Losing my leg, opinions wanted

Is it not aggressively spreading? Or did they just miss/overlook that portion in your femur on the last visit? I have seen people that went straight into surgery the same day after a diagnosis is why I ask about them waiting, looking back at my last post it seems blunt so my apologies

They fucked up alright. At first they only checked my knee which was the obvious pls e because it had grown twice the size. Now they're going up and down the leg looking for more. The main problem is the Xmas season and my doctors are off until the 4th. That's why I put myself into emergency yesterday, so Romeo e would be forced to look at it.

fuck all of that, you should be speaking with a lawyer about your doctors new negligence based medical malpractice case because they missed this much. You should be seeking other professional opinions like yesterday, i would be so livid if they just 'overlooked' something like that. i work with physicians for a living and from that personal experience dealing with them I will never trust another doctors opinion again. They are all just guessing, no more gifted or special than you and me. These guys fuck up enough that you should try to find a second (and third) opinion if you can. Theres good physicians out there but seriously waiting on one to get back from vacation almost 2 weeks from now would have me fuming!

dont mean to rant, you seem way more calm about this than i would be! But then again you do have 5 kids so you probably have nerves of steel by now lol

You're dealing with the Canadian health care system right?

I had a near fatal experience in 2011 that landed me in the hospital for a little bit.

It was stunning to me that none of the doctors consistently gave out the same care recommendations or orders. Each individual was consistent in their methods, but it varied from one to doc to another.

After that experience I figured I should change the name of my business to "Practicing Landscaping and Excavation" and that I should start charging double fair market pricing.

JasonB is right thought, seek other opinions ASAP.

I could never afford going to a specialist in the states, I would be at the Mayo clinic in a heartbeat if I could. The fact that the biopsy came back stage 2 chondrosarcoma and is still growing leaves no options but amputation. There has been negligence IMO and I will look at options.

I have been thinking of how in the hell could I ride anything let alone a banshee if I have no leg from the ass down.

I have a buddy that rides with a fake leg, he doesn't ride Banshee's much anymore, he sold his bike several years ago. He's owned Banshee's since the early 90's. He's had a fake leg since childhood though, I guess maybe he had more time to get used to it.

Get rid of the bike, and do it asap. Spend as much quality time with your family. Someone I know had the same ordeal as you, he had the amputation around the knee but unfortunately after being in the clear it returned a year later and he was diagnosed terminal. He passed last month at 33 years old leaving a wife and two children 5 and 1.

I'm really not trying to put a downer on you but I'd be thinking worse case scenario for your families sake, hopefully the doctors get it right first time and don't fuck you about. All the best.

Hey guys, this site is keeping me motivated!

only spent 3 days in the hospital. I have an above the knee amputation and the doctor says it will take 95% more effort to walk. In four more weeks my stump will be healed enough to start being fitted for a prosthetic. They say it will be a long road but I'm game.

I will get one free mechanical leg from the government and I am hoping my Union will put a large portion towards my bionic leg which will be 100K!

I figure with a locked foot I can raise my leg and that will be able to change gears on the bike. If that don't work I will look at figuring an electric shift set up.
