  1. Baldwin Motorsports quoted me $425 for the PEP ZPS rear conversion. The Quad Shop was $335 for Zero preload Elka conversion. And HSD Racing was $410 for the same Elka conversion. So this shock is a good deal. broke
  2. Yea, I ride with another guy that has one also. He usually gets me by about 2 bikes, but the difference would be greater with a longer run. I'm just happy to stay close to him with my bizzard 350. I think I would be pissed if I were him, that was a big dollar motor. My new pipes and carbs have been a little bitchy to tune, but I am hopeful. I will be there if I can ever get this thing tuned right, you going? I wish I knew why this thing wants such a big main. I haven't even messed with the pilot yet, idles pretty good and is real crisp down low. I might go out to Fox Valley this weekend to work out some of the bugs. Take it easy. broke
  3. Thanks guys. I just ordered from Dennis Kirk last night. Pjw350, Right now I'm running 30's. I beleive they are clones but work great all the same. I've got a friend who is building a Cheetah right now with 35's, so I might give those a try also. I have been having some serious trouble getting them to not run lean. Started with 150's and worked my way up to 160, went out and bout 165, 170 and 175, plugs are still white, went out and got a 210 and it just barely bogs so I at least found a place where it went rich. What jet size are you running in the 28's? Later broke
  4. To the top one more time. broke
  5. What amazes me are the ones that have been a member for like 2 months and already have 500 posts. Boonman and a few of the others have been here for several HQ transformations, and actually have quality posts. They forums change to quickly to ever get my post count up. Later broke P.S. Let's never let this place degrade to the Bluetraxx level. And...Evil, let's see some more of the girl in your sig.
  6. I'm getting tired of paying the dealer $7.90 for each try. After five tries, it's time to order from some place cheaper. Where does everyone get there jets? broke
  7. Thanks Banchetta. I try to be smart ass and end up just looking like an ass. But I think what I typed is a sentence fragment anyway. broke
  8. I'll add another vote for the PTR Mids. Best pipe I ever owned for my riding. broke
  9. One word "punctuation". broke
  10. I find the reason so many have problems with the twist on a quad is leaning off the side. Make a right turn, lean off the right, the handle bar is jammed to you, natural wrist movement is to role forward as the bar come closer to your body. Just the opposite with the left as you make a left turn and lean, the bar is going to be much futhure away resulting in the throttle getting rolled back toward you. I have ridden them and those are my thoughts. On a dirtbike most of the turning is with the rider centered over the bike leaning the hole thing, not hanging off the side. I think it just has alot to do with body placement. broke
  11. The J-arm frames were I beleive 87,88, and 89. 89 might have been the first year of the A-arms. I'm sure someone will chime in to confirm that. The J-arm only had one attachment point on the top, weaker, but I have heard that they are lighter. I've just never seen them both on a scale. You can get an A-arm retrofit kit for it, Meat "used" to make them, he might still. TORS is the throttle overide system, kind of a pain in the ass, but easily removed with a readily available kit. It will alledgedly(sp) shut down the motor in the event of the throttle getting stuck wide open. broke
  12. I use a straight edge and an angle finder. I don't know if that is exactly what you are asking. I don't know if it was in the old forums or new, but there was a very detailed explanation of how to do it. I can go into detail if you can't find it. broke
  13. Water boils that high by you?

  15. I'll second that. broke
  16. Inside the carbs. Unscrew the carb top, when you pull them out the slides wil be the part at the end of it being held by the spring. Kind of hard to explain,b ut once you open them up, it will be clear to you. broke

    Rocket Pipes

Hey, that's the picture of my pipes at the chrome shop. You're right, the pic doesn't do them justice. Thanks again broke
  19. You are way too concerned with the set up of that thing. You should be fine even with a stock one. Just go race, you'll find out very quickly what you want to do. I wish I had the options of picking between 3 different bikes. Good luck broke
  20. Let's get this back to the top. broke
  21. Congrats bud!! I have one on the way right now, the whole Hormonal Hurricane is still getting hard to get used to. Cotton Eyed Joe, It's strange you said that. I keep telling my wife, that if it's a boy I want to name him Ivan or Boris. Good luck with him. broke
  22. I just put 30's on with Rocket pipes. The problem is it just wants to idle to damn high. I backed off the throttle cable to the point it actually has slack in it. I just don't know how to tune these at all. I put the biggest main that came with it in, 160. The needle is at the middle position and the pilot is whatever came in it. I tried to spray carb cleaner everywhere and no change, so I think I have ruled out an air leak. I have no idea which way to turn the airscrews as these things came with no instructions and don't seem to stop at the same point in or out, so I can;t figure out a baseline to go from. I tried the search and came up with a whole lot of info that doesn't really seem to help right now. I idles so high when I start it, it sounds like it's going to blow. It rund great once ouit, but I have to lug it a gear high just to bog the motor. My mods are; RZ motor ported Rocket pipes V-Force Prodesign intakes Clamp on K&N pod filters Thanks in advance for any help.
  23. I know you are looking for offers, but I usually don't like to offend anyone on here. Some of these guys are just wound a little too tight. What are you looking to get for it? Thanks, broke
  24. This may be in the wrong forum, but it's not really a repair or mod. Can some body please tell me how many links I will need with a -2 length swingarm. My little brain obviously can't use the search right, I can find everything except for what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance broke
  25. Not to take a side on this, but it really does depend on the terrain. This is kind of like comparing a Ferrari to a Hummer. A Ferrari is going to have a hard time keeping up with a Hummer a desert race, yet a Hummer won't even be able to keep the pasta rocket in site on a road race course. Cannondales were and still are very competitive on an MX track. It's not to say that a Banshee can't be made to handle MX very well, but it's going to take a better rider to match the lap times. The Banshee stock just flat out sucks at MX, too hard to argue. The 'Dale is lighter(stock), has much better geometry and suspension and those damn four strokes just hook up too well. The tighter the course the more the difference. The bigger, more spread out courses lessen the difference some. There are ways to make the Banshee handle better, just use the search function. The Banshee is still the (disputed) king of drag. This one isn't even worth discussing, just look around the site. These arguements come up constantly, Banshee vs. this, Banshee vs. that. I can't believe how much time people spend comparing everything to the Banshee. That alone should tell you something. The Banshee has done it all, check just about any kind of quad racing since the inseption of the Banshee and you will find out it has been raced and found it's self on the top of the podium more times that pretty much anything else. Sure it's dated, but you will be too in 17 years. The fact it's still around says all that needs to be said, what else is? Enjoy your quad and just remember you can only try to dethrone what's above you. Sorry this was so long winded. broke
