  1. the springs that pull the piston back down after the compression stroke. you can also up grade these and get higher tension ones. DUNEDEMON could probably give you a good idea as to what spring rates you'd need based on your mods.
  2. Thanks for the heads up Walt. I'll take a look at some Gibsons.
  3. Nice man. Looks good.
  4. Yeah, that's what I was wondering. How big of an advantage the Dyna was over a timing plate. I know this was asked but does anyone know how advanced the timing is say at 8,000 rpm with the Dyna compared to stock ignition?
  5. Looks like that's not a bad deal. They'd probably work for you. If you did get them and decided the springs were just a bit stiff, you could always replace the main spring with a slightly softer spring and they'd work perfect, as long as they're in the condition he says they're in. DUNEDEMON here on the BHQ can usually help you with springs also, if you need it.
  6. the 700 will freaking fly if you mod the clutch with some other clutch springs. bone stock or even with pipes, the clutch won't put the power out there, but if you change the springs some, then it will hook up and scream, no shit. think about it 700cc's. That's a big freaking motor. I'd buy that if I were to buy an auto, bar none. I want one right now, but only one sport quad she says.
  7. Very nice. Good thought on that and it says a lot but not too much...
  8. What do you guys think of these ASRs with the lifetime warranty?? I think they'd look better with my LSR arms.
  9. Hmmm, notice a lot of difference between the Dyna and a plate? I've had a hard time convincing myself that the $$$ is worth it for the Dyna when I can just set mine to +5 or so, but it sounds like it's a pretty noticeable difference.
  10. You know it man, next thing you see, is her pics all over the place.
  11. 2 collapsed lungs and 4 broken ribs. Not as bad as it could've been, but I didn't go straight to the hospital. Thankfully, one lung slowly started to reinflate. If that wouldn't have happened, the dr. said I would have suffocated / drowned from lung fluid in about an hour and a half. It took me 3 hours just to get to the first hospital, I was there for an hour and a half then they ambulanced me 2 or so hours away to another hospital before I really ever received any treatment. Thing is, we didn't know I had two collapsed lungs until I got home and made it to a follow-up at my local doc. He could see it in the xrays and talked to the surgeon doc from the hospital and they said there was no reason to tell me because it was done and they didn't want to scare me more. So I was REALLY lucky. Here's a link to the full story.
  12. So where's those pictures, Led?? Don't be dissappointing us. Regular joe-blows get 'em but your boys here at BHQ get shafted.
  13. No FU^@ING shit man. My favorite phrase is "keeping assault rifle out of the hands of kids". How many god damned guns commited in street crimes are from guns legally purchased by the person comitting the crime?? I'd also like to see an accurate statistic of out of ALL the crimes with weapons, how many are legally purchased assault rifles. FU^@KING BULLSHIT!!
  14. Hey there Walt, how's it goin?? How's the Suburban workin out? Yeah, the arms are nice. The stabilizer is equally nice, although the race this weekend was so unbelievably rough that I don't think anything would've helped, maybe a $500 GPR stabilizer, but hey... No, it really works well, in fact, being the race was so rough and pounding, I didn't get any arm pump, and my forearms are just a tad sore, but I'm sure it would have been ten times worse without it.
  15. Forget the kid...
  16. Yeah, I've got about -3.5 degrees of camber and 4 degrees of positive caster. She feels really good, doesn't hook into a turn excessively like it was doing. Seems to handle high speed a lot better. It's awesome. Only, the race I was in over the weekend was REALLY REALLY narrow and I'd have to say I slapped some trees a little, and busted a tie rod. Whatcha gonna do? It feels very nice. I just need to dial my suspension in a little better. I'll be working on that this week.
  17. Yeah, I was thinking of just ordering all new tie rods and ends, like the Tusks.
  18. I know this has been discussed. I'd probably tell someone else posting this to search, but as you all know, I'm special. I'm running Lonestars tie rods and I sheared a tie rod end this weekend at the XC race. I want something stronger. The LSRs take a stock rod end, so the Tusk should fit right in as well, correct? Any experience with strength, any alternatives? BTW, I did search, but not much there.
  19. Exactly what I want to do!! I'd kill for a nice dualsport and an XR is where I'd wanna be.
  20. How much for the motor... WAIT WAIT. I need a bumper, how much for it? Is it AC??
  21. The Dynojet needle is simply a Blaster needle. Some run them and don't have trouble, but I've seen a lot that have trouble dialing them in, and I think they hinder midrange performance with Toomey pipes. Take it as you will.
  22. My corrected compression ratio is 9.45 to 1 at 192lbs. This is just proof that compression and compression ratio's are two different animals. And that's at 700ft above sea level. On paper that would mean my compression ratio would yield 16lbs higher at sea level. I got this info from a good builder. Don't ask me how. lol Wha?? 9.45:1 at 192 lbs.? That'd kill my crank in about fifteen minutes.
