  1. That's awesome man!! Can't wait to see your progress, you're off to a damn good start!
  2. Empty your PM inbox, broke!! LOL  Tried responding to your last message but says you already have too many of them
  3. Very nice methyman!!! What size/stroke cylinders are you running?
  4. Glad to help!!
  5. I kind of agree with bkabina, I remember hearing about your past two engine failures and I'm thinking there's something going on that's causing your problems. I would highly recommend trying to find the exact reason for the past two problems before going and spending the money on the cubs and having the same thing happen on a new set of cylinders. What size carbs were you running with your old setup? I'm not trying to be rude, etc, this is just my opinion on what I would do if I were in your shoes.
  6. Oh yeah, they still make Toomeys. http://www.toomey.com/ I know there are a handful of people running the Trinity Stage 4 pipes, RNBRAD seems to really like his set. I'm not sure on the power range since I've never run them, maybe someone who owns a set will chime in. :baseball_original:
  7. I think so...I've always known PC pipes to be a more mid range pipe; where T5's are a mid-top pipe. I use to run T5's on my trail bike and really liked them, and they ran good when I took it to the dunes too...I just think you'd be better off with a pipe like the T5's so your power will be spread across a broader spectrum of the powerband, where the drag pipes are going to give you more power, but in a smaller range and only at the top of the RPM's....does that make sense? Also, T5's react very well with any porting
  8. I agree  T5's would be ideal with the setup you're running.
  9. That's terrible news!!! :baseball_bat:
  10. I think those tires you're running will do well, especially while you're working on your launches. I usually don't have problems with mine spinning, but if they do, one good burnout fixes that! I'd love to come up that way sometime, we'll have to try and arrange something soon. My boss is pretty flexible about me taking Fridays off as long as I give him a couple weeks notice
  11. That's cool, I totally understand. If he does flake out on you, let me know. I have paypal or can get you a money order in the mail tomorrow. Thanks!
  12. Need a modded shift star. Anyone got one, let me know!
  13. It's happened to me too...I was lucky like blueshee though and didn't crash, but came close!!!! You should get you some good gloves to wear, or we could just zip ty your wrists to the handlebars  J/K!!!! How you doing? Everything healing OK?
  14. I can't tell you the physics behind it but when I started out I had the bike sitting up kind of high, almost like how it would sit with stock suspension on it but slightly lower. I rode it a few times and it didn't want to keep the front wheels down. Once I lowered the rear down and adjusted the front too, I started getting better, more consistent launches and it felt much more comfortable. This is just my experiences and what works for me, you can do whatever you feel is best for you. I was mainly suggesting that you get a set of adjustable struts to help decide what length shock you'll need to go with...that way you can play with different lengths/height and see what you like most. What kind of track are you setting this up for?
  15. Very true. I know elevation will affect how your bike or car performs too.
  16. I agree!!! You're lucky you have a 1/4 mile track that will let you run, only tracks around here that cooperate with quads are 1/8 mile.
  17. That's all it takes!!!!
  18. Sent you a PM a couple days ago, is the star still for sale? Thanks!
  19. You should run better than that...I'm running a stock stroke, stock cylinder drag ported 350 and weigh almost 300 lbs and turning upper 7's in the 1/8th. My 150 lb friend got a 7.52 on my bike, and could easily break into the 7.4's, maybe 7.3's with better launches. Not saying your times are bad, you just definitely have room for improvement. I noticed the biggest difference when I changed the gearing. I know you said it was an 1/8th mile track but the length can be different depending on where you go. My track is 660 ft, where some 1/8th miles are only 600 ft. That 60 ft will make a noticeable difference in your time. I think the track race-a-holic was at is 600 ft, it seemed shorter than my local track
  20. I run a no link on mine and like it a lot. I haven't tried it with the linkage to compare though....I'd recommend getting some adjustable struts until you figure out what length strut/shock works good for you, then order your marvins. You'll want to set the rear end up so your swingarm will be close to straight across, then adjust the front as necessary. I started off with the front end about even with the rear and had trouble keeping the front end on the ground. I lowered the front an inch or so and it helped a lot with controlling the wheelies.
  21. Agreed!!! Pics are always good
  22. LOL, I totally agree!!!!
  23. Hey Dallas, did you check both rear tires to make sure they're still inflated equally? I'm wondering if maybe the screws in the right rear tire broke loose and it spun on the wheel, while the left tire grabbed and sent you to the wall.... Could be like j-madd suggested though. If that's the case, we'll never know for sure
  24. I don't think the brake locked up, just because I've locked mine up several times and it still pushes forward. Unless you have some serious braking power, I think something else happened. Can you tell if any of the adjuster nuts on the tie rods were loose...maybe causing one side to get out of whack and send you sideways? I was watching the video I posted and I could tell you were pulling to the right on that last run you and I made...maybe it vibrated loose and was enough to really throw off your steering...I don't know, I wish I could have been a fly on the guardrail so i could have seen what happened up close.
