  1. I run 380 mains at 500' elevation with T5's and a 2:1 air filter. Bike runs just a tad rich, but I would rather have that than a hole in piston.
  2. I have always run an inline fuel filter on my shee. Never had any issue with running the bowls dry. I change it once a season. If you ever have seen what is floating in the air on Thanksgiving weekend at Glamis as you are filling your tank, you would run a filter also. I don't care what is in the tank, it isn't rated down to 10 microns like an inline filter is.
  3. You don't know what the hell you are talking about...... don't you ride dirt bikes????????
  4. Dude, use punctuation. You write 1 longgggggggg sentence.
  5. You are way too lean all the time with those mains and at that elevation. I have stock port and stock carbs and run 380 mains at Glamis.
  6. Agreed, I ride 100% dunes and like stock gearing. I tried changing the front and hated it.
  7. Only change 1 thing at a time. If you change 2 things and the problem is still there, you won't know which one to go after.
  8. I run stock carbs and 380 mains. Bogging can be something else besides main jets. Needle, air screw, pilot jet
  9. I'm 41 and ride my Shee with my son in the dunes. I do have to admit, I would rather drive my sand rail......
  10. Redline makes an awesome tranny oil!!!!! I run the shock proof stuff in my Fortin racing trans in my rail. Great oil.
  11. I would start around a 320. Paper filters breath alot more than a foam.
  12. I would start at 350 mains, 30 pilot, 1.5 out on the airscrews and try that. I run 380 mains, 30 pilots and 1.5 on the airscrews and I have the mods in my signature. I only run at Glamis and my bike runs perfect. If you dune during the winter, temperatures can swing 35 degrees. It can be 32F at night and then hit 70 during the day. You want to make sure you are jetted for the cooler temps. Your bike will lean out if you don't.
  13. If you are going to take the air box completly out, you better go higher than a 300 main. I run 380 mains with 2:1 air filter setup and T5's. My bike runs perfect. Everyone is scared to go bit on jetting. I would rather have a slight bog/rich then burn up a piston.
  14. 2R at 32:1. Been using this for the whole life of the bike. Bought brand new in 1999. Yamaha tranny oil also.
  15. Go buy a Banshee manual. Will have pix and details in there.
  16. I've got no more adjustment left and it slips when I am in 6th and running hard. OEM parts are like $200 for all the plates and springs.
  17. It is finally time for a new clutch in my bike. I am on the original, 1999 bike. Pretty good huh? The bike sat for 4 years when I built my first sand rail. Anyway, what brand does everyone recommend? I was going to go back with stock, since it has worked just fine for this long, but that is pricey. I haven't torn into it, so not sure if basket is shot. Clutch works just fine, just worn out. I only dune this bike, stock motor with mods listed in signature. Thanks for the input!!!!
  18. There is the Glamis Beach Store at Glamis, you can get beer and food there. It will be pricey. At the Pads, you are close to the drags. Those are awesome to watch on big weekends. Get a CA sticker at the Beach Store and make sure you have a flag. Your bike is set up just fine. Buy premix before you get there, it will be cheaper. Prez Day will be a very busy weekend, so be careful. I will be south of you for that weekend at Gordons Well.
  19. 270-280 is not too rich at all with stock pipes and those temps. Majority of people out there are afraid to go big on jets. I run T5's and 2:1 air filter. I run stock carbs with 370 mains and 30 pilots. I am a little rich when it is warm out, above 90F, but when it is cool, around 40F, the bike runs perfect.
  20. What is the stock size front sprocket? 14 teeth?
  21. My shifter won't return to center and is loose. I still have all of my gears and if shifts fine. I'm assuming the return spring is broken. How difficult is it to replace the spring and do you need to remove the clutch to do this?
