any bubbles so i figured it was ok. After a whole day of driving, we washed the quads, and did the usual maintainance. Turns out that the holes in the airbox cap had been passing water all day. My airbox had a descent amount of water in it. and i think this is also where the white smoke has been comming from! I drained the airbox dry and removed the filter, the filter was feeling wet, Using a flash lite i saw a white fluid in my airbox boots, oil+water = white fluid. Since the banshee drove fine all day, i dont think much water passed through. But what can the damage be? Should i be affraid me crank bearings go? The airbox cap with holes isnt such a good idea. As a little test i drove without the airbox cap when the road was dry. The banshee ran even better. i'm left with 2 options: go back to 300 mains and use the airbox cap without holes. or keep the 340 mains buy a knn filter + adapter plate, and use outerwear to keep the water out. Is the outerwear really water proof?

You will need everything to do a conversion. stator, flywheel, electronics.. the works..
-
Thanks guys I do mostly trials. And constuction sites. with little mountains of soil/sand. But the post office is a great idea! ill try them.
-
so simply said the rz cilinder is not bigger then a banshee cilinder. + The wiseco piston catalogue lists rd/rz 350 and banshee with the same pistons.
-
I have a banshee prox piston and it wont even slide in the rz cilinder.. go figure. the prox piston is .30. the rz is compleetly stock.
-
I'd like to try some 450 shocks on my shee. but since i live in: <- The netherlands. Most ebay guys wont ship to me/Europe. Maybe you guys can help me out?
-
I bought mains today ranging from 300 to 360, 330 sounds good! ill try that Benbb Nah the clutch isnt slipping, but a new clutch is on my wishlist. alot is Need new tires first. Going for the Titan fast trekkers, look nice and i think they will do pretty good allround. (trials) (construction sites with mud and sand). Upping the compression.. hmm i still have a stock crank (unwelded), I dont want to pound it much more since i read alot about the seperating crank issue.. 125 psi at sea level is pretty good. this test was done with cold engine throttle wide open. I'll do a retest when my engine is warmed up. Anybody happen to know the stock dome size on a banshee? My guess would be 22cc. I found a nice head on alba for about 85$ its already milled but the dome size is not mentioned.
-
Mine didnt even start since the cdi missed the powervalves! (not connected) I had to connect the ypvs crap before my banshee started!
-
I read about a do it yourself kit fairly recent. I cant find it at the moment though. How will a kit like this perform? Ofcourse a porting company can deliver much better work! But since i live in the netherlands a good banshee porter.. or a descent 2 stroke porter is hard to find! I was thinking about buying a do it myself kit and then bring it to a 2 stroke porter so he can do the port work using the kit. Or i could send my cilinders to Jim.. but i bet shipping will be $$$. no need to rush i got spare cilinders on hand.
