Wow.. thanks blue deuce! I'll be fiddling with my suspension tonight Will different rear shock settings also effect front shock settings?

Tried the banshee today, It ran like crap. Idle is good mid range good throttle pinned is bad. in the low rpms it bogs, after helping the engine up to speed with some nice clutch work, or slowly adding throttle from start it will hold up in the high revs. Went back home and took an old airbox cap drilled holes in the cap and placed it on the banshee. Tried again, Runs absolutly fabulous, no more bogging at wot the speed loss at top is gone. but if i'm cruising around 1/4th throttle low rev in lets say: 2nd gear. and just SLAM the throttle wide open the engine will start to rev.. bog 3 times right before the powerband and then just flies away. I searched the jetting faq for this problem but WOT at low rev is not discussed in it. Any idea's what should be done? Ill try my air screws tomorow. Thanks for the info so far its much better already! if i can get the bog spot out i'll be flying again.

Pro Design Water Pump W/gaskets
Nighty replied to 239banshee's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Would love to buy it.. only i'm in europe Shipping will most likely cost a fortune. -
The reason i said water: I know that if water is compressed in you compression chamber that it will burn holes in your piston and head. Pieces of metal might have come of and caused the damage you have now. On the other hand it might be one of your bearings.

Sputtering & Missing At Mid-throttle
Nighty replied to BaddBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I had the exact same thing! I had already ordered a ricky stator with new coil (stator plate) and rotor. But i knew for sure my stator was in oki condition. My rotor was damaged but i cant see this beeing the problem. Ater i received my ricky stator the manual said to adjust the pickup coil clearance to almost touch the rotor. My old coil and rotor had a MAJOR gap between. i'm fairly sure this could have been my problem and is your problem aswell. Check the pickup coil. I hope this helps. -
You said you havent run the banshee for a month. Would it be possible that water has build up in the left side of your engine? Due to wheater conditions?

Will A K&n Bolt Right To The Stock Box
Nighty replied to STLbanshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Can the k&n filter in the airbox be used without outerware? And if so will this provide some more air? Or in other words. does the outerware cost air? -
the 400 shocks are longer They will mount on a stock banshee but the 400ex shock, Has 1 large mount point and 1 small (less wide) mount point. You should make sure your friend filles up that space. Also i dont recommend this because the shocks will push your arms completly down and imho the shocks create a really rough ride. + its bad for your pivots. Hope this helps..

Its a 15 tooth. With a 14 tooth. its noticed even more. Havent done the mains yet.. my axle bearrings are toast.. Work in Progress

Blue Deuce, in what kind of oil do you soak your chain? The did chain i have now is a whole chain. so no master link. Soaking will be a lot of work! I better get a master link and cut the chain for easy maintainance.
-
For the netherlands its even wurse! I cant even find a chain slider. Any good parts shops in uk? Would save me a great deal in shipping and taxes. I dont want the stock banshee tires anymore but i have a hard time finding a shop with OTHER tires.
-
How about those 530 chains? Will i need wider sprockets aswell? Ill dive into those sidewinder chains.
-
will do! i have new plugs, currently running 280 mains. i'll up the mains to 320 since i dont have any other jets at hand. screw in new plugs and do the wot test. Can i hack open the old plugs to see my overal jetting? thanks.

So it idles fine but when you rev it up it bogs. - you moved the clip to the bottem so your in the most richest position possible for your needle (1/8 - 3/4) throtthle) the part after idle. I think you should up the clip to the middle position and try again.

Thanks ssd, So whats the basic difference between x ring and o ring then? The chain i picked is: DID o-ring chain 520 V6. It looks good and was rated mid to top range.
-
k, The dealer said: best to use o rings for "on road." If youre doing alot of off road best to pick a "no ringer" I think i'll go with a no ring and just pick a descent strong one out of his book keep the comments comming! I did a search aswell on DID and found some gold collored chain. it should be the ultimate for cross.
-
My chain is starting to wear out. So i visited the local chain dealer store, and asked him for a 520 chain. Next thing i now, He dives under his desk and comes up with a book about chains. Do i want with o rings or x rings or no rings, Different 520 chains for all kind of HP rateings. He can order me 13 types of 520 chains based on the 104 links directly. So i was kind of hmm OKI ill be back after i do some research. And here i am searching the hq for chain information. Who can help me out, I would like a strong chain, and most of the dealer chains wear out fairly quick. Thanks for any advice!

Will the yfz450 A-arms fit a banshee? And whats the difference?
-
1 minor disadvantage: When riding in the dark the REALLY AWESOME looking backlight does not stay lit :( when you press the button. But i heared trailtech is working on a new computer which WILL support this!!! This is also interresting for all who are trying to get there banshee street legal. Since you will not need a dashboard light with the comming model.
-
Oke thanks all so far, Yes it has become colder, i'll try the choke trick tomorow. Ausie do you happen to know, how i can check that timing is not the issue? Or will this be a mather of testing. Going back to 0 deg advantage and test?
