  1. Definately get a K&N and either cut the end of the air box lid off (1.5") or remove it totally if you don't ride in mud. Your restricting too much. Then move the needles to the 4th clip FROM the blunt end. If the shee starts great, then keep your current pilot for now. Do a plug test and go from there or post a pic of the plugs after the run.

  4. Redlined, sounds to me that you had a plugged main jet and was running out of fuel at high rpms on that one side. Once the aluminum on the piston started to melt and fly around, then a piece hit the porcelain..No way a little piece would have done that much damage. Possible, but not that much dinging....Most of the time the piece will hit once or a few times then exit the exhaust or stick to the piston. Yours looks like multiple pieces, then bound the piston and broke the side off...of course, this is just speculation, but I'd make sure your carbs are clean and do a leakdown test when you put it back together.. better to be safe, then sorry.
  5. Depends on porting, elevation, temp., and different carbs. I ran 162 mains in the pwk carbs, but run a 175 in the pj carbs...
  6. I had 2 chips on my Duramax when I went out to Dumont and got 12-13mph pulling a 20' trailer w/ 6 quads and gear averaging around 65-70. Like Boonman my mileage drops considerably after 65mph. About 1mpg for every 5mph over 65....I broke down in Nevada and traded my truck in, got the same mileage, now I have the edge juice w/ attitude chip, exhaust and intake and my mileage went up 2-3mpg. I get better mileage w/ my new truck for some reason...Boony, how do you like that TS chip? My friend has a 550 Ford and wants more ponies, since his truck weighs around 10,000 empty, its a little sluggish. He has the 7.3 in a '02...I know the best chips for the D-max, but not the Fords..He's not looking for performance, but a lot of low end torque..Any suggestions?? He pulls excavating equipment a lot.
  7. You definately have a problem..The 450's run stronger on the bottom, but lack on top. If your taking him off the line, then the rider on the 450 can't launch very well...which gives you the advantage...Your top end is weak which could be caused by jetting or maybe your clutch is gone. Or maybe both. You should also check your compression w/ a compression guage, cost $20-50...Your gearing should be fine w/ those size tires. I'd also cut the end of the air box lid right behind the clips so you still have all 4 clips or remove it totally and rejet...The 450's are hard as hell to take on the launch, if you can get that, then you can get the rest. Find your problem.
  8. Take a screwdriver and put a slot at an angle in the screwdriver. Walla, instant spring puller...use a larger flat screwdriver. I'd post my oppinions on Minkia shee w/ Rocket pipes, but he has a stroker and jetting wasn't fined tuned so it wouldn't be accurate enough especially on stock porting and stroke..
  9. Looks like it got hot.. sure the tip didnt' melt off while the piston was melting also...kinda of hard to tell which is the culprit.
  10. Run it 6th gear wide open for 5-10 seconds, shut it down, coast to a stop, pull the plugs and take a pic and post it. We can let you know which way to go on the mains..I'd also try putting the stock needles back in and try different positions..
  11. I'd get the PTR mids, they have more low end then the fatties and pull way harder on top than the stock. Great all around pipe. Easy to work on the motor and spark plugs. Have more torque than other pipes so you can gear them higher and still maintain as much top end speed as the high revs giving you broader power throughout the gears...I'd choose the SST's next, then the Bills or Fatties for your type of riding...Just get the pipes and filter w/ flange....

You've already stated that is what they are looking for, therefore there needs are forefilled.   15. This is the whole reason why I stepped into this topic. You always avoid the questions or topic. You have NOT explained nothing at all. I just read back all 8 pages to make sure...you only thing you've done is called me names and keep going around the topic.... The topic started as women never being pleased no matter what the man would do for them...you posted that we are hypocrits and that women shouldn't be portrayed that way, but the post was what a women would look for in a man and wouldn't be enough....So are referring that a man would never be satified as well??? Shit, most women in Maine won't even make level 2 or 3, half of them are inbreed and don't even have teeth, so your accusations are wrong..most men would stop on level 1 or 2 and definately won't go past level 5!!!!!
  16. I'd get a head, no doubt. Dave knows his shit and can help give you the type of curve your looking for....I know he helped Fixitrod and I tremendously on our strokers. Both of our shees run completely different w/ his head over our stock heads....even w/ the same compression....Our squish is spot on along w/ the compression we desired. Thanks again DAVE!!!!

I got a diesel for the easy pulling and now that I'm used to one, I don't want to go back, I borrow my old mans truck (GM 5.3 1/2 ton) and start going up hill and find my self squeezing the gas more and more until it downshifts to 1st or 2nd gear and screaming for .......I don't know,it just screams!!!! My duramax will just lug up the same hill and not even downshift at 1/4 throttle, I squeeze the throttle to 1/2 way and it'll accelerate uphill. Then once you put a "good" chip in it, then your all done. NOw your racing mustangs in the 1/4 mile and beating them, then you go to the NOS and take on the Ford Lightenings....Now your "worktruck" and everyday driver is a sleeper from hell.....At least, thats my oppinion..anyone else have this disease??
