  1. I just got back from Roostfest and it seemed like half of the guys there had the camper/garage type trailers, where the front half is a regular camper and the rear half is 'garage' space for hauling four wheelers. I am definately going to look into getting one of these. It would make extended riding trips so much easier. Just my $0.02.
  2. We made it back yesterday morning at 9:30 after driving all night. I was supposed to be at work at 8:00. So we unloaded real quick, I took a shower, and headed in. I only lasted four hours at work before I went home to bed. In the 64 hours that we were on the road, the only carnage that we had was one truck headlight, the trailer wiring harness, and one trailer tire explosion. I'm already trying to figure out how to go next year. There has got to be an easier way, the drive sucked big time, but it was totally worth it.
  3. Isn't that Memorial Day weekend? I don't really care which weekend we go, but to keep this moving, I'll throw out another date. How about May 15-16?
  4. Well, we are back in. After a day and a half of BS, the management figured out that they were screwing too many people and had to back down from their policy. I want to leave tonight so that they don't have time to change their minds again. See you guys, in the sand.
  5. If they tell me I can't go, then it would probably be my job. Which up until now, I thought wasn't worth risking, but I am starting to come around . I am even more pissed that I went home from work today and still didn't know what's going on. I can get over it, the sand will always be there, but I have two friends that are relying on me to get their quads to Cali and they are using the majority of their vacation time for the entire year on this trip.
  6. Happy B-day Joe.
  7. Man am I pissed. They just made the following announcement at work: "...employee vacations scheduled to occur after March 1 should be delayed until further notice..." They are preparing for the union to strike and want all non-union employees to report to work to cover if there is a strike. WTF, why would they wait to announce this two business days before the end of the month. If they had made the announcement a month or so ago, I would have understood, but two days !!! We planned on leaving March 2, now I don't know. I called my supervisor the minute that I read this. He didn't know that this announcement was coming. We are working with HR to straighten this out. What a shltty thing for the company to do. I envy you guys that are self-employed.

    Sand Tire

I agree, they seem to be a good tire for the price. I bought my wife a set of ITP Sand Stars. I plan to try each set while in Dumont for Roostfest and compare them in the Product Review section after we get back.
  9. Are you confussed yet? ...go up a tooth on the front sprocket....go down a tooth on the front sprocket....keep the stock gearing....... ...get brand X pipes....get brand Y pipes....... ...get larger dual carbs....get a single carb....don't get a single carb..... My point is that everyone has there own opinion. Don't go and drop a bunch of money until you do more research. Front sprockets are cheap. Try different ones and see what fits your riding style better. All aftermarket pipes make an improvement to the power, but where do you want the power? You should ride it, get used to it, and then figure out what you want improved. Try to ride as many different set ups as you can before spending your cash. Remember that in the same way people put down your purchase of a Banshee, people will put down aftermarket parts and brands even though they have never tried the part/quad for themselves. IMHO the most important mods for trail riding is to replace the rear tires and get an aftermarket 'clamp-on' air filter set up.

    Sand Tire

I bought a set of the "turbo paddles" from Jim's Sand Toys based on previous recommendations from Led. I haven't tried them yet in sand, I need to wait one more week for that. But they hook up pretty well in snow. The paddles seem to be reinforced well. But I did have a couple of problems with them. They did not include caps on the valve stems and one of the tires went flat after a couple of days due to a leak on the bead. These are minor problems, but they shouldn't have happened.
  11. After seeing those pictures, I'm not going to get anything done at work today.
  12. How much do you want for it?
  13. Does anyone going to Roostfest have a stock rear grab bar that you want to sell for cheap? It must be in good condition.
  14. I was actually surprised. There were a few slams on ATVs, but the focus of the story was on the Osbornes. Now if I can only figure out how to get to 150 mph.
  15. Are you guys watching this? I didn't know a stock Banshee could go 150 mph!!!!
  16. bump
  17. Let's hope so. But even if he does, no one will be able to understand it anyway.
  18. Thats good to know that they don't really care. But I already have my stock silencers on just in case. I have had my run-ins with Conservation Officers in the past and I want to avoid them while I'm 2000 miles from home. One time we got lectured for 20 minutes because we mowed our campsite . Man, I can't wait to get to the dunes.
  19. I am running out of room in my Garage and want to stand up our four wheelers on the rear grab bar to save space. I plan to empty the carbs and remove the battery from my wife's Warrior. Is there anything else that I should do? Will it hurt anything?
  20. I think that there are actually three ATV television shows on right now. The two you mentioned and Atv Magizine Television that hotrod made it on. btw congrats. Fishers and ATV television are the only ones that I watch since they actually include some sport riding. I can't stand to listen to Dougs monotone talking while they rock crawl with utility quads.
  21. You won't be disappointed. They will include washers with the swingarm to use as spacers between the skid plate and swingarm. Yamaha doesn't hold the skid plate mounting dimensions to very tight tolerances so the spacers may be necessary. Use them if you need. Do not simply tighten the bolts down to close the gap. This will pre-stress the skidplate and bolts which will make it weaker.
  22. Sounds like a nice truck, but I am confused. Why are you selling it? 1. to pay for my ol' ladys car that I hit a deer 2. trade for another ATV or 3. its a gas hog
  23. Haspin will be packed on Memorial Day weekend, which means lot of people to race at the drag strip . But it also means we won't get much sleep, since people (possibly us ) will be running all night. If everybody can't make it this weekend, I vote for another. The last part of June will be bad for me, since we will be taking our anual trip to The Land Between the Lakes.
  24. How do I vote if I ride Dirt Trials through the Woods ?
  25. That had to hurt. You don't need to stop running '6th through construction sites', just pre-ride the area first.
