T-REX CYLINDERS, LECTRON CARBS, PIPES
. replied to T-REX BANSHEE's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
get me some pics of the supercharger, I want to check it out a bit. Who makes it? -
Look into the LRD's. I dont have many people to stand behind me on here, but I've rode a bunch of different pipes, and overall the LRD's just seem to prevail every time. I find myself clutching with other pipes, and the powerband hit is really short. The LRD's have tons of power when you're not in the powerband, and a really smooth delivery into powerband so it allows you to ride in that sweet spot all the time. And say the track doesnt fit to the pipe where you want to be able to ride in that sweetspot (really tight track/more of an open track), you can adjust the pipes which adjusts where the powerband starts to come on. So from track to track you can adjust the pipe so you can always ride in that sweet spot. Instead of changing your gearing and all that fun stuff. The low end pull is much like a 4stroke, I never have to clutch it, just need to be in the right gear, and the top end pull is dead even with the t5's Shipping on plastic is gonna be expensive to scotland, you do realize that right? The plastics are made by maier. (I doubt they have a distribution in europe) You might want to stick with an oem plastic, and come up with a good color scheme, and then get a nice graphics kit.

my email is acting all funny......I'll pm you my paypal address and let me know where you live and we'll work out a shipping price (I've shipped a lot, I can kind of guess about what it'll be), or I can go and get an exact price on shipping hopefully friday, if not definitely on saturday.

"we huff and puff but we wont go down" You figure it out
-
got the whole clutch setup I'd sell you for 80 + shipping, probably needs new fibers since they werent sitting in oil when I got the engine in parts. Includes everything else down to the center nut and springs.

you might want to look into getting a regular quad with a centrifigul clutch aftermarket upgrade for it. She'd still have to worry about shifting, but she wouldnt have to worry about stalling it out. Thats probably her biggest worry. I'm sure she'd be able to figure out how to upshift and downshift to keep the engine in the power.

Thank you guys very much, I finally got to page through all the threads and came across this. 9/11 has become a great birthday to have. I get asked all day how does it feel to have your b-day the same day as the terrorist attack, and see crap about it all day on the tv and the radio. At least this year it wasnt as bad, people are starting to settle down about it a little bit. And I dont know what I'm getting my banshee for my bday yet. I've got my polished cylinders and clutch cover from meathead so thats a good start. I got one of those craftsman lifts that puts it up in the air and one of those creepers that folds into a chair to work on it. I got some cash saved up, dont know exactly what I'm gonna do with it yet. I've got those cylinders that I'm probably going to get ported, but I'm kinda looking at purchasing a 4mm stroker cheetah setup that I could drop into the spare engine with the crack in the bottom case (i've got a set of cases as well). I think that would make a pretty good backup engine huh?

I love when the conversation starts out with something like "So how fast does it go, 90-100mph?" or something like "How fast does it go?" Usually I just start talking about the muffler bearings and what color powerband it has and see if they act like I know what I'm talking about.

got any pictures of that t-maxx with the supercharger? Especially close up pics of the supercharger? What kind of engine/would you be willing to just get rid of the charger or whole engine? -
Verrrry Intersting, was 9-11 a set up?
. replied to sweetshee4312's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Got 2 simple questions for you all that will throw a little mix into all this. Alright, when the president first heard about it, he was in a classroom with a bunch of kids, and when he was told, he sat there for a good 9 minutes or whatever it was, not saying anything, not doing anything, just sitting there. Why is that do you think? He even took time to take pictures before he left. Was he actually sitting there thinking, holy shit.....that summabitch actually did it. And I promised his family safety.... And secondly, How were all the Bin Ladens that were living in this country escorted out of the country, by plane nonetheless, when all planes were grounded at that point in time? A plane couldnt even get off the ground to get a heart to a dying child. Only problem with this question is that they were escorted out of the country before bin laden proclaimed that it was him and the Al Qaida that did it. It was done the evening of 9-11. These are all true facts, not just some internet hub bub. I'm not denying any planes hit any buildings, because the evidence is quite clear, I'm just saying ruling the conspiracy theory out might not be the quickest thing to do. -
did they say what engine/bike it was out of? Is that 8.95 a fiber or plate or what? we need more info.....well I do anyway....my clutch is starting to slip....and once it starts to slip its gonna be on its way out no matter how much I adjust it. And the one on my other shee....its been shot since the day I threw the engine in.

On a side note.....my birthday is this saturday

could anything pressurize the cooling system?
. replied to nickxc's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
where in the coolant bottle are you refilling your coolant to? Just a thought but for the first 4 months I had the shee, every time I rode it coolant would come out the overflow. It would piss me off, and after it cooled there would be just a tiny little bit in the overflow, if any. I'd fill it up to inbetween the lines.....and next time I rode.....same thing. Turns out if I put any coolant in the bottle, it'll overflow it and sit back down below the bottom line where it wants to. Just a thought. Are you sure your cylinders are mated up with the bottom end correctly as well? How tight did you make those inside nuts in the front that you cant get to with a torque wrench? Just trying to think of things. Do you have any buddies with banshees? Switch radiator caps and see if thats it, maybe the radiator cap failed -
is it wired into the rear brakes? Maybe that's wired wrong and messed something up when it was plugged in?
-
Follow the numbers in order on the stock head or refer to the clymers. Torque them to 10, 15 and then a final 20

it's called floating the gears. I do it in my spare work truck all the time so I dont have to double clutch it. Did you change the type of oil you were using? Have you changed the oil since you put the clutches in? I know the factory 10w-30 they throw in it makes it hard to clutchless shift, as soon as I threw in the Honda semi synthetic oil, shifting became smooth as butter.

when's the last time it had a rebuild? Have you checked compression on it? How high in the throttle does it take for the 2nd cylinder to kick in? possible things, I know the choke tube being undone will give you affects like you mentioned, but it usually wont start easily. pull the cap for the side that doesnt fire when at idle and throw a plug in it and see if its getting spark at idle. After that I would pull the carb that isnt firing and see if you have something in your pilot jet. If it is clogged it wont be getting fuel really on the low end, and may not be firing but when you rev it the main kicks in and it starts firing. another possibility is that you could be having some good blow by on the piston because it is worn and not producing enough compression to fire, but when it revs it's producing enough compression Check these steps out in order, Choke tube, spark, compression, clean carb. If you dont have a compression tester (every 2 stroke owner should have one), skip that step. The more I think of it, you were out riding, and it happened so chances are that may be the problem with the blocked pilot.
-
I've got a stock 2001 that has the original pistons still in it. Compression was 120 in each cylinder before I pulled it. I bought the shee and the guy who owned it hit a stump and put a hole in the bottom case. I have a spare set of perfect cases for it. I was either going to rebuild it, or part it out. The engine has pretty low hours on it, hole was noticed by buddy riding behind him right away, and everything is cherry on it besides that. Clutch should be alright, didnt get a chance to check it out due to crack in case though. I'm in philadelphia area and know it costs 60-70 to ship east coast and about 90 to ship out west.

how many ply are your holeshots? Better have the 6 ply if your heading to Tower. My holeshots were practically brand new, and we headed down from camp to some smaller coal hills and after riding them for like 5-10 minutes I ripped back to camp and threw my Realtors on. The holeshots just werent cutting it for shooting the hills. Just a note, I also sliced a hole that took 8 plugs to fill it in my realtors. It lasted the rest of the weekend, but I had to be careful with it. Spend the money now, get a set of realtors and throw a tube in them, it'll create a basically bulletproof setup that will get you anywhere. It was great with the realtors. I'd sit and watch these bikes and raptors and all sorts of 4 strokes get these running starts at these hills to make it up them, and I'd putt up to the bottom of the hill, click it in second, rev it up and drop the clutch and shoot right up the hill. I woulda loved to see the look on everyones face the first time I did it. And also, Tower City is a pretty cool place on the east coast, but it doesnt compare at all to Hatfield-McCoy. It is the Glamis of trail riding, and insane at the least. It's like taking Tower City and the Appalacian riding trails and exploding it by 100 times. Everything is bigger, steeper, crazier, and anything you can imagine is just that much more spectacular.

I've got a complete engine that the guy hit a stump and put a hole in the bottom case. I was either going to part it out, or rebuild it with the extra set of cases I have. 2001 engine with stock top end and 120lbs of compression in each side. Didnt get ridden that much so it has low hours as well
-
once you get them epoxy them bitches on......I've lost so many of them until I did this and havent lost one since.
-
Your problem is the holeshots with a stock swingarm, either get some 20" blackwaters or shorten your swingarm.
-
hey, what do you know, I do have it backwards. I'll sell either for 325 shipped. The gnarly's are more low end, the fatty's are the midrange and the other ones they make (forget what they're called SST's?), are the more of a top end pipe.

And he's been trying to secure our borders, and take away our 1st amendment, and get rid of abortion so we can go back to doing it in back alley streets, and worrying about gays liking each other among lots of other things. But what has he actually done? It's good for us, but bad for business because noone is buying the stuff, thats why stuff is marked so low and rates are so low. Businesses in this country are hurting for money. You know why they wont do it with a yfz, because its made in a foreign country. you can walk into basically any american car dealer and get a 0% 60 month interest rate. The only money they are making is on the mark up. Ah....so you're starting to see my point.....he got bumped over thousands of others to become a national guardsman and bumped over many others to become a fighter pilot......and you're right, what good would he have been over in vietnam with that training? It's amazing how things work so people that know people dont have to go risk their lives. Dont forget his deferrments that he got as well. here's a url for you....click on the pictures, theres some good ones: http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/im...tionalguard.htm
