kawa110 Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 What do most people do with there rear suspension when they do long travel front arms? Just a upgraded stock length shock? I'm not trying to be a smart a$$. It's a legit ? For me. What is ddq running on his rear? He has long travel front also? Quote
LaegerEliminator Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 The only idiot in this thread is the one casting insults. Same guy who let a broken collar bone drive enough fear into him to completely alter his riding style... Quote

Any of the aftermarket rear shocks are more than adequate for a Banshee rider, regardless of skill level. I have used Elka Stage 2 and 5 and now Fox Podium. I prefer the Fox over the Elka. They typically run $900+ for a rear shock that's going to get you more adjustment than you will ever use. Not one person on this website will ever benefit from or notice an extra 1.5" of travel in the rear end. Save the money and put it in a really nice front end package. Quote
Sheedawg28 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Report Posted January 30, 2017 Sure does, there's no other reason why the Pro's run what they do or anyone fast for that matter, It's a shame your skill level isn't up to par to notice the difference :-) Quote

Sheedawg28 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Report Posted January 30, 2017 Doesn't matter the bike you ride, any will benefit from added travel. Sometimes I think I'm talking to a 10 year old haha, anyways this is where I stop making you look dumb for today..lataaa! Quote

locogato11283 Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 Fact is, no one on BansheeHQ will notice the extra 1.5" for the money. If it was $500 total, then sure. Run a regular rear shock and have $1,000 to put elsewhere. No one on BansheeHQ is hardcore MX. No one. Quote
kawa110 Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 So most with long travel front ends are running stock length rear shock? How long of a rear shock could one run on a stock style linkage? Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 So most with long travel front ends are running stock length rear shock? How long of a rear shock could one run on a stock style linkage? Yes. A very small percentage are using the Elka link and shock. OEM rear is 14.5" I believe. Quote
LaegerEliminator Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 Something that has been overlooked here: Not only does the linkage increase wheel travel, it also improves shock leverage ratios and action for improved feel and performance. 2 Quote
