yeah, I just rode around hatfield-McCoy for the last week with 3 400ex (2 of them worked pretty good, 1 stock), a stock z400, and my banshee. The 400ex's are good for hillclimbs, they put a lot of power to the ground, and are good for manuevering up some crazy ass technical hillclimbs full of ruts, boulders, ledges that you gotta pop up over, and just about basically everything that could possibly ever be thrown at you in a hillclimb. They are stable in that respect. Now my banshee on the other hand.....its not as nimble, and its not as manueverable. What it likes to do is hammer up hillclimbs 2nd gear pinned. While the 400ex is pussyfooting its way up around stuff, I just rocket up it bouncing and skipping over everything. The banshee took a beating, but it made it to the top every damn time. Only time it didnt make it is when I high sided on my swing arm skidplate going up a climb and where it turned a corner it was rutted out. It was so steep at that time that I had to stay on my banshee and slide a rock over and wedge it in a crevice just to be able to stand to get the shee turned around. And fuck whoever said a 400ex would be better at a quarter throttle. Get some pipes that will give you power everywhere in the rpm band. A banshee has more low end torque than you'll ever need....you just gotta build it that way. I wish I had my helmet camera battery pack the 1st day. The one climb was quite technical. 2nd gear pinned over rocks that were bouncing you everywere, to the one area, where it was a step up of ledges each about a foot tall, 3 or 4 of them. Downshift to first and basically, on this hillclimb (that was steep enough to begin with), pull the front end up over the ledges, and hop your way up them somehow. And then the hillclimb kept going.....

yeah, I've got stock white shocks from a 2001 that maybe have a year of woods riding on them before I took them off and put my works on. Who did the welding and jig work on the arm? Got pics? Give me a pm if your interested.

so basically what I'm seeing is that 1badbanshee sent of arms that supposedly had a bad ball joint. To make up for this he had another set of arms sent, and also sent a set of spindles? So basically McCann, you got your set of a-arms, and a set of spindles that work with them. What exactly are you still bitching about? The 100 dollars? I'd say the bent balljoints on the "lonestar" arms would pretty much taken care of that. Let alone the fact that he sent you spindles......and the a-arms werent even actually lonestars.....but some other brand that doesnt even compare.....especially what they are worth moneywise. If you say you had a bad dealing with him.....then thats your issue.....I'm not gonna bash you for it.....but geez man....what else you want him to do to make it right? How bout this.....he gives you the 100 dollars......but then you pay for the 2 bad balljoints (he paid for those other arms he sent you, thats the least you could do is fix what was wrong with yours), and then after you pay for the 2 bad balljoints, how about you pay him for the spindles as well..... And then you can call it even.....I'm sure 1bad wouldnt have a problem with that. and if your gonna still bitch about hardware after all that......I'm sure me or Nyuk have some nuts, bolts, and shit we could send your way.

Elka Dual Rates Front and Rear ONE RIDE ON THEM!
. replied to bigscary's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
what weight and arms are they set up for? I'll give you a grand -
Definitely dont have to worry about the spare parts thing. I've got a whole extra shee as a backup, and then I've got a dirtwheels that I can have stuff overnighted to the cabin we're staying at. Jeff at fast racing also gave me his card and said that if he can do anything to help me out if something breaks let him know, and if he doesnt have it, he'll find someone that does and get it overnighted to me. How's that for service from just buying a clutch from him. We've got epoxy and all that good stuff. Got a whole set of metric and sae wrenches, whole socket set, extensions, pipe wrenches, pry bars, and basically everything sdd mentioned. I had my 4wheeler pretty ripped apart and every tool I used I threw it in a crate to take. God this is gonna be a good trip....... I'll have pics when I get back......AND helmetcam footage when I eventually get it edited.

good stuff guys, I'm leaving for Hatfield-McCoy Friday morning.....should be a great time. I've got my 2 banshees, a 330R, a 400ex, and a z400 all being pulled by my little dakota. Best part is that there is only 3 of us going.

the gap between the flywheel and the pickup on the outside (little black box with magnet on it should be between .010-.015

I run the hondo hp or whatever its called that comes in a red squeeze bottle. It's about 4.50 a bottle. Looks a lot like atf but definitely not the same. I abuse the hell out of my clutch and its still grabbing strong after 4 years. Shifting is nice and easy, and I get quite a lot of ride time on the oil before I change it out. I wont run anything else but it. (unless I blow something out at hatfield mccoy and have to put another engine together etc.....then I'll be running atf)

If I remember correctly they look almost exactly like my outer flap of my dual stage boyeson epoxy reeds. And as far as the carbon fiber thing. I went out to check the stock cages I have out in my garage, I can guarantee they are stock (still even have the white mark on the screws from the factory). I dont have my camera, but the reeds almost have a carbon fiber look to them. They are dark, and then there is a carbon fiber pattern sorta. They arent carbon fiber, still definitely epoxy, but they do look like they are woven or something

TTT......anybody? Gonna go out in a bit and stare at the shee and just start writin down what I need.
-
dont do it......East coast that is

boyeson single stage epoxy reeds?

I'm not a big fan of razr1's or holeshots. With a stock swingarm, they just plain suck and just want to spin all day long. They'll grip until they lose their edge, and then just spin. It's hard to say what to run for a sand/trail tire. Might want to try some mudsharks. They'd probably do pretty good for the sand, might be a little heavy though. For fronts, if your in sand and theres tread left, you'll be alright for trails n stuff if its sandy. Where you live, NJ?

I agree. Get a ricky stator and advance it +4. It says it adds 2.1 hp but the hp number isnt the big factor. The timing that the cylinders fire is just so much better. The combustion is so much more noticeable, and you feel the power everywhere in the rpm band. I wonder how much torque increases?

Who said anything about deadly force?

I know a lot of you guys go prepared, do any of you have a list of every tool needed to work on a banshee when going away somewhere. Gonna sit down and make a list for hatfield-McCoy, was wondering if anyone had one written up already.
-
Youre not still planning on running that thing in the trails do you? You might find a sand pit thats big enough to play in lol, your gonna kill yourself if you take that in the trails. Remind me again how long and what gear your bike gets up to 70 in? Its really lookin good man. Make sure all those welds are nice and tight and arent gonna crack on you. That frame is gonna be under a lot of stress.

Throw another party and when your friends show up, give them a can of mace. If the mexicans show up again....mace their shit and then kick their ass to the curb. Personally....whenever we go to the mountains, we've got lots of guns to shoot off. God it would be nice to actually have some nice moving targets to shoot at.

mine caught a ring as I was heading back to camp down at Hatfield-McCoy. If I kept my rpm up it would actually fire on that side cause it was building enough compression. As soon as I let off it wouldnt fire, and backfire n just run like crap. It's something to look into and would just take a couple minutes to do. They usually catch on the exhaust port, so pulling your pipes and standing it up and lookin in the exhaust you'd be able to see the piston. Doing a compression test would have also helped if the head was on. I'd just look to make sure before I went throwing a head and gasket back on
-
get some dual stage reeds, if you dont want to spend the coin on the vforce yet. It will increase your throttle response dramatically. Completely change your quad.
-
PULL your pipes and intake and take a look in at the pistons from the side.....You may have caught a ring. On the top of my piston all there was was a little chip missing and pulled the jugs and it wasnt pretty

if you wanna sell that one frocash, let me know, maybe you can send it directly to boon. Rivets tight on it and stuff? want to get a lightened one to try out.
-
reed cages, head and bump the compression some, timing plate, porting. Only way your gonna hit 100 is if you change your gearing and get some good portwork done.....

Right cylinder just let go!

dude, that dont look good at alllllll Hopefully it didnt tear up the cylinder to bad -
How do you say that? The revo is faster (dont know about the 4.6 engine), suspension setup is better, ease of working on is a lot better, and it can take just as much of a beating if not more. Everything is sealed on it, its incredibly easy to waterproof. The only downside to it right now is that there arent a ton of aftermarket parts for it yet (getting much better in the last couple months), and stuff is still kinda expensive (its new, everything is expensive when they first come out) lets see a savage do this: http://www.traxxas.com/ftp/revo_mov/trx_video_revo07.htm this one shows off the suspension a little bit too: http://www.traxxas.com/ftp/revo_mov/revo_video_005.htm
