  1. Where exactly did you measure the piston at? The ring land area is smaller than the skirt of the piston. If you measured the skirt on the bottom and the very top by the rings then that would account for the huge difference (.014") in size. When you measure the piston to find the dimension you need to bore to, you need to measure the skirt and then add .003" for piston/cylinder clearance. Like you already said it is smart to bore a little small and hone to size to get rid of the bore bar marks.
  2. Thats good, at least I'm not the only one
  3. Nevermind, stupid problem found, junk outerwear, I was looking at it when I revved it up and it sucked the outerwear right to the filter, it has a thin film of junk on the inside of it that will NOT come off, really strange, I had just washed it two days ago, never seen anything like it before, removed outerwear and runs awesome.
  4. I'm having a problem with the second Banshee that has proven a little tough to track down, starting to think maybe a twisted crank but all this Banshee has is a set of Fattys, +4 timing, and .030" off the head, nothing very aggressive. It fires right up beautifully, idles great, revs right up like normal, very crisp just like it should be, but when you get on it and take off anything past 1/4 throttle or so it just falls right on its face, smokes a ton (blue) and loads right up, if you stop you can rev it up and clean it out and it'll rev right up like normal, but as soon as a load is put on the motor it just has nothing again. Compression ~ 130lbs both sides Cleaned carbs, then tried another set Cleaned air filter New plugs I swapped out (one at a time) the coil/wires/caps, stator, and CDI off of my Banshee. Reeds look fine and are sealing against the cages. Still no go, so any suggestions as to what I'm missing? All I can think of now is a twisted crank, could that cause the problems I'm having? Thanks guys
  5. If you have access to one a bead blaster is really nice for finishing the intake, leaves a very nice even texture. Hard to tell much else from the pictures.
  6. Me in my 79 Ford playin towtruck. 40" Super Swamper TSL's
  7. Try Color Rite, they handle all the factory Yamaha paints by your year and model. They also sell small touchup bottles. 1-800-736-7980
  8. Boats are pretty sweet too. I have a 46" Prather v-hull that I'm working on finishing. I've got a stock 25cc Homelite in it, I'm sure it won't be as fast as yours but maybe after I run it a little I'll get serious on the motor. All I gotta do now to finish is have it painted. eehsnab2, I laid the silver and black just using masking tape, alot of the details are actually decals. thanks though
  9. Here's the body I just picked up. I bought it clear and I painted it yesterday.
  10. I'm pickin up mine tonight, can't wait to play with it!
  11. Any of you guys play with rc stuff? I just bought this. It's a Team Associated 1/8th scale Monster GT. Full independent suspension with 8 oil-filled rezzy shocks. Disc brakes. 2 speed auto tranny, forward and reverse. It's 22" long and the tires are 7" high. It's got a 3hp 25,000+ rpm nitro motor. Gimme a week or so to get used to it and I'll post a vid jumpin my house with it I'll be gettin a F-650 body for it soon!
  12. According to that calculator a 190-40 would be 20" tall and a 260-80 would be 30" tall. The 260-80 would have alot of sidewall.
  13. 190/40-14 would be 190mm wide with a sidewall that is 40% the dimension of the width which would be about 76mm on a 14" wheel. I believe that's how it goes if I remember correctly. First number is the tread width, second is the aspect ratio (profile) and third of course is wheel diameter.
  14. How could that be anything short of awesome in a Banshee? 210hp! Probly doesn't rev that well but just imagine the tires and gearing you could pull with that!
  15. Shift it like there's no tommorrow and don't worry about it. The gears in a Banshee tranny are in constant mesh, so you can't mess the teeth up. Worst case scenario you can only break the ears on the sides of the gears, they are pretty tough though, I've done unspeakable things to my Banshee tranny for years and its still going. I figure if I eventually blow it parts are cheap. Shift it however you like and don't worry about it. That's my opinion.
  16. I run Razr's and probably will go back with them, my brother runs Knarlys, same size as mine, 20's. We've switched em back and forth between both bikes and the Razr's get the thumbs up between the two for where we ride. I can see where the Knarly's may work well for your situation, loose dirt, we ride mostly hard pack and wouldn't buy em again. Just my honest opinion, not everything works for everybody, but I don't think you can go wrong with the Razr's.
  17. Everything is good to go! The kicker has been sent out and I've got the tracking #. Thanks for straightening everything out. Thumbs up for Sanddragon Motorsports!
  18. Hey man, just tried to send you another PM but I'm not sure if it went through, said your inbox may be full. Anyways here's my info. I haven't recieved any tracking number as of yet. Thanks
  19. I would prefer them without rims but if the price is right ya never know Would you sell just the tires?
  20. OK, do you still have a set of TT tires for sale or can I leave this useless bickering?
  21. Weren't the old FMF's just Gold Series and they were replaced with the new design Gold Series Fatty's? Look at the two sets of pipes, if the bends look the same then go with whichever looks nicer because they're the same pipe. There is a big difference between the original gold series and the gold series fatty's. If the two sets are different stick with the fatty's and paint em up or have em chromed. Around here we have to be spark arrested so I run the Turbine Core's, if you don't have to be spark arrested go with the regular Power Core's in my opinion.
  22. I couldn't care less how fast your Banshee goes, but I would like to see pics of the TT tires if you get a chance. Thanks [email protected]
  23. I'll try sending him a PM, I thought bringin this to a public forum where he trys to do business might get his attention. I'm sure its just a simple miscommunication, will let you guys know how it turns out.
