The real issue here is, the Democrats are going to be caught on the wrong side of history AGAIN. The dems don't want Pres. Bush to get the credit for putting middeeast democracy into place. You will all see in time.... 1. Iraq will get sorted out. It will take a generation, but as soon as the kids start getting playstations, bmx bikes, real soccer balls, decent schools, a taste of the western life...... they will tell those extremeists to take a hike. 2. Oil prices will fall through the floor. The current oil crisis will make it possible for other sources of oil to be brought to market. Whoever is elected pres. of the USA will have to support oil exploration and the opening of new refinerys. The Pres, along with all other elected officials will either support lower oil prices or be voted out. Opec will see that they have screwed themselves by encouraging competition through the good ole' law of S&D. They will cut their prices to sell oil.....their only export. 3.Other mideast countries citizens will want the freedoms that Iraq will gain. This is the reason that the Muslim world is fighting so hard. If they loose Iraq, they loose everything. Country by country, Democracy will spread, the people will finally start to see that their leaders were their jailers. It is a beautiful thing. We need a Pres. that will stay the course, because there is bound to be rough times when it will be easy to give up and pull the troops out, but then we will be faced with the same old crap we have seen for the last 2500 years. We have a chance to break the cycle and bring civility to the middle east. Our children have the chance to be able to visit the old world without fearing for their lives. BUSH WILL GIVE US THIS CHANCE. As far as Haliburton, would you put a person who couldn't speak english in charge of the English Department at an Elementary school? Cotton eyed Joe Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 first, to meat, i think we had good reason to go to war with iraq. he was a horrible dictator who kills hundreds of thousands of his own people and he was canoodling with terrorists....and on the al-qaida link, one of the big al-qaida guys was brought into baghdad to get treated for injuries he sustained on the killing fields of afghanistan, good ol sadaam made sure he got the best treatment available and to blue deuce, you hit the nail on the head my friend. diversify. that was my goal from day 1, always something to fall back on. i studied behavioral science in college, this major has a wide variety of options as far as jobs go, you can enter the research field (minored in mathmatics for that purpose), you can go into the treatment field (focused study on chemical dependancy/addiction) you could train for the FBI to be a profiler(that would be cool but i hear they ask if youve ever done drugs, lie detector, damn my wild youth), and my current application...the advertising/marketing field. i am currently getting my web development certification, and next will be getting my business marketing certification, all the while learning as many software programs as humanly possible to stay on top of everything and be an almost self-sustaining entity in my business til i get well on my feet. i can take an almost domino like fall and have several safety nets in place. you gotta look out for yourself, no one else will. you shouldnt expect the government to be there to catch you if you fall. Brooke, an interesting fact about the FBI. I know of atleast 5 people that have applied personally. We have an FBI office here in Ogden as a matter of fact, and can you guess what one of their preferred "requirements" is as far as background? Accounting. They want that particular type of thinker. I thought that was interesting. And yes, they do the lie detector thing, and ask about your history with drugs and or alchohol. It has to be X amount of years since your last use on the drugs, and they don't want you if you are an alchoholic. Quote

This should not domiate the campains though. Both candidates need to tell HOW they plan to do the things they promise. Eg, Kerry's health care plan...is he gonna tax me some more to pay for to pay for other's health insurance? (I already pay over 100,000 in state, fed , FICA, etc per year, and I'm only 25.) I didn't read all of the previous 13 pages..I'm sure some of these points have already been addressed. Just can't express how much a democrat should NOT be president; especially Kerry. Quote
