help wit a banshee wit a 500motor?help me
trail rider replied to outlawchico151's topic in General Banshee Discussion
well personally, I wouldn't buy any type of motor or even a whole quad/bike for that matter off of ebay, to easy to get ripped off into buying junk IMO. As for the Kx 500 banshee, I would just buy the thing and leave it how it is, at least fix the motor so it runs good. that way you would have somethin with real power to ride and mess around on for a good price. And if you want a real banshee, why not look for one that already has a 2 stroke twin in it? You can find some really good deals if you search enough, got mine for $2400 and it came with all kinds of aftermarket stuff and I've never had any real problems with it yet -
Have you been talking to mudcool?

me and my bro put the removal kit and idle kit on by ourselves, and we're only 16 wasnt that hard

thanks a bunch man, thats the kinda info i was lookin for. I'd be putin those on a little 2 wheel drive sonoma. I aint really sure on what color to get. my truck is red and i dont know how the red or blue kits would look with it. And if I got the 7 color kit I would be able to try different colors to see what looks the best. I aint to worried about the installation part though, there's lots of room under my truck to run wires and stuff so it wouldn't be too hard so what color would go with red?

Hell yea, a banshee on that course with a good big set of mud tires would be sweet . Roost the hell outta those guys. I'd say a banshee would do pretty good on that type of course, just keep the revs up high around those curves in that loamy shit and you'd be ahead of everybody

Has anyone seen this kinda light kit before? I found it in a LMC truck catalog. its called LED underbody light kit-universal fit for any car or truck. it uses LED type lights which says is brighter and more durable than neon. You can get a single color kit for $139 or a seven color for $239. It says it comes with two 48'' tubes and two 36'' tubes, a control box that lets you switch between the different colors and also different sequential flashing modes. The ends of the tubes plug into each other and to the control box, which plugs into your cigarette lighter. Does this sound pretty good? I've tried looking for other kits and I cant find one that includes all the stuff that this one does, and 239 bucks aint that bad

I watched it friday nite, 8:00 my time here on ESPN1. Pretty good if there's nothing else on, but its not nothing to cry about if you missed it. Its got all those GNC pro racer guys and a couple of GNCC guys, ballance and yokely i think,. It was all yfz 450's out there with a couple hondas and suzukis. It was kinda boring to me with no 250r's or 2 strokes. Are 2 strokes even allowed to race anymore or does nobody use them? The track was kinda made up like a cross country/mx type deal with some good jumps and some slick corners with lots of sliding and it was a pretty sandy course, lotta ruts. I think the other atv event is called terracross or somethin, with utility quads and stuff.

i bought a repair kit from cascade and that mo'fo was tight. i had to put it in a vise and work it several times back and forth to work it loose. several days later it was back to rattlin....screw it

What is your gps speed reading at your fastest?
trail rider replied to mudcool's topic in General Banshee Discussion
79.9......well 80 down a flat road using a gps in my lap and with a rigged up lower a-arm..i was scared i was gonna die -
i figured it out! ya see my bro was workin on it before i got to it, he said that the plug was gettin plenty of spark when he pulled it. but he actually never tried switchin the plugs. i switched them and the right one stoped firing. so it was a fouled plug. lol my dad said the exact thing about the plug not firing under pressure. **1/ Another spark plug (or swap them over) - Even though you checked for spark and saw it, when exposed to the pressure in the cylinder it may not fire if it's faulty.** thx for ya help rare. one more thing, i cleaned the plugs and put them back in and it fired up and ran fine. but when its in the powerband it spudders. is this because of the weak plugs?
-
i switched them, put em back, and tried it... still nothing. done the compression test before i switched them and both read 118psi. also tried spraying starting fluid around the boots and carbs to check for air leaks, nuthing. im out of ideas. the left exhaust is puttin out whiteish/gray smoke every once in a while while poping like its trying to start.
-
well yea thats what i mean, i did switch the plug wires, but nuthing different happend. im going to try switchin the reeds to see if nething happends and report back. thx
-
ok im running 340 mains, 27.5 pilots at about 800ft. and the left cylinder spudders and pops but doesnt run.the cylinder is getting gas, and its gettin spark, i've tried switching the plugs, and still nothing. i just pulled the reeds from both cylinders and they appear normal. any help would be appreaicated. i was also wanting to try switching the reeds to see if those were the problems, but not sure if they would hurt anything. thx

what ratio do you mix your gas
trail rider replied to looking 4 a bike's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
well, that seems pretty new to me, I guess just go with the 32:1 for a while till you get some for time on the motor. -
Do you like the shee for its sudden acceleration r
trail rider replied to mudcool's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I used to haul mine to school at least once or twice a week. Every body would look and stare when I drove through the parkin lot. I think it was just me and another kid that was the only ones that had a banshee at my school. His was all stock though. I love my banshee for its hard hitting instant powerband. I love just puttin around and then just hammerin down on the gas and rippin off down the field gettin sideways. I also like the way it looks, the squared fenders gas tank/radiator and plain front end, just a simple design that looks good. And I think the banshee is one of the most comfortable quads I've ever ridden. Nice cushy seat and relaxed feel when you sit on it -

I tried some kinda belray oil before, not sure if it was H1R though, but I ran it at 40:1 and it does great. is your banshee broke in yet? if it still has very low hours on the motor than you might want to go 32:1. but 40:1 is better, you dont hardly foul plugs as much and you dont use as much oil. -

I run klotz R50 in mine at 40:1. Just one bottle (16 oz) in a 5 gal jug of gas and im all set . I'd say it'd be fine to run it at 42:1 or whatever, as long as your jetting is good, or at least not to lean. -
Rear tires for woods riding?
trail rider replied to 350Xhilaration's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I've been using maxxis sur traks on my banshee for a while and I love em. They're kinda heavy and are 22's but they are a great trail tire. The lugs are really thick and i've used them for about 2 or 3 months now and show very little wear, if any. They are perfect if your riding somewhere where your unsure about what your getting into. They hook really good in loose stuff and good in hardpack and pretty much anytype of trail condition. I've hit a few mudholes with em and I didn't even slow down or spin any. When ever I do hill climbs I love these tires, they hook up the whole way, but since there kinda heavy and dont spin much I keep it a gear lower than usuall. -
What is every bodys riding style?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I guess i'll take back what I said . Dang all that on a bycycle? did you jump off a cliff or something ? well, I guess its just me if I want to take it easy riding my banshee, I ride fast sometimes, but anyway -
well, at 14 it'd be illegal for you to buy a new banshee at a dealer somewhere, but you could probably get a used one without any trouble. And just like STLBILL said, words are hard to describe it. The best thing to do would be to ride one and see if its right for you. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything else.

I love no. 8. That one couldn't be more truer
