  1. Stock compression at sea level is about 120 to 125. As you go up in elevation, subtract some off of that.
  2. That's some funny shit!!
  3. How 'bout that pink banshee in the ebay auctions not too long ago.
  4. Yeah, stock at 1,000 should be around 120. Watch it and keep riding it, she goes any lower than 100 or 95, then top end time, unless you have some off time this winter and just wanna go ahead and do it, no prob there.
  5. After you get done with trying them, I'll buy the PT mids from you, as I'm sure you'll like the T-5s better.
  6. Honestly, you can do anything on a Banshee you can do on a ex, or a Z, the only difference is you have to plan ahead or pick your mods cautiously and after researching them. If you just go out and throw the first set of pipes, or ones you like because of the name, then you might be working against your overall riding style. For instance, you trail ride, but like the sound of the CPIs, well it's not gonna be as fun to trail with a set of CPIs as compared to a set of Fatties. Just plan ahead how you intend to ride it, and it's okay to say everything, just be sure to do mods that help "everything", like Fatty pipes enhance the overall powerband, not just low or high rpms. Reliability is the same as any other, they don't need a lot of maintenance, but with a little (same as any machine, oil, clean, grease, inspect) it'll last a long long time, just make sure your jetting is right after mods (which is also the same with any machine). If your buying used, be extra cautious to buy one that hasn't been dogged and not maintained or you could be asking for trouble, this is also true with all machines. There's nothing worse than to buy someone else's problem and we've all done it. Mine's an '02 and has been ridden pretty hard, cleaned pretty well, and correctly maintained. I can go out at any given time, kick it once or twice and count on it to do whatever I ask with ZERO problems, and it has for well over a year and a half without one stutter. I may have fouled one plug in all that time. I just raced a cross country race this weekend with my banshee (which is "typically" not it's field of expertise) and I have a lot of mods that promote the low and mid ranges and my lap times were all within range of the others, so the banshee can do it all if you just choose wisely.
  7. One thing that scares me is if Bush gets another 4, then Hillary will be waiting patiently to add her name to that next ballot. I don't realistically think she'd ever win enough votes to make, too many sexist men out there, but if a woman ever had a chance, it'd be her, and I don't personally mean that in a sexist way, I mean that in a "I don't like that phony bitch" way.
  8. My quad with 22cc's is 125 even on both cylinders. I've seen worse, but what I don't like is the 10lb. difference. If they were both 115, I'd say you'll probably be wanting a top end soon, but you can wait until they're closer to 100. If there is that much difference, you might go ahead and do a top end kit.
  9. Oh, I thought you were a "backdoor" kind of guy...
  10. parking brake connections? bad reed(s)? air leak? crossover tube not on right or at all? bad gas? bad mood? and of course, bad jetting? have you looked at the plugs after it does this and stalls to see if they're oily nasty black or not?
  11. magicracing.com rockymountainatv.com
  12. Yeah, I like the feather, personally.
  13. I don't know, but talk to tats4life, he's a tattoo guru, no shit!
  14. Damn, that's too bad. I was hopin to pick it up from ya!
  15. Same here, 84 or 85 I think, though we had already broken into the tap long before our ceremony started. Just the way we were...
  16. Anyone ever buy anything from ATV Addiction? How were they to deal with?
  17. uuuuhhh.. never mind...
  18. Damn, I thought this thread was about Crank, Speed, you know, good stuf!!
  19. Here's a good original one: "Keep it Real" or you could follow the Red Hot Chili Pepper's lead: "Suck my Kiss"
  20. herd dat!
  21. unless the plug's fouled.
  22. I would most definitely go broke if I had two. Hell, I can barely afford the one, but it sure as hell would be fun to have two, especially if you race and beat the hell out of one then you'll have one to use when your not working on the other like nater said.
  23. Yeah, I'd think you could use more than a 280. When in doubt, go richer, and the only way to really "know" your machine is by listening, feeling and using your instincts. If you think you could at least, use 340 mains, then by all means try it. It sounds like a reasonable place to start to me. If it fouls a plug, then back off to 330 and so on. It might run really good with that main in it, and be sure to read your plugs afterwards, by running a WOT plug test. Personally, I'd go to a 340 right now, before I rode again.
