  1. when the parking brake is engaged, it should idle, but bog when you give it throttle. Usually when the tors goes bad it will not idle on you anymore. Are you sure your slides are all the way down on both carbs, look through the air filter hole and make sure. Is your throttle cable sticking somewhere maybe?
  2. Razr2's, 20" blackwaters, or turf tamers depending on riding conditions. I'd go with the 2's or the blackwaters if I were you. Is their any other tires worth buying really besides realtors for the heavy duty crap?
  3. The leanest pipe is the hottest pipe
  4. where would we be riding?
  5. are the shocks new? What are they set up for? + a-arms, weight etc? Interested, but I dont want to wait 6 weeks to have stuff shipped again.
  6. It's gotta go..... great shape, will take better pictures hopefully during the week. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2483991683 Let me know if anyone wants it, I'm open to all good offers.
  7. good luck on that carbon fiber painted rad shroud, or the gas tank ones (if you want the carbon fiber) You can get black tank plastic for 10 dollars a side, and another 10 for the foam and rubber pieces, and clips for the screws from the dealership. The carbon fiber dipped plastic on the other hand goes for like 130 dollars a side for the tank plastic and 1hundred something for the rad shroud.
  8. I like how you put "the" before my name
  9. stock carbs, do you have the choke tube between the two carbs connected? They are new pistons in there I suspect? My engine smoked real bad for its first heat cycle (lots of white smoke), and it slowly calmed down. You should be able to see on your head gasket if its leaking, where its leaking from, it'll look like a wet burnt mark sort of. Do the check with the pipe for the crank seal as well, that smoke will smell pretty gross (if I remember correctly) Your air screws should be like 2-2 1/2 turns out (check jetting faq) I think. You need to sit down and learn your shee and learn jetting and such. A new engine without being broken in wont do anything in powerband except break up and not run right, kinda like when an engine is still cold. Take your time with it and do it right. Find someone that lives near you that knows quads that can help you out. They arent that hard, once you know them, and know how to work on them. Get a clymers manual and read it from cover to cover, even all the bullcrap that doesnt mean anything. You'd be surprised what you learn.
  10. different strokes for different folks I guess. I think the new LE looks like crap. It needs a black front bumper, and the graphics look like cheap alba knockoffs.
  11. Two years ago before I had my kickups on my footpegs, I was down at Hatfield-McCoy and had my work boots on (completely smooth bottoms from pounding them on pavement all day long), and hit a good sized puddle, then the next one their was a good size bump that I could jump the next puddle, and then their was a good hillclimb off to the right, right afterward. I hit the bump and went to put my weight on my left peg to shoot off and up the hillclimb and my foot slipped, went under my rear tire, and I came down on it with it under there. Fractured some stuff pretty good in there. Thing that sucks is that it was our 2nd day there (the best day of riding of the week I found out later), and I had to stop for that day and go back and put ice on it. When I got back to camp by the time I took my boot off, it was all black and blue, and I could barely walk on it. Later that evening we went to Wal-mart and I got a lace up brace and the tallest sturdiest boots I could find and toughed it out for the rest of the week. Oh yeah, lots of ibuprofen and Tylenol as well. Any of you that've ridden Hatfield-McCoy, or Tower City, or anything thats rocky, good hillclimbs, and good rough riding, think about doing it with a broken foot, where every little bump stings like you got hit in the foot with a baseball bat. It's rough, but you gotta ride.
  12. You're a wealth of information to this site and have given good answers to more questions than I could even think to ask. I've learned a lot from you, as have many others, thank you for that. Happy birthday man, take it easy.
  13. mine likes to not make my bike idle and down low it is real choppy, and then I'll hit a bump and it'll go back to running smoothly, and then I'll hit a bump further down the road and it'll be back to choppiness and not idling......That little black box has to goooooooo
  14. I go down every fall right after the second festival thing they have, usually arrive there that weekend and watch the races and such. We usually run rockhouse, some insane hillclimbs in those trails, and they are simply amazing. Best riding I could ever want. Dunes are fun and stuff, but I like my crazy ass insane, 3rd gear pinned powerslides around corners that have 200 ft dropoffs into nothingness, same with the hillclimbs, rocks bouncing you every which way and all you can do is stay on it, or things will get nasty, and its never ending hillclimbs, they just go up, turn (which you cant stop), and just keep going for a good 2 minutes or more at times. Good times.....we should get a ride together down there for the fall
  15. should work now....was working a bit ago

have stock front shocks from an '01 (white springs) used a little more than a year before I upgraded. Make me an offer I cant refuse. Looking for about ebay prices.
  17. I've got 2 coil/stator setups if your interested. Make me a good offer I cant refuse. I've never had them actually run but will guarantee you your money back if they dont.

    bikes

man, me and my buddy used to ride this bull taco (however its spelled) that was huge and heavy. If it fell over, we couldnt lift it up by ourselves. His uncle gave it to us and said if we could get it to run we could have it. Well that sucker ran, and if you had to stop somewhere, you'd find a tree, or something to rest it against when you pulled up. I remember having that thing fall on me once and being under it for 10 minutes trying to get it off of me, and another 10 minutes trying to stand it up before my friend showed up. Good times
  19. You caught a ring on the exhaust port, mine looked exactly the same, guaranteed when you pull that cylinder its gonna look real pretty on the side of that piston. It did it because you have to much play in your cylinder wall. mine was .009 thousands out of round (pretty much). Take it to a machine shop, tell them its a 64 stock mm bore and find out what size pistons you need. You're gonna need an overhaul, not just new pistons.
  20. http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISA...&sort=3&rows=50 relisted 2 of my ebay items. Still have the engine that I'd get rid of for 1000 shipped, or 850 shipped without the coolhead or studs but shipped with a stock head. If I sell it I'd be able to send you stock studs about a week later. It's a complete engine including carbs, and throttle cable, .40 over prolite engine, noss head with 21cc domes and a timing plate, engine was rebuilt recently and has low hours. Good strong running engine. I'd knock another 30 off if I keep the timing plate and put a stock one on. Still have the roller that I'll ship for like 1300 shipped to the west coast (500 dollars), and maybe a little less to somewhere else (800 + shipping). Pictures are in the for sale forum of everything. I will pull the auction on the gnarly's and sell them with it for 1000 + shipping for everything, or we can work something out with the other stuff I have for sale in the for sale forum. Let me know if your interested, all parts are quality and stuff I was going to use.
  21. it goes on the positive side of the starter wire.....right between the powerbands. lol, j/k what they said
  22. got a t-maxx with the .25 Humidity plays hassles on the low idle speed screw. I dont know if you're running traxxas fuel but it foams way to much for me. Was using it and couldnt tune the thing worth a crap, and as soon as I changed over to the trinity stuff, it was simple to tune, and ripped. The traxxas stuff kept cutting my engine off from the foaming and just was crappy all around I feel. The trinity fuel will run a whole tank with no problems.
  23. I dont know why dealerships are dicks like that and try to pry every dollar they can out of you. The dealership here, Montgomeryville cycle center, they are pretty fair about things, I stripped my axle and didnt have a die the right size to rethread it, so I had to go to them, and they charged me 15 bucks to do it, which is quite reasonable, took them like an hour from when they took it in till when I loaded it back up. The mechanic actually tightened up a lot of the other stuff on my shee (rear brake caliper was just snugged etc.) and said that I should go over all my bolts n stuff. Pretty fair for a change, wish every visit went as smoothly.
  24. THAT AINT COOL BRO..... YOU GUESSED IT, IM MEXICAN. why does it bother you so much? Do you have a green card? I could care less about bugs, spiders, anything of that sort, dont mind heights, or flying, or coming close to death. Before I met my girl and started being a family, I'd do stupid ass stuff all the time. Buying cars for 100 bucks and strapping a gas can to the hood with a fuel line running into it and slamming into trees and rocks and just beating the piss out of things. Hitting hillclimbs on my shee with ravine's off to the side and big lips at the top, rolling back down with my shee struggling to keep it from rolling into the ravine. Hitting jumps on my bmx bike as fast as I could pedal down this hill and just launching like 25-30 ft in the air.....clearing the landing by 15 ft and just bailing into the ground. I remember as a kid having this POS walmart bike (kmart at the time probably), and pedaling it down this hill where they were building a parking lot at the bottom and had this mound of dirt 6 or 7ft high.....just hit the thing as fast as possible and land with no landing....the bike only made it 2 jumps....I wouldnt of made it much more. My parents were pissed about that. The only thing I'm scared of is losing my family, or getting hit by a car at work and not be able to come home to them. Those fuckin foreigners with their little quiet hondas and foreign cars speeding past my truck in a development. I had to heisman trophy style on the front of this guys hood as he hit me at like 30 mph the one day, I rode the hood down a good 30 ft before he slowed enough that I went rolling down the street. Still dont know how I didnt get hurt. I've had so many close calls it isnt funny. You know how it is....you all are the other person.....you just want to get around the truck to get where your going. I've had people come so close to me that I'd be dumping my bin on the side of my truck, turn around with it and have it knocked out of my hand (I've done it a couple times on purpose, but not all the time). Sometimes on days I've had a few close calls, I just think about how I want to get home to see my daughters face. I'm crazy and dont care if I die, live it to the fullest, I just have to be a little more careful now that I have a family. I should seriously be dead by now by 10 fold P.S. Just had a helper hit the other day that was on a trash truck, he was walking a toter back across and she came speeding around the truck with her suv, put a nice big dent in the grille, he flew up over her car, putting a dent in the top front, causing the windshield to spider. She gets out of the car and the first thing she says is that she didnt hit him........later on when they were taking pictures she was being a bitch and asking if she should smile for the camera. People are assholes, and the job sucks when people dont respect your work area, and dont want to be delayed another 30 seconds and pass you on a blind corner or a blind hill. Alright, Im done with this topic.....I need to go ride......
