  1. Those 450s are nice. My buddy got one and has already put a cam in it and wheel spacers. It doesn't rev as quick as my shee, but the handling is unreal. I can pitch it in a turn and it just hugs and goes.
  2. How about this?
  3. Yep, I have checked. I don't have any air leaks. I have run this same setup for 3 dune seasons, lots and lots of fuel has been run through the bike. I have had the head off 3 times and everything looks good. Don't be afraid to jet big. BenBB runs over 400 mains on his bike and he doesn't run at sea level. 3 of my buddies all run big jetting on stock bores with the 2:1 or clamp ons. These air filter systems flow ALOT of air. Here is my saying.... "A lean bike will run great, just not run for long."
  4. I have run Yamalube since day one. 32:1 ratio after I got about 5 tank fulls through the bike.
  5. Negative ghost rider. The overflow bottle is just there to top off the radiator. Your pressure relief hose is aimed down towards the right pipe... assuming your setup is stock. Your antifreeze does not go back to the bottle, these bikes are not setup like a car.
  6. DO NOT RUN IT!!!!!! Until you get bigger jets in there. That dealership is a bunch of idiots, they were just following Toomeys instructions, which are jacked up. You did not state your elevation, but let me give you my setup and you can figure out how lean he is from there. I have T5s, stock carbs, no air box, running the Toomey 2:1 air filter. I run at Glamis, about 300-500' elevation. I run 370 mains, 30 pilots and Toomey needles on the 4th clip position from the top. My bike runs AWESOME!!!! I also have Boyesen carbon fiber reeds. You are getting the popping and back firing because it is WAY lean. I would also switch to 32:1 on the oil ratio. I run Yamalube and that is what I run at. Good luck. Hopefully he doesn't have too many hours after his pipe change......
  7. Well, time to get a new phone. I am considering the Audiovox 8900, camera phone. Samsung 530 or 670 I believe. I am going with Verizon, they seem to have the most coverage. Any inputs? Samsung is a good product, I don't know much about the Audiovox.
  8. Do you have a Clymers? Get one and start reading. It tells you how to trouble shoot some stuff and how to take stuff apart. Like your carbs to check your jetting.
  9. I can start my shee with 1 kick every time.
  10. orange county Noper. Orange County was good too, but not what I quoted. Here's a Hint: Not only does it have Jack Black but it also stars: John Cusack Cameo of Bruce Springsteen Lisa Bonet (oldest sister from the Cosby Show) Joan Cusack Tim Robbins School of Rock?
  11. I didn't mind the DGs. They fit well and definetly helped over stock. I just new that when I improved my air flow and put a cool head on, the DGs weren't made for this. That is when I bought a set of Toomeys. Good luck. Linc
  12. Well here ya go. I had the EXACT same setup as you for a while. I ran 260 mains, stock needles on stock clip position, 27.5pilots and airscrews at 2 turns out. Bike ran perfect. This was at 65F and 500' elevation.
  13. Anything is better than stock. Although, I did notice a big difference when going from DG to Toomey.
  14. Those look pretty good to me.
  15. It's a Shee, it is supposed to rattle. I love my rattle. Besides, I can't hear mine when I am running 4th gear wide open in the dunes.
  16. I don't keep my vehicles long enough to use one.
  17. Ohm out the coil and your plug wires. Instructions are in Clymers. That will tell you. Only way to check CDI is to swap with another bike.
  18. Oh I forgot about your Moho. We camp at the bottom of the hill that leads to the drags. Maybe 1/4 mile from it. So you may get stuck. I have gotten close, but just kept my speed up. I'll let you know when we go and see what happens. Maybe I can talk them into closer to the entrance or something.
  19. Those guys with rails just sit around and talk to much. Actually, I am thinking about building one. These guys I ride with now are really cool. No, we don't ride balls out, just a nice pace. There are a couple of guys that aren't that comfortable, so I take it easy when I lead. Dude, I have never been into the motor that far so I have no suggestions.... Sorry. I can ask the engine builder guy down the street and see what he says.
  20. Troy Baby!!!!!!! Man, you have been working on that damn thing since March. I'm sure it will run good when you are done though. We are planning a early October trip to Gordons and will be back over Halloween for sure. You can hook up with us if you want. I ride with a new group of guys, no rails, all bikes. They LOVE to ride all the time. One guy just got a new 450 so he is talking smack. Can't wait to smoke him and shut his ass up. Later dude.
  21. What type of shocks and what weight are they set up for?
  22. Are you sure it is the radiator cap and not something else? The bike could be overheating due to a lean condition, bad water pump impeller, bad head gasket etc.
  23. Riding boots are a must. With/without nerf bars. Sell the bike??? Cowboy up and get back on that thing. I crashed on a KX500 last year and was down for 5 weeks. Went right back to the dunes as soon as I could put on riding pants again.
  24. Yep, it won't run right when you burn tranny fluid. Like Boon said, do the right work and it will run.
  25. If porting does increase air flow, then you should have jetted up quite a bit when you put it back together. I run 370 mains with no port work. I run T5s and the 2:1 air filter system. Bike runs awesome.
