When I polished my exhaust port, I also cleaned up the intake side a little. I definately felt a difference, but since I did both at the same time, I can't be sure which one did the most good. If I were you, I would polish it a little more. 2000 grit probably got it really smooth, but you should get a felt tip and use some polishing compound to make a mirror finish. The felt tips are available from Eastwood. If you don't want to order the felt tips, then you can wrap a piece of cotton terry cloth around a sanding drum and apply the polishing compound to the cotton cloth. But if you wear through the cotton and let the sanding drum touch the wall, then you are back to square one.

I had the same question when installing mine. You'd think they would provide instructions.

I apologize NYUK. I screwed up. I was just trying to be a nice guy and help out a fellow HQer, but I didn't think it through. I should have given you at least a day or two to respond before I considered anyone else. I didn't take the highest bidder or ask for more money. I just responded to a PM that I should have ignored. I am truly sorry NYUK, I wish I never would have made the offer, then you will still be in the same situation, as far and needed pipes, but you wouldn't be pissed at me.
-
Well damn. Every other time DG pipes are mentioned, all I hear is they suck...bla...bla.... Now my PM inbox is full. Sorry NYUK, but I have to go with the first responder. Actually the second. I got a reply two minutes after I posted this from Australia. I figured out how much shipping would be, and informed him that the pipes aren't worth $300. Anyway, I had another PM about 10 minutes later. Sorry again NYUK but it sounds like you have a lot of other options.

If you need help getting there, then send me an email.

I have a set of DGs that I'll give you, if you pay for shipping.

My new PT mids arrived today. I purchased the 'factory finish' instead of chrome, which basically means that they do not have any finish what so ever. So, should I.... 1. Paint them with high temp paint (and repeat this process every few months) 2. Try to clean them regularly and apply WD-40 to keep the rust to a minimum or 3. ?????

Congratulations.

I've done it over a small pond, about 40-50 feet across. I barely made it in third, if the pond would have been any wider, I would have gotten really wet. Fourth gear was much better suited for it. You have to keep your weight back and commit, this isn't something that you can half-ass. I was using RAZR tires, not paddles, but I had trouble keeping straight. I don't know if paddles would have helped this or not. Just make sure that there is a smooth transition into and out of the water.

I think my wife and I are going to be there.

Nah, that is clean compared to how it usually comes home.

I had to take three complete links out when I installed mine. Some people need to remove four. So you should double check before you start cutting it apart. First separate the chain so that it is no longer a loop. Then set the rear axle in the middle of its adjustment and lay one end of the chain on the rear sprocket. With the chain looped around the front sprocket see how much the second end of the chain overlaps the first end. This is how much you'll need to remove.

Boonman, I still don't know what the deal is with Imagestation. I could see your pic at work, but now I can't. Hopefully this will show up.

Sorry I didn't get to meet up with you. I accidentally deleted the PM that you sent me and I couldn't remember your userid. Stupid me. That sucks that you got hurt. That place is very hard on people, I have seen too many riders taken out of there in ambulances. There are so many misplaced boulders, steep drop offs, washed out trails, and other riders that you always have to be alert. They need to park a 4x4 ambulance out there on the busy weekends. The truck in my Avatar hasn't been driven in months. I am in the middle of putting a 460 in it. Since I can't work on it in my garage and I don't use it as a daily driver anymore I haven't been in a hurry to get it running. I think that there used to be an HQ tradition of putting duct tape on the flag pole. Can anybody confirm this? A clear indication of other HQ members would have been very helpful this weekend.

I didn't need to add any. Yes, but just a little. I can post a picture it you want.

They are completely different, you will not be able to fit the Warrior A-arm on your Banshee w/out the aid of a torch and welder.

I comtacted him last week about swingarm bearings. He mentioned that he is away from home and does not have access to email, only PMs. So if you need something fast, you should probably look for an alternative source.
-
It replaces all of the stock rollers. The only things that your chain will touch are the sprockets, amplink, and chain guide that is mounted on the swingarm.

Spoin, sorry but we didn't get there until after 11:00. One of the guys that we were meeting with was already parked up top. I saw your truck there, but everytime that I went by, you weren't there. On our last run of the day we went through the bottoms on the ESE part of the property, near the campground. I could tell that you had been there, tearing it up on the hills. It looked like a good day for hill climbing. Too bad I missed you guys. By the way, where did all of the snow come from, wasn't it 60 yesterday?

I cut my stock pegs apart and rewelded them 2" back and slightly lower. I like the feel of the Banshee better. I find myself sitting farther back on the seat and when I stand upm it puts more weight on the rear tires, both of which help in the traction department. But if I had to do it over, I would just buy a set of Blaster pegs and save myself the trouble of cutting and welding the pegs. Either way you will have to shorten the shifter and brake lever.
-
I agree, you'll beat him no problem. I raced one last weekend. I was having a hell of a time getting off of the line. He would usually get 1-2 bike lengths on me in the first 20 feet, but I'd finally get some traction, catch up, and pass him in 50-75 yards.
-
I heard that!!!

I hope everything works out alright. Most cops tend to blame accidents on young drivers. The cops assume that they are inexperienced or were driving too fast. If the old fart does die, at least he can't sue you.

Damn Wallrat, you need to start wearing your helmet at work.
