Well it's sounds like you'll be 18 by the time season starts. But yeah, you can have you parents sign everything for you if you're not...at least here you can.

I'm not too sure about your local tracks. But when I started I just showed up to the track a couple hours early to get all the paperwork out of the way. Try to find out if the track you plan on starting at has a website with some sort of info or contacts. As long as you're 18, you shouldn't haven't any trouble doing what I did. Bring plenty of dough for membership fees .

I've got 2 10" compVR's in my reg. cab S-10. They sound pretty good, and cheap, too. I would get Solarbarics if you can fit 'em.

Hows your banshee at jumping?

No money -
Actually this color would have matched my BLUE shee a 'lil better... I would have definately thought twice about going to Elka rather than TCS if they would have been able to get me that color.

That's what I had done by Gary at Quicksand Racing. It's quite a bit cheaper than looking for a good used swinger. No complaints besides still having the stock chain adjustments . -

Good luck. I'd look into an aftermarket frame... -
I'm not sure on the exact price differences between the two shocks you mentioned, but I would be willing to bet the quality of Elka's are worth the extra dough if you have it. To sum it up....get the best shocks you can afford. Click here for a little more knowledge on suspension.... ---->Basic Suspension Theory<-----

I've got PC's and love 'em. I had T5's before and these seem to hit sooner than the T5's with my port. I have no complaints about the PC's other than they don't sounds like T5's . Now that I'm riding around in fields, I really miss that Toomey sound. I would go with the Pro Circuits

For rears I've only tried the 20" original razr's and the 18" Kenda Klaws I have now. The razrs aren't even comparible to the Klaws. I haven't found anything wrong with these tires, yet. I've had buddies try Razr MX's and Holeshot MXR4s and they are all now happily running Kenda Klaws. The guy w/the Holeshots got about 8 track rides on 'em until the front of every lug was almost gone. He flipped 'em around and got about 3 more races out of them. So, he went and got some Klaws. He's more than happy with the way the ride. And they're cheap, too. The MXR4's hook 'em really well, but between the price and how fast they wear...they're not worth it to me. My next 18" tire will definately be the Kenda Klaws again unless something new comes out that's suppose to outperform them.

Yea, I saw it advertised a couple times, too. Looks like it should be pretty good. It's about time they get some quads on T.V.!

There's nothing wrong with buying used pipes. Just make sure they're in working shape. I've bought both my T5's and my Pro Circuits used. Both were in great shape. I think it's pretty stupid to buy a brand new set of pipes when you can find used pipes in immaculate shape for hundreds less.

I had the same problem when installing mine. If the thread sealant doesn't work, get some copper washers and a set of acorn nuts. I found a really nice set of acorn nuts on ebay pretty cheap. They make the head look even better and I haven't had any problems with them.

It IS a sixer. It's a cummins. Good luck finding an 8 cyl cummins motor...

Careful with the Flys. I had a freind that had a set. They look pretty nice and are cheap but they snapped on him on both sides of the mount. Like hittintrees said, you really can't go wrong with renthals. I had the older ATV bend bars and never had a problem bending them, and I've had my share of rollovers. Now I've got low bend Renthal Fatbars on a +2 stem. I like the low bars, but I'd hate them if I still had the stock stem. Try and find some buddies with high bends and low bends to see which you like better. Oh, and stop yelling...

I've heard of people going to .100 over. But you're making your cylinder walls paper thin. I'm pretty sure .100 is the limit. When it blew, what happened to the actual cylinder walls? Even if you can put it back together with a .100 bore, I'd start looking for some new jugs/sleeves or possible a cub motor for next time...

My grill is home-made . The numbers are stainless steel tig welded to the steel background. Then I just cut the steel to fit inside my rad. cover.

Thanks bud. 'Shee rips shit, but now its time for a makeover...

Whoa whoa whoa.....you never NEED to bore unless the cylinders need it. Honing cleans up any small defects in the cylinders. If they can't be removed by honing, then you NEED to get it bored. I think I put everything together in about 3.5 hours for my first time. It shouldn't be too much different than a single...

wow ....that looks so fuckin stupid. What the hell would you take it through where you'd actually use all 53 inches of those tires? There's a moron that owns a truck shop around here that's driving around town on 49's. Beautiful truck, but too damn tall. And it's a fuckin' pavement pounder...

I run 15/41 on a pretty tight track. You need to try diifferent set ups yourself and see what you like best. 12/41 is ridiculously short gearing w/any type of motor mods. You've gotta be shifting your ass off with that... ---------->MX GEARING<-----------

Its really a personal preference. They really help in racing XC and MX. If you do get a low or flat tire, you can finish the race because the bead won't pop off of the rim. And with beadlocks, you have lot more flexability in tire pressure. When you're jumping on tires w/ 2 psi of air in them (I wouldn't recommend it), you're gonna be popping your beads...unless you have beadlocks.

CV 2-1 or New Dual Carbs.......
Banshee17Racing replied to Nitmare67's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I bet anything you won't lose any top end over stock carbs if you're jetted right! Now w/ dual 28's, I'd think it would be a lot closer. And I remember seeing a dyno chart that showed 30 mm's pull longer than a single 35. Plain and simple, if you are looking for easier jetting, you will be more than happy with the 2 into 1 set up. I've got Eric's "Woods" port and a single 34 mm PJ. I couldn't be happier with the way she runs. I mostly ride MX, trails, and open fields. Call Eric and see what he recommends... -
You should be just fine if you get some rings w/ the port. That's what I ended up doing. When you send your jugs to Eric, ask him if he thinks it needs bored or honed. I just ended up getting my cylinders honed w/ new rings when I got the port EDIT: By the way, I'm at 800 ft and my compression was 155 psi (w/21 cc domes) in both cylinders last time I checked.
