I have the stock 14tooth front sprocket on now. I want to get a 15 or 16 tooth for the front. Does anyone have this done or have any suggestions for me? Will it take that much away from my bottom end power? I would just like to be able to get a little more speed on top end and be able to wined each gear out a little more. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks guys.

It will be fine depending on mods. You will need some serious power on top end to pull 15/41 in 6th. I had a nice port job, cpi's etc and on my field road where i usually ride, i couldnt pull 6th as good as i wanted. On the bright side, 5th will be pretty fast. I wouldnt go with a 16t at all unless you are playing around on ashpalt. I wouldnt recommend a 15 unless you are ported but sprockets are cheap and it takes like 20 min to set it up. If you dont like it, you didnt loose but $10 if that.

You can look on a banshee speed calculator to see how much mph in theory u can achieve. That's kinda what i used since i went with a 1-5 overide. I lost 6th gear :(

OK sounds good. Thanks for the advice. I think i will go with the 15 to start with. Dont have that many mods. Just bored .40 over, boost bottle, reed spacers, and fmf gold serise pipes and silencers, oh and +4 timing key.

go with the 16 if you want top end, i run the 16/41 and it pulls great in every gear, and still rips 2nd gear donuts on pavement, and by lookin at your mods your bike has more power than mine so youll be fine

x2 on the 16/41... but i run 300' drags so your needs will be different than mine

I had 15/41 gearing on my bone stock banshee and it pulled harder than stock gearing all the way to 6th tapped, it topped out at 82mph (75mph stock gearing). The engine was allowed to stay in the power band a little longer with the wider gearing, the stock gearing seems slightly too low. I think 16 tooth would be a little too much for a stock banshee with bolt on upgrades though.

IMO stock gearing is way too short. First gear is almost useless. I've been running 15/41 on my bike way back when all I had was pipes and reeds. My wife even runs +1 on the crank on her Blaster with just pipes.

I mean pipe. lol.

I know old post. But yeah i run 15/41 in my stock banshee with fmf full pipes and 20" rears. Cause stock 14/41 i did 115kmh max way to short of gears. Now it pull way harder feels like a different bike. I can ride in 4th now usual i was 6th always. My blaster i bought stock chain kit but for now it had 22" tyres but my other blaster has 20" rears (but 20/10/8 they are higher then the banshee 20" on 9" rims) but yeha my other blaster with same sprocket is to short geared. So switching to 14 on blaster also. Or throw on 22" rims. But stock with 20" on blaster or banshee is to short even on my raptor 350 13 teeth was to short i had to run 14 teeth and 22' tyres (20/11/9 kenda who are about 22'' high for some reason)  but am so glad i finally put 15 on the banshee man wayy better
