I was wondering what dirt bike motors could be put into quad frames without doing any kind of modifications to the motor or the frame? for example I've heard of people putting cr 80 motors in a 400ex frame.

anyone here even know what a kx 100 is???

I was thinking of buying me one cause I think it is an awesome bike. Anybody know anything about this bike? does it have powervalves like the 85 and is there much difference in power between it and a 85cc? How fast will one go with an aftermarket pipe and sliencer? Does the suspension hold up good for jumping and motocross? (by the way if you need to know I'm about 5'6' and 140lbs.)

What about the 85cc's? You said the 125's rev high, so for example will a cr 85 rev higher than a cr 125? Does the 85 require more motor maitenence like topend rebuild and stuff?

Reason I asked was cause I was riding a blaster with no brakes and was trying to slow down with out going through the fence so I down shifted and swerved all over the place, didn't know if it was engine braking or swerving that slowed me down.

does a two stroke have engine braking like a four stroke? Like when your on a four stroke and your coasting down a hill and start going to fast and you down shift to make it slow down.

There was this one time though when I was riding my dirt bike pretty fast (about 50 mph) through the field when I come up to this low spot where all the water drains and settles in the ground. I was only about 10 ft in front of it when I remembered and without thinking I slamed on the front brakes, big mistake . The handle bars jerked and I literaly flew through the air about 15 ft and rolled on the ground. I didn't have a helmet on but I didn't hit my head, but my back took most of the impact. I layed there a couple of minutes cause I was to sore to move. And the funny thing is the bike was just laying over and nothing was wrong with the damn thing.

how well do the fenders keep you clean when you ride through mud? And I dont mean going wide open through a huge mud hole, but like cruzin through a field right after it rains when there is little puddles of mud and water everywhere. Also, can you un-bolt the front fenders like on the older model blasters or do you have to cut them off like a 400ex?

for me, I am always more worried about the machine than myself. when ever I wreck my dirt bike I always jump up and pick it back up to make sure nothing is broken or the handlebars arn't bent and then I start it to make sure it still runs. So far I haven't wrecked my quad cause I always ride responsible and try not to do anything stupid.

I hate it when people who are selling a quad say that its barely been ridden I mean why should you even by a quad if your going to ride it 2 times and park it.

The reason I want a new one is so that after I get tired of riding a stock one, I can put whatever kind of mod on it I want and fix it up how I want it. Probably the first mod it will have will be the 2 into 1 carb cause I have heard alot of good comments about it.

The reason I said mud is because to get to some of the coolest trails and places to ride I have to cross little mud holes and streams and most of my trails turn into mush when it rains, especially on my new trails where the ground isn't packed down yet.

Does anybody know what the last year for the banshee is going to be? The reason is because when I graduate high school in spring of 2005, I am going to find me a decent job and get me a little used truck and then buy me a brand new banshee. I know there will still be banshees after the final production year, but I really want to get a brand new one cause my opinion on used stuff is "your just buying someone else's shit".

I dont think they should make a new race style 450 quad. I think they should make another big bore quad like the raptor or DS 650 and maybe have an all new look instead of copying something else.

The Keasea Skyhawk 250 is a twin cylinder with dual carbs, but its a 4 stroke.

What about a 2 stroke with out a sliencer? This kid at school brought his banshee and during auto mechanics class he took the sliencers off. He said it was loud as hell and sounded cool, but I didn't hear it. Does it hurt or help the power of a 4 stroke to ride with just the head pipe? I do it all the time on my crf 150 and it makes it loud as hell and seems like it revs quicker. when it idles it kinda sounds like this: pap....pap.....plap...paap....plap..pap

anyone ever thought about what a 4 stroke would sound like if you somehow put a 2 stroke expansion chamber on a 4 stroke motor? How would it affect the power? One more thing, could a 400ex have dual exhaust? Cause I mean it has 2 exhaust valves, so why not have dual exhaust?

What is yamaha going to do when they stop making banshees? Are they gonna replace it with an all new quad or just discontinue it. When the day finally comes, I think they should keep the same design and make a new motor to put in it. It would be cool to have maybe a 500cc 4 stroke twin with dual carbs and duel exhaust (kinda like the Keasa skyhawk 250, except no dual exhaust).

It is definatly his fault. One thing you should always do when you go riding with friends on the trails is tell each other how and where you plan on riding. Same kind of accident happened to my brother. My cousin was up in front on the trails on a raptor, my little bro was in behind him on his crf-150 and I was in last on my ttr-125. Since my bro never really rides much with other people, he was getting a little excited and speeding, trying to stay close to the raptor. When the raptor slowed down fast, my bro paniced and hit the front brakes too hard. He ended up fliping and breaking the clutch lever all the way off. He had to ride about 2 miles back to the house in 1st gear
