  1. Depends on how much power you have. If you have enough to pull it then you'll be fine, if not, then you'll be clutching excessively. I have enough for a 15/41 but not enough for a 16/41 in the sand, and would then be burning my clutch up.
  2. This is as pimp as pimp can be!!
  3. Damn, Led. Sorry to hear, I'd love for the wifey to get one, but she says "they're too small". One day I WILL GET an old Waggoneer with the wood looking sides in good condition. I'll lift it some and put some 33's on it and then go pimpin around. My dad had one when I was younger and I remember how awesome it was, and you don't see them too much nowadays.
  4. Well, you say it's straight but there's obviously something wrong. You should NOT go through chains like that. First place I'd like is in the carrier bearings or swingarm bearings. I have a feeling that something there is loose and causes your axle and/or swingarm to move side to side. It doesn't take much for it to start snapping chains. That's assuming your adjusting the chain properly.
  5. yea, stock axles suck, but with 33's and a 2.5, I don't really have that problem. I could run 35's now, but they'd be a little close, but some trimming and new flares and they'd work. I wanted to get rid of the stock suspension so I went that route. I'll do a spring-over later. With 3.5" springs and then a spring-over, I'll be where I want, just one step at a time. I have no need for that much right now.
  6. Never heard of it, be interested to learn more.
  7. Maybe a blue flag with the white Yamaha Fork logo on it would be easy identifiable.
  8. I got number plates from Duncan racing. Two medium sized for the rear fenders and one larger one for the front. I'm going to attach it to hard plastic and tie it to my DG bumper. You can see the two plates on the fenders. I'll get my numbers put on this week.
  9. When you guys say it flies/rips, where is the added power, more low and mid or mostly top? I'm interested in a 420 kit, but I'm wanting to boost torque.
  10. maybe a relay blew or a short occured.
  11. Very nice bro!! Two thumbs up.
  12. your gonna have to get a manual for it or something. changing cams isn't something that we can just tell you real quick; it's a step-by-step process that has to be done right and varies with every machine. your gonna need some special tools also to get it timed just right. best to call the honda shop for a manual and/or the cam manufacturer for an instruction sheet.
  13. Stock axles.
  14. Your life's over as you know it!! Welcome and have fun.
  15. Cannondales are the uglies pieces of shit I've ever seen before. Why someone would ride one beats me.
  16. I'm gonna want 35's down the road and when I was doing my shit, I didn't think I'd like the 4.56's with 35's so I went ahead with 4.88s. I got my shackles and stuff from Mountain Off Road ) MORE, they have other stuff and they're great to deal with.
  17. Shit, i haven't been to "my" jeep forums in so long, can't remember. Those 8.8's are pretty good axles and plenty beefy for 35's. Oh yeah, Jeeps-Offroad.com There's loads. Jeepsunilimited.com, Pirate4x4.com, jeepin.com. I tend to like the linked one best for just asking questions and talkin to others. I'd say go for the header, sounds like you can benefit from the added flow. I have a '90 2.5. Yep, there is a downside to my jeep, but I actually wanted the I4 as not to overpower my drivetrain. In my jeep, I don't believe more power is better. I run 4.88s and have plenty of low grunt, more than I really need. However, I'd like some intake mods, but the 4.0 TBI will only fit 91 and up, my 90 has a different bolt setup. So, I'm furked!! Like you, my Jeep has kinda been on the backburner. I still use it a lot, but I don't drag it to the trails like I used to, seem to be draggin the banshee more often. One thing about it though, you can hop in it and get looks from everyone in town. Jeeps are definitely head turners.
  18. Now, that's funny right there.
  19. uuuuuh.... No. 4" of complete suspension (shocks, 3.5" springs, .5" shackles). I had to get .5" shackles because std. length shackles will rub on the military wrap springs, and they're close with the .5" length. I hate lifted Jeeps with big long ass shackles, and it's so unsafe, and I also don't like body lifts for my personal preference. I hated to have to use .5", I'd rather have that in the spring, but oh well. Only thing that's stock on the suspension is the tie rod, drag link and front sway-bar. Got a new "telescoping" trac bar that works really well. I pulled the rear trac bar and rear sway bar (don't even know why they have them ), rides better without them. Also, the tires are 33".
  20. takes a few minutes for the powerbands to stretch and get tension. i don't know what we're talking about, banshees.. boost.. wastegates and banshees, I'm confused, sounds like we're talking about my truck.
  21. get her something that you enjoy riding, without a doubt. a z400 would be a great bike for her and very fun to ride.
  22. The steering stabilizer I have is a standard Denton style. I got it from Dave at Noss Machine. I also got my brake line clamps from Noss Machine. I'm sure Galfer makes lines for you '87. The website is www.galferusa.com, but it is under construction. There's a phone number and they're good to deal with. John19, definitely let Elka rebuild the rear. It's loads cheaper and is a good setup. Here's a pic or so, but one didn't have the lines on at the time. In the two pics, the brake lines are the blue line running from the master and down behind the a-arms. I shoulda got clear, not blue, I thought the blue would be darker.
  23. They're Mickey Thompson Baja MTX tires. They're better in the mud than a typical all-terrain, but not quite as good as a mud-terrain, but they're better on the highway, loose rock and hardpack than a mud-terrain. I really like t hem. Fro, I'd rather have a cherokee than my YJ. I love my YJ but the cherokee is just plain awesome, light, 4-dr, and lots of room. They have a tent cover that encloses the rear hatch for camping and stuff. I want one, and I'll get one someday.
  24. glad you like it, I've been working on that site for years... but your the first one to give feedback...
