  1. W/ drag porting and all the mods you have, I'd go w/ either 33's or 35's pwk's..
  2. Rv is already paid for and ready to be picked up!!!! I still have to get plane tickets though....
  3. Do a leakdown test...that'll eliminate about 20 probabilities...
  4. JT, wondering when we are all supposed to meet up w/ the quads? Got my deposits right? thanks.Everyone else ready for this trip??? Who is bringin what?
  5. This is very interesting. I have a LLY Duramax. So far the truck is nice, but they are needing a reflash and some injector replacements. Other than that, I love the truck. ONe thing you might want to consider though, I have a Edge juice w/ Attitude, exhaust and intake.....Allison trannys can't handle the extra power, so if your gonna juice it, get ready to spend another 2k to get the power down....One of my friends just bought the new 6.0 Ford last night. Traded in his '01 Ford powerstroke w/ 7.3. He had it in the shop 3 times in 3 weeks, mostly starter, turbo, and sensor problems. ONly problems he's ever had, but happended all at once. The new truck seems like a nice truck, sits lower than my Duramax though.... He has the 250 3/4 ton...not much for features inside. He said it rides way better than his '01 Ford diesel also...My other friend has the Cummings... He thought he was going to smoke my Duramax w/ all that claimed hp.... Then reality kicked in when I was leaving him at 15mph and just kept going...He's not to impressed w/ it performance wise, but still likes it overall, so far he's had that one for almost 2 years now w/ no problems...My father in law has the older Dodge ('97 I think) had a lot of problems w/ fuel pumps, turbos, etc. He bought a gas GMC this year. He won't ever go back to Dodge.. So to narrow it all down, they all have their nitches right now...I'd wait another year or 2 or just buy a gas motor especially where diesel is more than gas. Right now all 3 diesels are upgrading the technology and need to work the glitches out...Good luck.
  6. Both plug wires fire at the same time. Thats why I already suggesting to swap plug wires. If the opposite cylinder acts up, then its his plug wire or coil...If that doesn't change anything, then its not the coil or wires..
  7. Are you recommending Passion?????
  8. the richer pilots will richen the needles as well. If you try stock pilots, then richen the needles as well to compensate.
  9. Depending on how aggressive your porting is, you should in the range of 290-330. Keep the timing at +4...make sure you raise the needles. Fmf pipes love richer needles.
  10. Sounds like its not getting gas..
  11. Fuck the labor pains, lets just see the baby!!!! RACE HIM!!!
  12. They want the bike to stay in the higher rpms when they shift. I lose 4000rpms when I go from 1st to 2nd. These bikes are designed to race. They only have 60ft/lbs of torque, you have to shift a lot to stay in the upper rpms..There aren't too many roads I've been on that I couldn't take at 85mph.
  13. Sounds like the old school pipes....I love them.. They are like an inbetween. Great midrange w/ great top end.
  14. I'd still start rich and work down. I'm guessing you'll be at a 170 when done. I got my intakes from another member, so I couldn't help you on where. I guess Jim at passion has them, duncanracing, but pricy, try magicracing.com
  15. I just notched my rear fenders a little so the coolant bottle can go back. I bent my rear tabs for the air box back and no longer use the front ones. Works fine. I also had to cut some of the front of the air box where the boots go on. I left just enough for the boots to clamp onto, then I had to cut the boots to shorten them up...you'll see when you get the manifolds...Like Rod said, we all have our rigs...
  16. Try raising the needle one notch and adjust the air screw. then do plug check in 6th gear to adjust the mains..
  17. they usually say on the pipes...
  18. Tors disconnected? If so, then try switching the plug wires and see if the opposite cylinder cuts out, if so then you have a bad plug wire or coil, if not, then you might have an air leak...
  19. Just pull the choke carb and pull the bowl off. You should see a brass tube in the bowl. At the bottom of the tube should be a little tiny jet. If you see that, then your fine and might want to blow air through it while its apart, if not, then your bowls are switched...
  20. Basically the long rod is for durability and less strain on the crank and doesn't give you any performance gains to speak of...The stroker will give you more power torque than the stock stroke. Like Benbb said, it pumps more air giving more torque, but in return will turn less rpms because of the longer stroke....
  21. Its cold out!!!! Go to 300 mains and clean the carbs thoroughly w/ compressed air. The adjust your floats, 21-23mm. VERY important...I'm not impressed w/ aftermarket needles, try the stocker in the 4th clip from the blunt end.
  22. I'm using the same oil as my snowmobile. "Gold series 2000" or something like that. It cost $30/gallon...maybe thats my problem, It sais for injection or premix, but maybe I should try a different one? I'm also running 40:1 and sometimes 32:1.
