  1. If my rings were bad, I would have low compression.
  2. No worries. I just built a LS1 powered sand rail. The Banshee just sits in the garage now.
  3. About 152 with my 20cc domes.
  4. Why would what your pix show tempt me to start changing stuff? I would never rev a motor to the moon with no load on it. Why would I change stuff when there is nothing telling me to change it? Good compression, plugs look good, bike runs great. I do preventative maintenance, but won't start replacing stuff just because.....
  5. Not very smart to keep riding. Bike is lean. As for sparks, I would say you have a lean condition. Better start doing some checking.
  6. I have had no problems with my stock pistons. Bike is a 99 with all original pistons, bore, rings etc. I still have 140psi of compression. I ride my bike 100% dunes and ride it hard. Runs great.
  7. Thats pretty good. I can get about 2 hours on a tank in mine. I do hope you are joking.
  8. No way will we see 70's again out here till October. We were there April 9th, 83 was the high. There again on April 16th, hit 99 by 11am on Saturday. If you don't like heat, don't go until next Halloween.
  9. How much do you weigh and how much does he weigh? Makes a big difference.
  10. Yeah, but how long will it run? Unless you are at 4000' elevation, you are lean, guarantee.
  11. You never did say your jetting, just that you were fat. How do you know? I would say airleak also, or lean jetting. What octane is the gas?
  12. Another vote for what the manual says until you get a couple of tanks through it. Then I went to 32:1 Yamalube and have been doing the same thing for 6 years.
  13. This is why no one rides my stuff.
  14. Chicks are wack. Forget about her, move on..... you can find something else to hit.
  15. I would leave the jets alone and see how the plugs look after.
  16. Any head that you can get change domes in will give you more power. What you have to be careful with is how much compression you go to before you gotta do other stuff. Like going from a stock head to a head with 17cc domes in it.... I would recommend running 100% race gas and getting your crank welded. There are lots of things you have to think about if you want your bike to last very long when you start changing stuff. I don't see how changing oil/gas ratios will give you more power, it will just give you less lubrication...... not good.
  17. Jet hot. Will hold up well.
  18. Call Toomey.... HAHAHAHA That is a good one. They are the same ones that say to run 280 mains with their 2:1 air filter setup. I run 370 mains with T5's and the 2:1. I wouldn't trust their input. Get the air leak fixed first, then try it. I would never reuse intake boot gaskets, in fact I never reuse gaskets. They are too cheap to not have new ones. I had some sand sticking to the top of my reed cage, due to a leak, after putting in new reeds, I shut it down and spent the rest of the weekend sitting in camp. Wasn't worth burning my motor up.
  19. What air filter setup? Do you have any port work? 310 mains may be lean if you have clamp ons or something.
  20. Nope, just a coolhead with 20cc domes. I know it sounds fat, but I have ran like this for 4 years and I know I don't have any air leaks.
  21. You are lean on the mains. I run 370 mains with my T5s and the Toomey 2:1 air filter setup. I have the stock gearing and weigh 220lbs. I can pull that hill in 4th no problem. Although now I just smoke Banshees while I eat the hill up in my LS1 powered rail.
  22. Get new friends, that logic is ridiculous. Did you mean to say a 300 main? If you had 400 mains with an air box, you had a major air leak or are VERY rich. Also, it is bad to change more than 1 thing at a time when trouble shooting. You should be running race gas with that much compression.
  23. Sounds like an air leak. Spray carb cleaner around the intake boots, head... everywhere. If the idle changes, there is your leak. You probably need to go up 1 size on the pilots and a couple on the mains. After you get the air leak checks done.
  24. I never said 370 mains were too big. I have ran my shee like this for 4 seasons. It loves it.
  25. What elevation? I am at sea level, run T5's with the Toomey 2:1 air filter. I run 370 mains with 30 pilots, toomey needles on the 4th position from the top. Don't jet down, that is crazy. the T5's are a better pipe than the T3.
