  1. You could do that, but how are you gonna know where +4 degrees is at? I just think the $35 is worth it because it's adjustable. You can set it to whatever you want.
  2. Yea, it advances the tiiming. Most people advance their timing +4 degrees. Get a port, V-force reeds, timing plate, and lighten your flywheel. The last three aren't going to make a huge difference. The port is pretty much your next option for more power. EDIT: The timing plates are really easy to install. They're located behind your flywheel under the stator cover. You'll need to get a flywheel puller to remove the flywheel, and while its off you might as well get it lightened. You just unbolt the stock timing plate and bolt on the advanced timing plate.
  3. It all depends on what you're looking for from the motor. It's not ported? The fatty's would work, but then again the bike will run if you put stock pipes on it. It all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing. If you're in dunes, or mostly looking for top end I would look into some "big bore" pipes. Possibly shearers, CPI's, and Rockets...but you'll be waiting until Febuary for the rockets. On the gas question. That would depend on your domes for an aftermarket head, or if your stock head is shaved. Check you're compression when you get it all together to see if you need to run race fuel. Last time I checked 160 psi was the limit for 93 octane.
  4. who is almost everyone? I agree that a 43 hp 450 will probably beat a 48 hp banshee in most cases because of traction. But we're not talking about a 5 hp difference here...more like 40-50 horses!! Actually 61 hp quoted from a shop that sells ice cube kits. I'm almost hitting that with a port!
  5. I also got mine from ebay awhile a go. It's plastic and only cost me $19. I've heard a lot of people say good things about TM Design Works' products. I think they'll be the next company I get my chain guide/roller from.
  6. You have the same mods I did awhile back. My next step was the MX port. If you're mostly interested in FAST, I'd give Jeff a call and tell him what you're looking for. He would at least give you an idea of what he could do to help you get where you want to be. I'd look into a port, carbs, reeds, head, lightened flywheel, and a timing plate. Make sure your clutch doesn't need replaced, also. I had a little trouble with the stock clutch slipping. I put in 3 EBC VERY stiff springs mixed w/3 stock springs and I haven't had a problem since. The port is going to be the biggest difference to a stock motor and if done the way you want, it will make it much easier to ride.
  7. There's a company called XGX graphics that make some pretty crazy graphics. I've seen a set of these on bike in person and it really stood out from the rest. It's a little too busy for my taste, but if you're looking for crazy, I'd check 'em out. I searched for them on the net and this was the best I could find.... XGX Graphics
  8. That's pretty stupid they call it a trailor . That fallout preview looks sweet, too. I can't wait to get both vids. FALLOUT PREVIEW
  9. Here's the Huevos 8 trailor if anybody hasn't seen it, yet. Looks pretty damn good to me. CLICK ME
  10. those boots really do suck ass. I've never heard of the truck idea. Did it really work? I wore my boots around the house/garage for a while with little to show for it. So I researched about it online. I read that you should coat them with shoe polish/wax and put them in a black garbage to sit outside in the sun. But now that it's winter, theres not too many people in the US that can do that right now. I tried it, and it seemed to help quite a bit.
  11. Holy shit!! Didn't see that comin'. I even fell for the "it's better if you turn the volume up" shit. I was doing so good, too.
  12. It's aight It'd be fun to play around with. Like Brock said...it really needs to fix the hood and intake. You either fit it under the hood, or stick it out of the hood. The way thats set up doesn't look very clean at all.
  13. They're both going to make the front end come up A LOT easier. I'd say it's closer to a four stroke. But it's still going to spin more just because of the power band. sycoracer, I'd decide on a -1 or a -2. They're both going to make it easier to get the front end up, and it's going to handle a lot better then stock. I had a buddy buy a +2 swinger and he could never get through the trails worth a $hit.
  14. It sounds to me like a Gorr woods port would be awesome for what you ride. I have no experience with TR6's, but I think if Eric says it will work, then it will work. BUT, are there other pipes out there that will have a better response to the port? I think that's the most important question. I say the only thing you can do is try the TR6's w/the port and if you like 'em, keep 'em. If you don't like 'em, sell 'em and buy another set of pipes that you think would better fit your style of riding. And if you end up selling them, you might even save some money. I sold my T-5's after getting the port (Gorr) and bought Pro-Circuits, and I actually came up with $100 from the swap!
  15. I'm a little confused on what you're looking for. IMS does make heel guards, which are set up just like the stockers. If that's not what you're looking for, then do you mean Nerfs w/heel guards? If so, AC racing, DG, and I think Pro Armor makes those.
  16. IMO, the stock carbs don't come close to the 2 into 1's. Believe it or not, going back down to dual 24mm stock carbs will actually give you less flow than a single 35mm. I would think it'd be a huge pain in the ass to switch out carbs everytime you want to go to the dunes. If you like the ease of jetting a single carb, I would stay with it. And unless you have a port job, you're probably not even using that 35mm to it's full potential. I would personally look into a port job, then POSSIBLY think about getting a bigger single carb..maybe a 40mm Lectron.
  17. They look homemade to me I've never seen anything like those before. It doesn't even look like the lowers would bolt up to the frame, they look bent. I would find out what type of thread you have in there, and then start looking for ball joints. As far as I know, most aftermarket ball joints should fit in aftermarket a-arms, but I'm not positive on that.
  18. Did you buy the Pro-flow adapter for the K&N, too?!? Some people re-jet, some people don't. If you're going to take the air box lid off, jet up one size. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it unless you're showing symptoms of being lean.
  19. I like seeing a little change around here every so often. That's an awesome winter pic! Congratulations BigRed350x!
