  1. It is a small set of dunes set in the middle of a forest. It is outside Kanab Utah. Or about 1 hour north of Lake Powell. It is pretty, but not very big.
  2. Yep, sounds a little rich for that temp and altitude. Everything else looks good. I would drop to 310s if it is only bogging a little bit. Unless you plan on riding in different conditions soon, cooler or lower elevation. Then I would just leave it.
  3. The local stealership said a couple of years ago, parts were like 2-3 months to get. Now they are like 2 weeks, not too bad, but still a long time. Keep the inputs coming.
  4. Oh yes, I have done that hill many a times. We are pretty close. I am on Signal Butte and Elliot. I used to ride in the big area off of Ironwood and Elliott before they shut it down. I can't ride this weekend, gotta pack the grease on my trailers wheels and change the oil in my truck. Also going to go buy a new quad for my kid, so I am sure I will be out riding with him. Thanks for the offer, will try again later. We are hitting the dunes next weekend if it cools off a tad. :flame:
  5. If you look at your pix, see the solid piece of metal that separates your flywheel area from the sprocket area? It runs up and down. Follow that down towards the bottom. The is 1/2 of a hole that is part of the case. There should be a plug there so when you put your cover back on with the gasket, it seals it. The plug is a piece all by itself. What I am talking about is not part of the cover or the gasket that goes on the cover. If you want, email me your pix and I will try to draw an arrow and show you what I am talking about. Lincster
  6. I can get a 2004 Eton 90 quad for my kid for $1500 out the door from a guy that reps the company. Anyone know anything about these quads? Buddy of mine has one and his seems pretty indestructible. Just wanted some input before I layed out the cash. Or I can get a Kasea(sp?) for $1800 out the door. Thanks for any input.
  7. Also, right in front of your case saver, on the case itself, there is a little divet on the case itself. There is supposed to be a plug there so when you put your cover back on, you don't get crap from your sprocket/chain into your flywheel area. You don't have that plug and it looks like you are getting stuff into your flywheel area, hence the darker color, like oil and grime. I would make sure that is sealed back up when you put your cover back on.
  8. A 500fl/lb impact wrench? You overtightened it. The sprocket is mounted on a shaft obviously, when you hit it with that impact, you probably pulled the shaft out of the case just a little. This may give you problems later down the road. I would buy the right washer, take the nut off and torque it to the correct amount listed in a Clymers manual. That might be where some of your oil is coming from. There is a seal behind the sprocket that may not be sealing all the way.
  9. I run the .125s in the dunes. I don't jump alot though either, but for duning and racing, all you need is the .125. Saves alot on weight also.
  10. Nope, Av Gas is around 102-104 octane. 110 low lead is considered race gas. The oxygenated fuel is a good point, that is what is in the pumps here in the Valley. Another reason I run race gas. :flame:
  11. Hate to tell ya this, but from the pix, it looks like your chain slider around your swingarm mount is cracked. The stock ones suck, I would get a new one ASAP before it comes off and your chain grinds into your swingarm. Also, where is the washer that is supposed to go behind your nut to hold your sprocket on? Those nuts can back off over time, that would cause a mess.
  12. Some people say that. My bike runs like a raped at with my jetting. Why would I go down when my bike likes it and my plugs look good. I had a guy at a shop ask me the same thing "With jets that big, are you ported?" I said nope, my bike likes it there. I know I am jetted right, when it heats up here in the summer or if I go to a elevation of about 6000', my bike falls on its face. When you night ride at glamis and the temp drops 20 degrees, I would rather be jetted a little rich.
  13. I run the T5s, 2:1 air filter, Toomey needles and have Boyesen carbon fiber reeds. I run 370 mains, 30 pilots with the clip on the 4th position from the top on the needle. Sounds like you are pretty close since you have an airbox, but no lid. My filter is completely open.
  14. I also run leaded premix in my lawnmower. Nice blue smoke and smells like I am at the dunes.
  15. Won't hurt anything. I run 110 octane low lead for the past 3 years in my bike. No problems.
  16. Do you have to change your diet? I have a friend with no gall bladder and she has to be careful on how much fast food she eats. Glad it went ok.
  17. No, summer will make the bike run richer. Hotter air means less air. Winter the bike will lean out because the air cools down and becomes dense. You have to jet up during the winter and jet down during the summer. Or just jet for the winter and leave it for the summer.
  18. Are you serious? Every exhuast system runs hot, it is supposed to.
  19. This guy sounds like he is pulling our chain.
  20. I agree. Just got back from there last night. By 11pm, there was no noise at all.
  21. I feel bad for you guys. I just got back last night from Glamis. We went to the sandbox 3 times last month. How sweet!!!!!
  22. You will be fine. Duning with haulers is a little tougher, you have to push the back end of the bike around, but once you get used to it, they work fine. I am more into duning than drag racing so I run the Skat Trak Edges on my bike.
  23. I run a pantyhose over my 2 into 1 air filter as well as an outerware. When I clean my filter, there is hardly any sand on it.
  24. If you are running in water up to your seat, you better make sure all of your electrical connections are sealed with silicon. Especially the CDI box, those babies are expensive. Make sure the lines running into your flywheel cover are sealed also. Once you get water in there, it will rust your flywheel and stator.
  25. There is something sticking, take the carbs apart and blow them out with compressed air, not too high on the pressure. They are even overflowing when you ride. I'll be you all go through gas pretty quick, even when you are running it.
