  1. well, since most of yall ride WOT, I take it yall have not had a serious accident on one yet . Just a couple months ago I broke my collar bone (on a dirt bike) when I was comin down this hill climb and my brother was comin up the same hill on another dirt bike and we didn't see each other till about 50 foot apart. I was on the left rut goin down, he's in the same one, then when I move to the other rut, he decides to move over too, . We hit head on at about 25 mph. Didn't do anything to the bikes, just twisted teh forks a little, no biggie. The impact was so hard when i went over the front end and hit the other bike's bars square with my shoulder that it broke my left collar bone. I had a helmet on, thankfully, cause I remember my head boucein off somethin . My brother didn't have one though, and he didn't have a scratch or anything . ( he used to not wear a helmet, but now he does all the time). I hold back because I dont want to risk a high speed accident, cause it would more than likely re-break the bone again, and one time was enough for me . And I really just aint comfortable goin 70-80mph + on a quad. I've already had a lower a-arm ball joint pop out when I did a tiny little jump and I'd really hate to think about that happening if a ball joint popped out going wide open accross a field or down the street. Wouldn't be nothin left but to just get a shovel and 5-gal. bucket and scoop up whats left of me
  2. well there aint a whole lot you can do to keep from spinin in the grass. But sometimes I do a little rollin burnout a couple of feet to get down to the dirt so i can get a little traction, and it usually works too . I dont usually race on the street, but i recken just sit on the gas tank, pin it, dump the clutch, and feather it when she starts comin up on ya. And as far as pipes go, most people suggest fatties, T-5's as all around, I got bill's pipes and they work great.
  3. but what "kind" of tires do you have on thoes ITP rims? yea those 250 four strokes are quick for their size. I rode a nice xr 250 and it impressed me after riding a banshee and yz 250. I assume the xr 250 has the same kinda power as the race 250f's but i've never rode one . But you should at least get some pipes, then give him a shot, should be pretty close.
  4. I guess by no pipes you mean stock . Do you still have stock tires? if so, yea you'll lose, dont even waste your gas racing him
  5. Well, I ride in the woods and trails, hill climbs and stuff and drag race out in the open fields around my house. On the trails I like to go fast, but I always hold back a little cause I dont want to wipe out or anything and get hurt or mess up the banshee. On the drag strip I try to go all out, but I also try to take it easy on the banshee, like not just keepin it wide fuckin open the entire time im racing, make it last a lil longer If there's someplace im riding where I know that I could wreck or mess up or something, I will usually hold back.
  6. about what temp. does the coolant start to boil? I dont have a temp gauge. My bro was doin dounuts this one time for like 2 minutes straight at about 2nd-3rd gear and when he stoped the coolant in the overflow was boiling . did it overheat?
  7. well, if it were me chosin between the two, I'd get the YZ. Im not ditchin the banshee or anything, but it sounds like the previous owner may have really rode the shit outa it and trashed it or somethin i guess. If you really really want a banshee you will find one in better condition and for a better price if you search hard enough. I found mine in a auto trader mag not to far from where I live for $2400. its a 2001 and in really good shape and came with lots of aftermarket goodies like pipes and other stuff and even extra plastic, tires, stock pipes, etc. Do you have any experience with riding bikes? Cause they can get ya hurt if you cant handle the type of power those 125's put out. you pretty much have to ride fast and stay on the pipe or else they say you foul plugs and shit. I've rode one on the trails and loved it, but i'm kinda a small guy and those bikes are pretty big for me .
  8. yea, it does sound kinda terrible, but I like it and thats all that matters . Maybe i like havin a loud truck that wakes people up at night . and, it says "ravin" on the muffler, I know there is a site somewhere, but I forgot what its called.
  9. I guess it made u sick to the stomach when u found out. I kinda know the feeling when i got my dirt bike stolen a couple years ago. turned out it was a couple of no good punk all bitch teenagers who also stole a car and a golfcart with my bike. I found it down the road in a tobacco barn though the next mornin. Hope you get it back and when/if you find the basterds make sure u givem' hell
  10. they say gibson exhausts are pretty good, and they sound nice too. Go to their website and listen to some of the sound clips. Or you could do like me and just make your own exhaust . I got a 96' 4 cyl sonoma with dual straight pipes. I first took it to a local muffler shop and they cut out my old exhaust and then I had them put in a ravin muffler with 2 outlets and put dual pipes straight out the back. Then after a while I got bored and decided to take the ravin muffler out and replace it with regular pipe. I couldn't find a piece of 2 into one pipe to fit, so I went to auto zone and bought a bunch of pieces of pipe and cut n' welded my own and stuck it in place of my muffler. Now my truck has nothin but pipe for the exhaust, no muffler or catylitic converter ( < was cut off before i bought it). Its pretty loud, especially when you rev it high and whined out each gear, but the tone is just badass sounds like one of those fast n' furious cars
  11. oh yea, nothin is better than a banshee in wet grass . I got worn out bandits on mine and went out for a ride. it was just barly rainin, enough to settle the dust, and I headed out to the field. I swear it was slicker than ice. I got through all 6 gears in 20 or 30 ft, shreadin grass rooster tails like crazy and talk about dounuts, I got up to 4th gear on one, hafta try for 5th later but it might not pull,
  12. I have bill's pipes and i think they are pretty good. they sound awesome and have Very good mid range and low end, but I dont think the top is as good as other pipes, but these are the only ones i've tried. Some times when I do wot runs in the fields and stuff, I try whinding out some of the upper gears like 4th and 5th, and it seems like they dont pull as hard when the rpms start to really climb. but the low end on my bike is very good. on level ground, i can start it in 1st with out clutchin it and it will walk away from ya a puttin,
  13. what about a yz 490 blaster? A kid in my welding class made one and it turned out pretty good from what I heard, but I never seen it run. he said that it had fair low and mid, but a badass topend. and that it would run about 70-75 mph. But then he traded even for a 300ex, hell if I know why If I had the money I would have bought that from him and stretched it out into a drag/trail bike or somthin, I'd say it would probably give a shee a run for its money
  14. hell yea it would make a good muddin motor with all that hp and torque you'll be churning out just put on teh biggest set of mud or paddle tires you can find and you'll be king of the mud hole
  15. omg lol, them kids on those little 4 strokes that always wanna race ya are kinda like flys, always buggin ya and pissin ya off untill you smack em
  16. when i drag on dirt, I usually start in 2nd when the traction is pretty good. I rev it up pretty good so it wont bog and kinda set in a neutral position on the seat leaning over the bars. Then when I dump the clutch and it starts to spin, I slide all teh way back to the grab bar to get traction and hold er wide open the whole way to the finish line. I never let of the gas when i shift and I just have to barely pull the clutch in to shift. nothin shifts like a banshee, i think, and I shift through the gears as fast i can till about 5th, where i like to whind it out, on a 300ft track, which is what i race on
  17. well, heres how i made my track. I made my dirt drag back in a flat section of field where alot of my trails and stuff are. I just took a lawnmower and mowed two 300ft strips about 4 or 6 feet wide. Then I took a tiller (didn't have a disc and tractor that i could use) and tilled up both strips. I did 2 runs over each strip, 1st run to break up the ground and 2nd run to really loosen it up. Took about 2-3 hours w/o stopin to do. It worked out great. but after about 8 or 9 runs with the shee, ruts started to develope. then when it didn't rain for a while it got really dry and traction was almost gone at the start, really hard packed with dry powder on top, and the dust got really bad. Then when it did rain it would turn into a mud drag. I could spin all the way to 4th gear in the first 50 ft. I haven't re tilled it since i made it and the ruts are pretty deep.
  18. dang, did it kill the kid? and btw, very killer what your riggin' up and keep the updates comin
  19. pain in the ass to, In my opinion. I got the tors though
  20. thats bad ass . It would rule if somebody could mount that in one of those little mini choppers/ pocket bike things or a little go cart or somethin. Talk about being pimp ass
  21. "Unfortunately, on June 30th, 2005, Toby will die. I am going to eat him. I am going to take Toby to a butcher to have him slaughter this cute bunny. I will then prepare Toby for a midsummer feast. I have several recipes under consideration, which can be seen, with some pretty graphic images, under the recipe section." does that wabbit have no ears?
