  1. keep it and get some pipes.....its what your shee needs. I've got some chrome gnarly's or painted fatty's if your interested
  2. I go down there every year and have to say it is some of the best riding you'll ever endure in your life. Definitely go to Rockhouse, all the rest arent really as cool or close together for gas mileage wise. You'll get the most bang for your buck there. Check out www.trailsheaven.com , actually just check out this: http://www.trailsheaven.com/trailstatus.cfm for the maps. What kind of tires are you running? Your gonna need a good climbing lug. A 20" set of blackwaters would be key. Holeshots when they are brand new are decent, but if they are worn at all they just like to spin. The rain is weird down there. The mountains are high enough that the clouds shoot down the valleys. You'll be riding on one side of the mountain and it'll be pouring, and come around the other side and it'll be nice and sunny. Skidplate protection is also a pretty important thing, its pretty rough on some of the climbs. The rest of the riding is pretty good on the flats, but some of the climbs are brutal. I run PRM. If your comp is sitting at 120 and your confident on your jetting/air leaks anything of that degree that wont go wrong you'll be good for the length of time you go down there. My compression was dropping last year when we went down there and was at the equivilent of 105-110 and it made it 7 of the 8 days we were down there. I caught a ring in the exhaust port on the second to last day on the way back to camp just leaving the trailhead to head down the road. What kind of airfilter are you running? Having a spare is definitely a good idea, and always carry backup sparkplugs. I'd get some solid top ones so you dont have to worry about the sparkplug tip rattling off or stripping. Just go over your bike real well and make sure everything is cherry. CHANGE THE OIL NOW, and not before your first ride down there. I've seen quite a few times someone change the oil and the new oil creates more play and bang, something breaks. Happened to 3rd gear in my buddies 250R last year. Hit up Rockhouse trails, and get a backpack to hold a 2 gallon gas can on your back. Every time you stop lighten your load. Start up at the Northern end of the map and work your way down to the south end. Theres a nice treat as you come into the town after riding through the woods the whole time. Watch out for the black trail 94 I believe it is. If your gonna hit it, your gonna want to be going from the North end to the South end. I dont even know if I'd hit it with a 4x4 and a winch going the other way. Extreme steepness with a big washout on the one side thats like 3 feet deep that wraps down the side of the mountain. We went down it and the only way I felt safe, and not very was to have one front and rear tire in the washout, sliding down on my skidplates, with one foot on the wall on the other side of the washout, and on the brakes the whole time. And I'm crazy and will pretty much try anything. Bring a camera, tire plugs, a way to pump your tires up, a spare set of goggles is always nice, and lots of paper towels to clean them off every chance you get. Do drive thru's before you go and get crazy, edges of the trails wash out into an abyss that you'll never get your quad back from if you misjudge a corner. Hillclimbs are extreme and keep going on and on, are rocky that will bounce you around to the point that your not heading upward anymore. An aftermarket suspension helped me a lot with that. The views are spectacular. Trail 21 or 31 I believe it is, has these 2/3 boulders that are just sitting on sandstone pedastools up on top of this mountain. We got up on them 2 years ago and they actually rock a little bit. I wonder if they are still there. If you've got any more questions, ask away, I dont think I'll be able to go back this year, which really sucks, but maybe if i'm lucky or next spring or something.

    Crankshaft...

If he doesnt I have an engine that the guy hit a stump and put a crack in the bottom case by the kickstarter that I can rip the engine apart this weekend. It should be in good shape. It's out of a 2001 engine that still has stock top end and good compression. Guy said it actually wasnt ridden that much, he only got to ride it like once a month if that since he bought it new.
  4. I take it your not interested..... Theres 3 or 4 on ebay right now......good luck
  5. I run about 4 on my kevlar belted bandits. I like them soft enough that they soak up some of the sharp rocks and such that we ride through, but hard enough that it has a hard time getting down to the rim if you hit something pretty hard. I just wish they'd make a rounded kevlar belted tire. Those bandits have gone through some crazy rocks, and have slashes all over the sidewalls, but not once have I gotten a flat with them. They just arent the best in the mud cause they just wanna push.
  6. nac's beadbreaker, best tool I've ever bought. Use that to break the bead and then 2 big flat screwdrivers to pop the tires off and on. Takes me like 5-10 minutes to jack the shee up pull the rear wheels off it, pop the beads, pull the tires, put other tires on, seat them, let the air out, throw them back on the shee and I'm done. It's very portable and if you ride any rough terrain its a very very valuable tool. I've got my money's worth 20 fold out of it. I even made an extension piece that I change mudding tires with for trucks. (gotta break out the rubber mallet for that one
  7. doesnt look like I'm gonna be able to do it until next year, gotta take a year off to buy a house and such, but every year we go to Hatfield-McCoy. It's a trek to get there (12 hours for me), but it is worth every minute of being stuck in a truck driving. I would compare it to the Glamis of Trail Riding. Everything is extreme. Sorry the images are a little big....but the riding is even bigger
  8. front fenders with the fenders still on?
  9. You people dont get it, Bush and all his morals, and the way it looks like he's making the decisions is just an act. Do you really think that he's sitting up there with the baton orchestrating all this? The man wouldnt give an interview without his vice president because he was scared he would be confronted with things he couldnt answer, and wouldnt have someone to step in for him and answer them the way they should be to look good. This is a quote our very president made 4 or 5 days ago: And he makes stupid ass comments like that all the time.....not to mention the one he made when he was talking about abortion and was calling the fetus, fesces the whole time. The man cant utter a coherent sentence, and was probably the kid back in highschool when you had to read in front of the class stuttered on every half big word he had to read. He's the one "supposedly" running our country, and you wanna give him 4 more years to mess more stuff up. On a side note: Anyone see that commercial with the kid walking around with the Ball and Chain on it that says War deficit on it or something to that degree......I think that was a pretty funny commercial. It was so true it kinda hurt when I looked over at my daughter.
  10. what kind of engine are you running? That makes a big difference in tuning the carb. When it is idling is it spitting fuel out the pipe? You probably are going to have to lean out your low speed screw if it is. Adjusting that will make just as much difference in how it runs as adjusting your high speed needle. And if you dont have that set, its pretty much impossible to set the high speed how it should be. Always set your low speed before your high speed. Go get yourself 3 or 4 glow plugs. They make good ones that are made for the glow plug starters that are better than the regular ones and last a lot longer. I had a glow plug going bad that would cause my truck to do the same thing yours is. It would run, I could finally get it that I could pull the starter off it and it would stay running, but as soon as you would give it fuel it would die, or get a couple feet down the road and die, or run for a little while and then I'd let off the gas and it would die. If you have a 2.5, I can go into much more detail, if its something else I'm not to experienced with the other engines
  11. and you think bush is any better? At least kerry turned a boat around in the middle of a gunfight to go save a man.....bush wouldnt even show up to get into a gunfight. All bush is, is a puppet. If you really think he is the one running this country, you got some thinking to do. He cant do anything without cheney. I forget what it was, some news conferance or something, and he wouldnt do it without his vice president. He was scared that cheney wouldnt be able to jump in and save his ass from a simple question he should know and not be able to answer without sounding like an idiot. And as far as the traitor thing.....do you remember when 9/11 happened that all the Bin Laden's that live in this country got flown the hell out of here to save their asses, during the middle of when every plane was grounded and they wouldnt let a plane fly to deliver a kid a heart on the operating table which the kid died. I sure do, and guess what, that was before Osama said that the Taliban was responsible for it. But go figure, bush has ties with the taliban Do you know of any other president that was/is in the middle of war, and decides to make the congress' and his main things to get done to be to revoke people's free speech, and worry about gays getting married? Who cares, we're in the middle of war, people are dying......and you're worried about taking away the very freedoms that they are over there fighting for. I just dont get it, people need to open up their eyes. This country hasn't gone anywhere in the last 4 years....except maybe backward. I aree....kerry probably wouldnt be the best president we've ever had.....but at least we wouldnt be dealing with a different puppet being pulled by different strings.....we've got nothing to lose..... By the way....I'm registered Republican and believe in Republican beliefs.....but Bush isnt following any of them and is doing a horrible job
  12. do a search on cal-atv, they used to have plastics for pretty cheap....I think their prices went up though
  13. to the man who likes more bling than a raccoon.
  14. .

    Tank Plastic

30 bucks? Thats more than you'd pay for new tank plastic. You can go to a yamaha dealer and get it for like 10 bucks a side, 5 bucks for the little rubber strips, and another 2 for the foam piece. All you gotta do is get a pop rivet gun to pop rivet them together. They probably will have one at the dealer and would do it for free if you ask them to as well.
  15. I've got 2 newer style stators, 75 + shipping for each. I've never had it on a running shee but if it doesnt work, send it back and I'll send you the other one. They should work, they are in good shape and came off running bikes before the top ends went on them. If for some reason they dont work I'd refund you your money. Just dont want to sell someone something that doesnt work Let me know
  16. dude, thats cheap for a bottom end. I've got one thats got a hole in the bottom case but I have extra cases that I'd sell for 500 + shipping......and not much less than that if any..... I'm just gonna part it out completely and probably make more than that anyway. low estimates: 100 crank 175 cases 125 trans 75 flywheel 75 stator 100 clutch 75 top case Thats 725 right there man......
  17. just a question on the piston kit. I only see 7 of the studs, and is that a new gasket kit or is it used?
  18. while your around brad, I've been thinking of getting a dyna for quite some time now. It's got the input for a tach and such. Do you guys also sell the tach that inputs into it? I looked on the site a while ago when the new one with the tach and all was coming out, but didnt see anything.
  19. those rubber o-rings inbetween the 2 pieces? send me a pm with what stuff you sell for the shee, dont know exactly what I'm interested in, but I'm sure something else might tempt my tastebuds. Also where to send money to. Thanks
  20. get yourself some boyeson dual stage reeds, they'll help a lot with your throttle response down low. I wouldnt drop a gear. Get yourself some dual stage reeds and a timing plate. They are both cheap and will help a lot. My next step would be to bump the compression up a bit (wouldnt go below a 20cc with stock pistons and such, I tore my top end apart running 170lbs) All these things will help you out and give you more noticeable torque down low. Toomeys arent that well known for their bottom end, and dont have a ton of torque out of the powerband. After you do all these things and if you still arent liking how it pulls out of the powerband, maybe looking into different pipes would be a solution to the problem. I'll suggest LRD's to you for future reference (low end torque is amazing and pull as long as T5's) (I should be a representative for LRD)
  21. Cant wait to you hit some good bumps or have to slam on your brakes and rock them right into the windshield and crack it. I've got a little light Iron Cross hanging from my rearview and it smacks the windshield pretty good sometimes. I cant even imagine how hard they'd hit.
  22. thats very cool that the coal company is deciding to do that. I dont see why they wouldnt, and actually meat, you might want to talk to govt/park officials and such and see if the coal company wouldnt even be willing to sell the land instead of just lease it. I just read in the paper you can get grants up to like 80% of the cost of opening a place for recreation purposes I believe they put it under. Just something to think about, instead of working for the place, you might be able to own the place. You and 2 or 3 other guys go in on a business loan to cover the other 20%. Maybe have a clause for the next 20 years the coal company gets 5% of the profits or something to sweeten the deal. I know Tower City is 250 bucks for a family membership a year that includes a tiny campsite. I dont know how many memberships tower has but if you have 1000 memberships that 250 grand, not to mention the 20 (tower charges 35 or 40 now for the weekend) bucks a day/weekend for all the other friends of members. And to all those people that have been riding it for free for the last 50 years that are gonna bitch, at least they will still be able to ride it. I've seen areas up your way, and basically all of NJ get completely shut down that the moment you ride onto the property you're running. And if you're from the direct area, maybe you get a 50 dollar discount or something. It's cool that theres towns close by that will be able to boom from it if it does happen. Tower is kinda out of the way from anything and its basically bring what you need or your driving for a little bit to get something. Besides the gas station thats down the road from there.
  23. How much you asking for the hangers? I might need a set or 2. Wont be home until 4 or 5 though to be able to let you know if I definitely need them
  24. .

    STATOR NEEDED

  25. metal strapping you can find at any hardware store would also work in a pinch with a couple bolts. Hell, you could probably use a piece of wire if you wrapped it through enough times
