When does yamaha usually update their site?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm kinda interested in what the 06 banshee and blaster is gonna look like. I wonder if there gonna update the little yz 85? They haven't changed it for a while. I heard that some time soon they were gonna make a 4 stroke for the 85cc class. Something like a 125cc or 150cc liquid cooled 4 stroke in a 85 chassis with race suspension and setup. I think that would make me a mean little trail bike . I got a ttr 125 and a honda crf 150 that I ride in the trails. There quick in the trails, but not much power when ur in the open -
I've been thinking a little about porting and I have a couple questions about this mo' better everywhere port. How much would it cost? I've looked on the eric gorr site for the price of this type of porting but I can't find it. I don't see anything that talkes about porting for the banshee, mostly just mx bikes. What do you have to send to him to get the porting done? I have no clue of even how to ship my engine or cylinders. If I got my cylinders ported, would it be a good idea to get the stock crank trued and welded? I hear alot of people say that it should be done if ur ported .

When does yamaha usually update their site?

Does anyone know when yamaha usually updates their site with the new models? I was thinkin around close to this time? Or is it around mid summer or somethin? -
Yea, I painted my stock pipes chrome . their bad ass now The reason I said bill's pipes is be cause those are the pipes that were on my shee when I bought it. I've not rode anther banshee with other pipes so I cant compare I do love the sound though, like minnshee01 said, they have a very unique sound to them, and at idle they sound great, a nice and steady ping ping ping

well what you need to go with first is a set of gold powerbands for your stock pipes. you can get them at mike's cycle world. 2nd you'll need some muffler bearings cause there always going out ( i'm on my 4th set) and finally you'll need to get you a graphics kit 5 hp right there

what happens if you keep ur shee compeletey stock

The yfz 450s are like locusts that have spread over the entire sport of atving. They have already wiped out the 250r's . I watched a gncc race on tv the other day and I didn't see nothin BUT yfz 450s, and trx 450r's. -

R Cheetah cubs trail friendlyl
trail rider replied to Animalman294's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Here's what I think is a good trail motor. One that has lots of power ( if you prefer lots ) but you also have to be able to control and use what power you have. To me, if you want lots of mid, top end for trails and your capable of the high speeds and handling it and using it, then the cubs should make ur day . If your just some guy who will think he's a badass or somethin just cause he's got cub cylinders with lots of hp or torque, but ain't got the balls or skillz to handle the power then it wont be fun at all . I guess you could kinda compare useing a wood's ported shee and a cub shee in the trails to riding a four stroke trail bike and a 2 stroke race bike. I'd much rather be on the trail bike cause the power is better suited to that type of riding with plenty of low and mid range. The race bikes can be rode on the trails, you just gotta ride them different. I've rode 250's and 125's on my trails and their fun as hell with that hard hittin' power band. But Its alot harder for me to ride fast on one cause to really use the power you have to ride balls out. I can ride faster on the trail bike cause its set up better. But I've seen guys who absolutly haul ass on my trails on a 125 or 250 and I can't even stay with em cause they can handle that type of power. My banshee is set up perfect for trails. It has all the power that I need and can use. I just have bill's pipes, a good low-mid pipe, and I'm geared low,13/41. I never have to feather or use the clutch. All I do it punch the throttle when ever I need power. I can ride fast through my trails in 2nd or 3rd gear usin no more than 1/2 throttle, which is where most of my power is. -
what about on hard pack? I have this dirt drag track that I made, two 300 ft strips that I tilled up with a tiller. Right now, since it aint rained for a while, the dirt is pretty hard packed. I have been using my bald holeshots that I spin up to 3rd gear with and there is some pretty big ruts and it is really hard packed. would the sur trak's just spin on top the hard pack or would they dig in?

damn id love to ride her ,I mean, uhhhhhh her bike -
I'm in the market for some new rear tires and im kinda interested in the maxxis sur tracs. Are these good tires for trails, hill climbs, and dirt drags? How well does the tread hold up and how do they perform when you reverse em'? Do these things catch traction very quicky cause right now I'm geared lower than stock and the bandits that I use spin alot. I am also lookin at the kenda klaws and knarly's. All three of these tires are about the same price at RM atv, I think around $40 -$45. I have two sets of rims that I have tires on right now and need replacing, bandits and bald holeshots- I smell some burnouts comin pretty soon . Would the sur trac's be a good secondary tire for muddy conditions and use the klaws or knarly's for a primary tire?

well his collar bone is broken, he'll be out of riden for a while yea i'd wear a helmet but i dont' really feel like spendin 70+ dollars for one

I got bill's pipes on my banshee. I've not seen many shee's with them. I like them a whole lot. They sound and perform great and you can stand out from the crowd since it's not one of those pipes that everybody else has . I personally think there one of the best sounding pipes there is, and I've heard most of the other banshee pipes out there. When ever someone is ridin my shee, it gives me cold chills to hear that thing rip off in the distance

i could post a video for ya if you wanna here what they sound like, but i dont really know how to post videos

Seat got a little play in it.
trail rider replied to FULL_METAL_JACKT_II's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
dunno if this is the same problem but on my shee the seat had a lil up and down play at the front of it so i stuck a piece of balsa wood under the front thingie and taped it down. whala no more up and down play. just my .02 -
for me 5 gallons of gas goes by pretty quick, 3 or 4 hours of hard ridin and im empty . I've tried cutting my ratio back to 40:1 and only riding alot on the weekends. But I wont be riding much for awhile due to a recent accident on my dirt bike and a broken collar bone

I got bill's pipes on my shee and I think they are a very sweet pipe. They have a very nice ping ping idle, kinda like fmf's and sound bad ass when you rev em. In my opinion, the top end kinda sounds like fmf fatties and toomey t-5's and it really rips . These are the only pipes I have tried so I cant really compare them to anything performance wise. They seem to have pretty good low end. You can lug it around and just punch the throttle and hit the power band. On mine the power usually comes on around between 1/8 and 1/4 throttle. It has a pretty hard hit and the top end pulls really good, but probably not as good as other pipes like drag pipes. I'm geared low ( 13/41 ) so that might have somethin to do with the power dileverly

hey ppls me and my bro was ridin our crf 150s and he was coming down a hill climb and i was flyin up it in 3rd gear and he was on the same side of me and i though he wasin going to go over so i went over to the left and he went too and bam I didn't even have a helmet on but he did. It didnt' do anything to the bikes except twist the forks a little bit. I wasn't hurt just my leg jamed under the back sproket but it hurt his collar bone. lol don' know if its broke or not.just got back up and laughed about it. It was pretty serious cause i was going about 25- 30 mph.

Kicker Rebuild Or Holyman Mod?
trail rider replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I got the rebuild kit from RM atv and after I put it all back together, the damn thing 10 times harder to pull out .For a while untill it broke in, Every time I had to start it I'd have to get off and use both hands to pull that fucker out, and then POP and I'd be down on my ass -
do you want a pic?
